Wow Us Wednesdays #90

Wow, hurricane Sandy sure did have a huge impact and I know we are all thinking of our friends in it's path. I have lived through three hurricanes when I was a child living in Florida and have seen the damage done by much smaller ones. The material things can be replaced and the clean up will be long and slow. Continue to remember those who were in its path.
Lots of inspiration at the party last week so here are just a few.

Andrea of Keeping it Cozy shared the sweetest post and this cute fall banner. You must see how it was made.

Beautiful master bedroom reveal shared by New House to Home.

The 2 Seasons made over a plain coffee table into this cute colorful game table.

Is this not the cutest shed? Check out all the fall details at Home is Where the Boat Is.

Wonderful Goodwill lamp transformation shared by Our Southern Home

Gail and her husband have done it again with the Halloween decorations for their twin grandsons' birthday/Halloween party. This is over the top and you should see how they created this at Gail's Decorative Touch.

At the Picket Fence shared this pumpkin pie latte that you might want to try instead of a slice of pie.

Here is a different way to serve pumpkin. You can find the recipe at Silvia's Simple Life.

If you were featured you can grab a "featured" button from my sidebar.

Now we want to see your "wows" this week.

 2. Please don't link the same thing you linked last week. Only new links.
 3. Please be a follower of this blog through GFC.
 4. Turning off word verification would be a great thing. You will get more comments if you do.
 5. No advertising or etsy links.
6. No link parties, please.
7. Please no more than three links per person.
8. If you want to pin a picture to Pinterest please click on the picture and pin it from the original source and not my blog. Thanks

The Top Three

Time again to see who the top three most viewed links were at last week's Wow party.

Up first with over 490 views is a home tour shared by Homespun. Love that built in cabinet.

Imparting Grace came in second with over 412 views. She shared her home all dressed for fall.

And last, but not least with over 345 views is Thistlewood Farm who shared a very funny story about a roast.

Can't wait to see what you have to share tonight.
See you there.

Thoughts and prayers going out for our friends hit by Sandy.

Chocolate Velvet in the Master

When I had the sofa in the sitting room slipcovered in the chocolate velvet there was a few yards of fabric leftover. So what to do? Why have a custom pillow cover made. What else?

And being a southerner it had to be monogrammed.

I sent the fabric to my sponsor, Ann of Sutton Place Designs, with the pillow insert measurements and she went from there. I used the insert from the Pottery Barn pillow that said Bon Nuit on it. I think it is the perfect finishing touch for my fall/winter bedroom.
If you would like any custom work just click on her site and contact her. She does wonderful work.
She also carries ready made pillows, runners and other goodies.

Dough Bowls, Grain Sacks, and Much More

Let's continue with more pictures of what we saw at the Country Living Fair. There are lots of pictures so get comfy. You can see the first part here if you missed it.

Need your fortune read? This was in a gypsy decorated camper. The picture of the outside accidentally got deleted.

This was a western themed camper.

They had cotton bolls there, of course.

This was a gorgeous old peach orchard ladder. I just don't have a place for one.

Loved this unusual scale, but not the price.

$26 for these old enamelware pails.

This vendor had a lot of nice collectibles. These demijohns were all $48.

The dough bowls were huge and very very heavy. They were all the fabulous price of $98 no matter what the size. I was so tired by this time I couldn't even imaging carrying one of these to the car.

Would love to have had one of these vintage German sleds. Would be great to decorate for Christmas.

Towards the end of our long day we came upon the mother load of grain sacks. Shirley recognized the vendor who she had seen at a similar fair in N.C. in the spring. The vendor is from Austria and she had the best prices. ALL her grain sacks were $45 each. There were all different colors.

She also had these fabulous chairs.

She also sold by the yard.

My loot from the fair except for the quilt. Shirley and I stayed till after four and then went back to my favorite antique mall that we had gone to on Friday. There was a fabulous piece there that I had to go back to look at and see if I wanted to make an offer.
Here is a peek.
I already miss Shirley. Can't wait to do it again.
Hope you are staying warm where you are. Cold, cloudy and windy here today.
Sure glad we went yesterday.
Have a super duper week!
