Country Living Fair, Cash and Cari and More
We survived the Country Living Fair and boy did we have fun. I took lots of pictures so I will break this up into a couple of posts.
Right after we parked the car and got out, Rhonda in the red, got out of the car next to us and said that she knew us. She knew Shirley and her blog and she knew me and mine. This is the first time I have had a reader recognize me. Rhonda and her husband had gone to the north Georgia mountains and were on there way back home to Florida.
This is just a snippet of the size of the lines that were waiting to get in. It was packed.
Here is a view of Stone Mountain for those of you who have not seen it.
Country Living Fair banners and signs were scattered throughout the area.
This was a large copy of the latest magazine cover.
This is a group photo we had made for HomeTalk. We put on our blue HomeTalk t shirts for the picture. These are mostly Atlanta area bloggers and a few that came in from out of town like Shirley did.
Joanne Palmisano of the DIY Network was on stage sharing how to make vintage signs. We watched for a bit and then left to go do some shopping.
Cari of Cash and Carry from HGTV was there selling her wares.
Shirley recognized Hoss, Cari's sidekick, right away and wanted her picture made with him. He was so nice and said sure and then told us Cari would be back shortly and we could have our picture made with her, too.
Cari was so darn cute in her retro outfit and so sweet.
This was just one of the trails that leads down to the tents where all the goods are.
Loved this sign, but not for $195.
Lots of great things to be found at some really good prices like these old cheese boards for $68.
We were so worn out from all the walking, but it was so worth it.
Lots more to come and what came home with me so stay tuned.
Have a beautiful day,

ReplyDeleteHi Kim,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the pictures, Stone Mountain looks amazing! Looks like there was lots to see and do.
The guest cottage sign was very nice, you could make that yourself... ;0)
Love the cheese boards.
Enjoy your Sunday!
All the Best,
Christine
oh, kim, i wish i had notice you guys!!! i was there fri. & sat. helping a friend with the show - she was set up right next to the "sisters on the fly." the weather was so perfect - it was a great show!
ReplyDeleteLooks like so much fun!!
ReplyDeleteThe fair truly was wonderful. My mom and I werent sure how long it would take us to get there on Friday, so we were early and ended up at the front of the line. Loved seeing Cari and having my picture made with her, I recognized her voice before anything :) Hoss was a mess and took our picture. I cant wait to go back every year. Stone Mtn is the perfect venue for this! Cant wait to see what you bought, I was really surprised that a lot of the prices were really good. We got some fun stuff and now that I know what's there, Im planning for next year. Did you see those HUGE bread bowls? I so wanted one, but they were just a tad too big. I did get an awesome large tray made out of reclaimed wood. Fun times!
ReplyDeleteOh how fun. Can't wait to see more. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteOh, your day looks like SO much fun! I am so going next year! I'm hoping my girls will be old enough to stay with daddy for the weekend (he just doesn't know yet). :-)
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great time! That photo of Stone Mountain sure is eerie. I haven't been there in years, and it's easy to forget how big it is!
ReplyDeleteThis looks like so much fun! Stone Mountain looks amazing!! Can't wait to see what you got!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like it was a blast. I loved watching Cari on HGTV and hope her show comes back on. A local store here is carrying those cheeseboards and I almost picked one up the other day. Now I want to go back and get one!
ReplyDeleteWow - I have never seen Stone Mountain before! What a fun day!

ReplyDeleteWish I could have been there! I don't know if I would have had the stamina though.LOL But I would have given it my best effort. Wow is all I can say. Thanks for sharing the photos. Can't wait to see more.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a lot of great stuff at that place. I wondered how the prices were. Sounds like there's a good mix. I figured it would be extremely crowded. Looking forward to seeing more pics!
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos Kim! You really gave me a sense of what it was like to be there! Looking forward to your next post! :)
ReplyDeleteKim, thank you for sharing the fair with those of us unable to attend. Looks like great fun!

ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
The fall leaves in the first photo were what struck me. We don't get much of the leave changes in Ventura. It looks like a fun day.
ReplyDeleteHey Kim! I'm back and here to torment you again! What a lot of fun you gals had. Amazing to see it in person, I bet. Love that sign but for $195 I would pass it up, too. Hope you have a great Sunday and that you are rested up by now- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteKim,
ReplyDeleteThis looks like fun. I cannot wait to see your finds!
Have a great day, Elizabeth
Kim thanks for the great photos. I've been saying for a couple of years I'm going to go to this but I always seem to be in Texas in Oct. Durn it...maybe next year. Hugs, Linda
ReplyDeleteKim it looks like such a fun day, Open air shopping in such a pretty setting with fun people, what could be any better!
ReplyDeleteKathysue
Kim, Look's like great fun was had by all. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI love this post! The mountain is amazing and I loved seeing the HGTV cast. Pricing is truly an art because I would have paid the $200 for the sign but not the $68 for the cheese board, lol!
ReplyDeleteI must have thought about y'all four or five times yesterday wishing I was there! Glad you had fun. I am going or bust next year!!!!
ReplyDeleteLook forward to seeing your loot and other pics from your day. I would have recognized y'all too!
Well, if I couldn't be there, at least I have a great on-the-scene reporter to tell me all about it. I can't wait to see what you've brought home.
ReplyDeleteKim - Wish I could have been there. Thanks for taking us along on your trek. Looks like lots of fun.
ReplyDeleteJudy
Oh it looked like it was sooo much fun Kim! I would have had to have brought home a bread board at that price. Thanx for sharing some of your day with us. I nee to make sure I get to it when it comes back to Austin next year.
ReplyDeleteHi Kim, I am so jealous!!!! I went a few years back & loved it. Thank you for filling my mind with awesome inspiration, I really need that:).
ReplyDeleteLOVE that picture of Stone Mountain Kim! Looks like you guys had a great afternoon!

Hey Kim...now you see how close I was standing next to Cari...just thought that some of her "beauty" would rub off on me!!...Had so much fun and I can honestly say to all I could see that your home was so beautiful in pictures...and to actually see it in person was beautiful beyond words!!..Thanks for everything!!! :).....hugs, scratches behind the ears, and kisses to Bailey!!...Great meeting Mr Savvy too!!!
ReplyDeleteI dont know who Hoss is, but I am in love! He would be totally woth quiting Afghanistan and coming home.
ReplyDeleteSo wish I had been able to be there, great pictures Kim!
ReplyDeleteI was there Friday! It was really good....so many beautiful things....sooooo many ideas!! The only complaint I had was ALOT of the booths didn't have things priced and we had to hunt someone (cos' it was so busy) to see how much it was....other than that! LOVED it! We went last year....and will go next year!
ReplyDeleteLou Cinda :)
It is a really great Fair, isn't it. I saw Cari last year, but didn't have the guts to ask to get a picture with her. I also made the mistake of going on a Sunday and it was really picked over and several of the vendors had left already. I did buy something from that Austrian vendor last year, though.
ReplyDeleteYou lucky dogs. Looked like so much fun. Wish I could have gone. I love watching Cash and Cari!
