I liked the bed skirt from Pottery Barn that was here before, but this one has more of a custom look.
This is a nice heavy weight cotton.
After putting the new bed skirt on I stood there and stared at this armoire. Well, guess what.
It now looks like this.
This was a very quick and easy project. I just painted two coats of Annie Sloan Chalk paint in Co Co.
Yep, loving the buffalo checks.
I love buffalo check! I'd love to add it to my home somewhere sometime. :-) The change you made to the armoire is perfection... it all looks beautiful together.
ReplyDeleteWow, Kim! I love the changes to your master! The Buffalo Check bed skirt is wonderful and I love the addition of the paint to the armoire! When you run out of projects, I need you to come to my house; it will keep you busy!
ReplyDeletelove the checks.. your room looks terrific
ReplyDeleteYour room is so pretty ! I love the new bedskirt and the change you made to the armoire!! So cozy and elegant, Kim!
ReplyDeleteI love buffalo checks too! I was sad to see the red buffalo check drapes leave te kitchen but I am a neutral girl. That paint really kicked the armoire into high gear!
ReplyDeleteVery nice!!! Luv buffalo check. Had it in our previous home, and left them in the home when we sold. Now I am missing sooo many things i changed. It was a beautiful little cottage done in a French country theme. Creamy white furniture, checks and toile.... roosters and chicken wire. Traded it all in for a Tuscan design, now I am slowly reverting back!! having to start most of my collections from scratch. But I am getting there...

ReplyDeleteI love your new dust ruffle. It was the first thing I noticed when I saw your bedroom last Monday. I like your cabinet door insets painted darker too. Was that done before I came over? I dont' remember. Love it too. I just tried chalk paint for the first time today! I'll share that soon.
ReplyDeletelove that skirt kim and i love buffalo checks too...in fact i'm using them in my guest room re-do like the one at the southern living idea house...khaki and white!

ReplyDeleteYour bedroom is gorgeous and simple...the paint is such a beautiful contrast with your bedding.
ReplyDeleteLove the bedskirt, Kim! You always find the best things from OKL. Love the added Coco to your armoire. It really goes very well, not only with the best skirt but with your whole bedroom scheme.
ReplyDeleteIt complements your room perfectly. So does the paint job!
ReplyDeleteBrenda
Love the look!
ReplyDeleteI love, love, LOVE your new bedskirt! I have been waiting to see it ever since you gave the sneak peak on FB. I am totally crazy about buffalo checks too. I want them everywhere in my house. I have a beautiful sample of a buffalo print in Seabreeze from Calico Corners that I stare at all the time. I'm thinking of making drapes for my dining room with it. I bet drapes made out of the same fabric as your bedskirt for your bedroom windows would be beautiful! I don't know if you could find it. You could probably order a lot of fabric samples and see if any of them are similar. Your bedroom is my favorite room in your house. I'm going to go now. I'm suppose to be staining a table top. :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I am totally wanting buffalo checks in my bedroom too. Have to find them though. You just amaze me Kim. :)
ReplyDeleteWow, Kim--your master bedroom just gets better and better! I'm a fellow lover of buffalo plaid, and this colorway is one of the prettiest I've seen! Just gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I love Buffalo Check too, ...and found a piece of orange and white yesterday, that I want to do something with for Fall! The hutch looks great with the darkened insets!
ReplyDeleteKim, I was just thinking about whether to add a dust ruffle to my bed today! I voted against it because the dogs like to sleep under the bed and it would soon be covered in dog hair...sigh! Seeing yours makes me wish our dogs didn't shed so much, it's beautiful! And the painted detailing on the armoire looks wonderful!
ReplyDeleteKat
Looks absolutely beautiful, I love how you are able to pull it all together. Keep decorating you inspire me!

ReplyDeleteHI! I just found your post through French Country Cottage's Feather Nest Friday and I love your Buffalo checks1 The color is fantastic! Such a creative idea too, to paint the inserts of your armoire to match! What attracted me to your post was your padded headboard. I've been wanting one badly, thought of converting our current headboard but not sure if I should, and was hoping your post would say where you got it (or did you make it?) It's beautiful! I'll be following from now on, looking forward to more posts and pics!

ReplyDeleteAlso, have you ever thought of replacing the woven panels on the armoire with glass? If you need coverage, you could install gathered curtains behind the glass?
Ann
Kim, I too love buffalo checks and the color is great. I was wondering where you got the white quilt on the bed. I have been looking for something like that but have not been able to find anything I like. I think yours is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteDebby, I got the quilt at the Pottery Barn outlet.
ReplyDeleteKim I love the armoire. Did I miss the post where you painted it? What did Mr. Savvy say?
ReplyDelete~Bliss~
Kim, it is amazing how small changes can make such an impact. If you ever see that bed skirt come up again, would you kindly let me know? I'm redoing a guest bedroom and I need a new bedskirt. My walls are painted about the same color as yours and the skirt is perfection!
