Fabric is from fabrics.com. I ordered an upholstery weight antiqued velvet in chocolate. Pure yumminess.
The color is actually darker than this as you will see.
The work was done right here on site.
Here are his supplies.
A bag is used for trash.
And here he is at work. Who is he? He is Jim the slipcover guy. I found out about him from Sherry at Design Indulgence. He does her slipcovers for her client jobs and has done her own slips in her home.
The best part is he does everything on site in a couple of days. No hauling the furniture off or having it picked up and missing for a couple of weeks.
Now, you see a peek of what I had done. I had slips made for the sofa. I love the red, but really wanted a brown velvet sofa and now I have both. Plus miss Bailey has really ruined the red fabric on one cushion. She will stay off of this. I can remove the slips if I want the red. He did the cushions first and then came back the next day to do the body.
This was the second day when he started doing the body work.
I'm going to break this up into two posts and show you the finished look later.
I know, I'm mean like that!
See you tonight for Wow!

Years ago, when we lived in Germany, a lady came over from England and stayed with us for three days, making slipcovers for a sofa and loveseat. I'd met her at a craft fair, and this was what she did. I couldn't believe it. I still have the furniture and the slipcovers are as good as new because I change with the seasons.
