This is what the plate rack looked like last time I showed it to you.
This is the peek I gave you of it on the master bedroom floor. Don't worry I put a drop cloth under it.
Here is the wall after taking down the rack. It will be all covered up.
We went to Home Depot and bought one pack of these beadboard tongue and groove planks to use. We measured the plate rack and then Mr. Savvy took these to his shop and cut through the whole pack with one cut using his miter box saw.
Then we added each plank one at a time.
We used these tiny little nails and a hammer since we don't have a nail gun.
It was even easy enough for me to do. Sorry, bad picture.
After it was done it looked like this and was moved to the breakfast room for me to paint.
I pulled out my can of ASCP in Chaeau Grey and had it painted in no time.
And guess what, you will have to wait to see it finished.
Just till tomorrow. K?
Pack of beadboard planks was less than $17 and a pack of nails made this project around $20.
I still have half the planks left over. hmmm
Have a super week!

I love that you showed the painted blue wall.. classic! and clever but I think I am going to love the transformation. I have searched forever for a plate rack on craiglist but not lucky yet.

Can't wait to see.. Oh how I wish I had a mister who was willing to help out on fun projects like this.. Frankly, he probably would do it if I asked, but I'm just not as "savvy" as you are.. I wouldn't even know where to begin!

It's such great fun to see a project deconstructed that way, Kim. I adore beadboard and am hoping one day to have a beadboard ceiling in my kitchen. You make chalk paint look so easy! Thanks for posting this. I love the finished product.
