This is the large willow basket that was in the sun room before I switched to a different one.
Ballard's lantern.
Love having a bundle of lavender here and there. I need to go buy some more. I may have to plant some, but not sure we have the right climate here for it.
Here is the great room without a rug since it moved to the sun room.
Not sure if I want to add a rug back or not. I will have to see if I can find the right one, but for now we are enjoying the bare floor. Mr. Savvy didn't like the fact that we paid so much to have this floor put in and then cover it up with rugs. I told him because that is what you do.

I love rug-free floors, especially if they really are worth showing off. Yours are quite lovely.
ReplyDeleteSilly Mr Savvy. Of course that is what we do. :)
ReplyDeletePretty vignette Kim! Love that round basket!
ReplyDeleteGreat basket! You always know what to do!
ReplyDeleteI used to have my lanterns on my coffee table...I think I'll put them back. Yours looks fabulous. Of course the floors are beautiful. I'm totally having floor envy!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful vingnette.....love the round basket! I have noticed more and more decorators not using rugs. I tried removing the seagrass rug in my dining room a while back but hated it becase all of the wood exposed made the room seem really dark. Life would be easier around here without the rugs since the fur babies are almost 14 yrs old now.....
ReplyDeleteHappy 4th of July!

Looks wonderful. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteKim,
ReplyDeleteLove that basket. And I too love lavender.I am hoping to pick more up at our farmers market tomorrow.
((Hugs))

I love your basket vignette Kim. The lantern is great!
ReplyDeleteKim,
ReplyDeleteI love lavender too. I already asked for lavender here in SC and was told that it was too humid here. Your basket and vignette are so pretty. I am a fan of hardwood floors. Happy 4th!
I have not seen lavender grow in our part of Georgia but you never know. Sometimes I grow plants people tell me I can't and they thrive. The floor is pretty sans rug.
ReplyDeleteI love that basket on your coffee table and the items you placed in it. That is such a great mix! I'm sure you are enjoying the cooler temp of the floor without the rug right now.
ReplyDeleteJust a perfect topping for your coffee table. Your floors are stunning and I can see why you would want to show them off. Maybe a rug for colder weather and bare wood in the summer?

I have a basket just like yours. Great blog! I'm a new follower :)
ReplyDeleteThe basket vignette is lovely and the lantern is perfect!
ReplyDeleteit looks beautiful, all of it, men just don't always "get it" do they, Lavender likes heat, and poor soil, sandy, I'm not sure if it does well in humid areas, but it loves the sun!!
ReplyDeleteLove it!! Have a wonderful 4th of July.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Your coffee table vignette is perfect Kim. Love seeing the bare floor in the summertime.
ReplyDeleteIn love with the bare floors, especially for summer. Trying to talk the Headmaster into just that at the moment!

Looks great! I'm growing lavender in my garden and it's doing great :-)
ReplyDeleteI just love that basket. Great size and color and the texture, oh my, the texture. Love. Thanks for sharing, liz
ReplyDeleteLooks great, Kim!
ReplyDeleteThe bundle of lavender is such a nice touch. I can almost smell it from here.
ReplyDeleteThe coffee table grouping looks nice, Kim. I am getting ready to take my carpet up for the rest of the summer, too. I am trying to figure out if I want to do it before or after all the kids are here on the 4th. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteKim….I love this! Have you been shopping at my shop when I wasn't there? We have ALL of this that is on your coffee table!! It looks great! I'm still in awe of your Okraloupe and have thought about all day! It makes me smile!
ReplyDeleteGreat vignette on the coffee table. Love the lavender, it smells soooooo good. The lantern is lovely also. Thanks tons for joining TTT. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteYou have the knack to make everything look charming. ;-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.......Sarah
Love it all as usual. We grow lavender here and I love to dry it in bundles for display, plus it makes the kitchen smell good since I hang them from the pot racks to dry. Have a good holiday!
ReplyDeleteI would love to curl up on your couch and have a read of those books, it always looks so inviting at your house
ReplyDeleteSuch a gorgeous home.
ReplyDeleteLove your basket of awesome books and lavender....antlers, well, parts of animals isn't my thing, but so what, right?
LOVE your home - love this room, love love love your floors, love your colours chosen in there.
Lavender loves lots of sun and doesn't like to be overwatered- pretty much ignore it and it turns into a ridiculously huge bush.
Grow it, decorate with it, eat it, bathe with it, bake with it - it is awesome in every way.
Love this Kim! Especially those antlers and the lavender too..nice!

ReplyDeletehaha! Lee is was the exact same way about the new hardwoods in the dining room. He flipped when I put a rug down in there. It all looks so beautiful...as always...Kim! Maybe when I move down there by you I can come over and take it all in for inspiration! ;) yes that was a hint. lol
ReplyDeleteHeather
I have wood floors as well, but I do have a large area rug, but you can still see the floors...I think it gives it a nice touch..totally bare I don't think I would like it....men are funny ...have a great 4th of July...with love Janice
ReplyDeleteI've been looking everywhere for a round basket for my ottoman, and I love yours. Very interesting and pretty vignette!
ReplyDeleteI love your floors and they are very cool for the summer. Maybe in the fall when the weather cools down (it will cool down at some point won't it?) you will decide you want a rug to warm the space up.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Laura
Your mix of this and has created a beautiful vignette Kim! Hope you have a safe and Happy 4th, Gail
ReplyDeleteHas Mr.Savvy noticed the fireplace yet? :) I love a rug under a coffee table...even a small one. That's a great basket. Love the color! Have you seen the battery operated wax candles with timers? They come on every day, for 4 or five hours, at the same time of day. Got them at Costco. Very cool!
ReplyDeleteLooks great Kim. Love the mix, it looks so interesting and creative.
ReplyDeleteI'm kinda thinking like Mr. S., the floor looks beautiful.
ReplyDelete~Bliss~
Just beautiful, and I like the room with no rug especially for Summer. What do Hubbys know about decorating anyway. LOL
ReplyDeleteLove the basket, what a beautiful mix of things!
ReplyDeleteI might be the minority but I love a room with a rug under the coffee table.

ReplyDeletemy friend here in Nashville, grows tons of lavender for her soap making business. I think it would do well at your house in a sunny spot.
ReplyDeleteI have noticed and admired your hardwood floors many times before. They are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThis is Melissa @ Daisy Mae Belle. Love this collected look! And, love the painted coffee table. I think that I am about to paint mine. We just got hardwood floors in our family room and I have been on the hunt for the right rug. So far, no luck. My husband actually asked me if I could go ahead and find one. He like the feel of something soft on his feet rather than the wood! Imagine that. . . he is asking me to spend money on the house?! I always enjoy your blog so much! I just love your style!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful vignette, Kim! I love lavender but it doesn't grow here and the bundle I bought on-line didn't have any aroma.
ReplyDeleteIt is so frustrating that everything is PACKED and I can't PLAY!!!! I want to make vignettes and change things and can't. Love the floors bare, especilly for summer. Maybe a rug for winter? XO, Pinky
