Love the beadboard so much more than just the wall.
This is just a cleaner look even though probably still too much for some folks. Of course this will periodically change. I have had the rooster papier mache tole tray for years.
Some of these pictures were taken on an overcast day since that is what we had here for days.
This weekend we had glorious weather and fall is definitely in the air.
I do love turning my lamps on on a cloudy day.
But give me sunshine and I am a happy camper.
I put all my ironstone back the way it was before we added the beadboard on the back except I placed the one oddball brown cow creamer in the center just to change things up. I like quirky, you know.
View from the master bedroom.
The beadboard added to the back gives this piece a more finished look. Now I can quit painting the wall between the shelves different colors. I painted two coats of Chateau Gray ASCP on the beadboard and shelves and was through. The outside color stayed the same. Mr. Savvy said, "I can't believe that project was finished in less than a day."
Yes, dear, that is why I love using chalk paint.
Have a fabulous day. I am going out to lunch with my mom and sister today and meeting my daughter and miss Leila for dinner.

ReplyDelete~Bliss~
That plate rack is lovely, Kim! What a great color. It really shows off your pretty ironstone beautifully. And I love those little cows. I tend to go around take away things from my tablescapes. At least once a year I pare things down to the bare minimum, but of course as time goes by I'm always adding something here and there. It's a never-ending process!
ReplyDeleteKim - You shelf turned out so pretty! Really pretty pics.
ReplyDeleteJudy
The beadboard was the perfect addition, Kim. I know you will change your vignettes, but this one is perfect.......for now :)
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Laura
What a fantastic platerack, Kim! I love the beadboard backing, and the beautiful details in the moulding at the top of the rack. I love the white dishes, but I do love that brown cow in the middle! Your vignette on the dresser top below is very pretty--that green bottle is lovely.
ReplyDeleteI love the plate rack you have done a wonderful job. I used to have a kitchen with the fishtail fretwork in my last home. Unfortunately my new little house has a very modern kitchen but I plan to replace the doors and benchtops and I have a plate rack from my old house(not fishtail though) that I plan to hang on the wall as I have limited space. Now I know what I will do with it as it is natural wood but I would like to paint it similar to yours but maybe in ivory or white. I also have the same little white cow, I know its in my mums house somewhere so I will be looking for that today. I am gradually going through mums house (she passes away last month). I am finding many delightful items but my house is filling up so fast with her things that I now have to sort through and sell some things which is heartbreaking.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing.
Lee :)
KIM that is breathe taking beautiful...I love the color...girl I need you in my home,it needs help. :P
ReplyDeleteI should have known, I was just clicking on my favorites on 'Between Naps...' linky party and the first one I loved was yours! I love you new plate rack and I always love your blog! And, a very late Happy Birthday to you.
