For quite a while I have had this Italian wooden inlay art piece in my bedroom within this large frame backed with burlap. While this looked perfectly fine I decided to bring out my cow canvas from hiding to where I could enjoy it. The wooden piece has found a new spot.
All I had to do was remove the other piece and then I turned the frame from vertical to horizontal and added this cow painting.
This is just a fun piece that I bought last year from an etsy shop.
I sleep on the side of the bed closest to it and when I lie on my right side before turning out the light I see mrs. cow looking at me.
I am glad I found a spot for it where I can enjoy it.

I love the cow painting! The colors are so fun!
ReplyDeleteLove it Kim. Cows are pretty whimsical creatures anyway...we always enjoyed watching them...the calves especially. The frame and painting are perfect!
ReplyDeleteI love tht cow painting.
ReplyDeleteLove the whimsical touch to the corner! Looks great!
ReplyDeleteKim,
ReplyDeleteI have been so wanting a cow painting for my master bedroom ... my husband works for the dairy industry in milk marketing and thought it would be the perfect nod to all those fabulous farmers he represents!
Can I ask if you remember the name of the Etsy shop where you found this beauty?
Thanks!
:)
Linda
Your cow canvas looks great in the fancy frame. Love it!
ReplyDeleteI really like it in the frame. Great fun. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteRooms in our house get their touch of whimsy when I walk in and sit down. :)
ReplyDeleteSeriously, a bit of humor in a home makes it more comfortable and inviting. Smetimes I go into houses where decorating is taken way too seriously, and I have a hard time feeling at ease ... no matter how hospitable the hosts may be.
Love your cow painting, BTW!
What fun to have a benevolent cow, munching on posies, watching over you in your sleep! ~ Maureen
ReplyDeleteI have always loved that cow picture and I really love it in your bedroom like that! It's sort of unexpected with playful colors but yet it still matches. I like the idea of hanging it within the other frame like that too.
ReplyDeleteLove it! Isn't it fun to find the unexpected in a home? I just found a horse print that I'm adding in my basement. :-)
ReplyDeleteI want to frame a smaller picture like you did on a larger frame with burlap!
ReplyDeleteI have a vintage Winnie the Pooh cookie jar in my kitchen.

I think the cow painting looks perfect there! I'm all about adding whimsy to every room-it keeps things fun! (I have an old pair of kids' roller skates on a shelf in my office, for example)

I LOVE that pop of color in your neutral room and if you get tired of it you can move it again! Great idea!!
ReplyDeleteI like it a lot - especially the fact that you can switch the paintings in the same frame.
ReplyDeleteKim the frame and painting look perfect together! Great shots!!
ReplyDeleteI love whimsy, when I see it used in a home's decor, I know the folks who live in that home believe there should be some fun in life.
ReplyDeleteDear Kim!
ReplyDeleteYour cow made me smile :)
I am in London with my brother and I am not having much time to read my blog I feel behind!
I loved your post, short and sweet! Yes, I want to add some whimsy in my rooms!
Also it gave me the idea to write shorter posts, I am going to write one right now.
Thanks for always inspiring me, Kim.
I can't wait to participate in the link parties again. God bless,

ReplyDeleteKim your cow painting is charming. How great to wake up and see that sweet face.
ReplyDeleteHe is darling there and shall watch over you whilst you sleep. The other day I attempted to photograph some cows in a field. Every time I zoomed in one one they appeared startled and FLED. I never got a good shot. I am scary:}
ReplyDeleteI love it!!!!! I think every room needs a touch of whimsy! The cow looks like she is looking in the window!! We had a cow that did that at my grandmothers,
ReplyDeleteHi Kim,
ReplyDeleteLove Mrs. Cow! and the creative way you framed her. I noticed that you and your sister (and me) have the same lamp yours is in your bedroom, Kelly's is on her antique chest and mine is in my office...What great style we have LOL.

I agree! I love this cute cow! Good job!
ReplyDeleteKim, last week I came across the most beautiful cow wall prints all set in the English countyside. For those of us who thought we'd never want a cow on the wall, this site can change your mind. Check out hoodandbroomfield.co.uk/
ReplyDeleteLove your cow painting! I recently won a painting by Sue Scoggins of my sweet dog, Boogie and may have to frame it the way you did. Love that look.
ReplyDeleteOh that is so great, you must fall asleep with a smile on your face!

I agree! I hate when homes look "staged". Homes need to reflect the personality of the people who live there! Adding whimsy is a great idea. Your new cow is super cute.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely Kim...what's a room without a little "whimsy". Very nice!
ReplyDeleteI want that cow print, I just love it, I had wondered where it have moved to.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you Kim, A touch of whimsy... or sass... makes a room fun and lived in! There is a nice spark of life! That cow would look fabulous in my home since I can see cows out my front and back door!
ReplyDeleteLove the cow colors!
Looks like the cows have come home!!!..love this!Kim I do love whimsy, always looking at the lighter side of life!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more! She is perfect with the posy and fun pop of color for your room!
ReplyDeleteThat is so fun and cute, Kim! I too like to add a little whimsy to keep things from getting to stuffy/formal! While on vacation years ago, I found this figurine of a frog in Victorian gown with a lovely wide brim hat. I fell in love with it. My livingroom with inherited Victorian furniture which was a bit more formal than my liking and she add just the right touch of whimsy. Her name was Belle and it always made me smile to see her among my victorian ceramic figurines; even her colors matched! LOL! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHope you can share your quick makeover/change at Frugal Treasures Tuesday!

ReplyDeleteWe need a little more whimsy these days -- love the cow! Am trying to find a pair of cows for our family room and want to change the color from builder beige to green apple. Time to brighten things up!

ReplyDeleteGreat painting in a great spot. I love the colors and I also love the pillows in the room
ReplyDeleteCynthia
Kim I think you should have a contest to name the cow...she's adorable...we used to call all our cows boss...I remember my dad yelling every morning "come boss, come boss" and they would all run to the barn for milking...
ReplyDeleteThis is Melissa @ DaisyMaeBelle. LOVE that cow canvas! I have often been teased that my girls have "cow" names - Daisy Sue, Anna Belle and Lila Mae! I have been looking for a cute cow painting with 3 cows. Love the look of yours! Just the right touch of whimsy!
ReplyDeleteI love your cow picture! Isn't it amazing that cows, pigs, dogs,...all (most) animals give us so much peace? I wish we humans would take a few tips from all the cows in the world and share more love!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun- a cow on one side of you and a bull on the other!;>) xo Diana
ReplyDeleteYour cow print is so fun Kim~ love that frame with the burlap too!
ReplyDeleteThat is FABULOUS, I love it!
ReplyDeleteWe have a cow painting in our dining room. I was a bit skeptical when Steve began the painting, but I ended up loving it. A group came through the house for a studio tour and someone expressed an interest in it. I will be sad to see it go. Enjoy your cow!
ReplyDeleteI love your cow! It adds the perfect amount of whimsy.
ReplyDeleteI love it!
ReplyDeleteI was just telling my family..."if I could paint a lick, I'd paint cows." True Story.
I'm thinking on giving it a shot. When I do...I hope it's whimsical and fun! Like you, I don't think our homes should be ALL serious.
have a great week! Pat
I love it ... Its the perfect touch :)
