I took this shot from inside the restaurant where we had lunch.
This one was also taken from inside the restaurant. It was so foggy you can barely make out the island in the foreground where a small three car ferry was going back and forth from this side to the other.
This is an old railroad track that used to be on the ground and ran to the other island that they are now using the small ferry for.
Bank on this corner.
And this old one across the other corner.
We also missed going to Nantucket because of the poor weather. You just can't plan what mother nature is going to throw at you. Mr. Savvy knew how disappointed I was and said when he retires we will try to do this again if I want. My luck it will rain again.
I have been sharing snippets on facebook, so be sure and follow me there and I will share some pretty sunny pictures from our first couple of days in Connecticut here on the blog soon. We stayed in Falmouth, Ma. for the last two days with easy access to Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. It is really a pretty little town with lots of shops and restaurants.
We return home Friday and then the fun part begins of unpacking and doing the laundry and back to taking Miss Bailey on walks. Got to get off the stuff I ate this week.
Thanks to Debbie and Laura for guest posting this week and thanks to everyone who joined the Wow party which is still going. Be sure and come back tomorrow for the Favorite Room series guest poster.
Have a super weekend!

ReplyDeleteI think the fog lends more mystery to your pics. Glad you had a nice time even though Mother Nature wouldn't cooperate. -Al

Oh, I was there last March, and I really fell in love with Martha's Vineyard, and especially Edgartown! I'm sure it was lovely, even in the fog! Thanks for the photos, it took me back!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you're having a great time! It was foggy the day we visited Martha's Vineyard as well. What's up with that?? Looking forward to hearing more about your trip and seeing pictures.
ReplyDeleteMary Alice
Hi Kim, I wish I could tell you how many times I've been fogged in on the Vineyard! Once we had a house closing in the morning so we left the airport and waited at the ferry until it started running, went over to the Cape, then up to Boston to the airport, and got home just in time in the morning!! But Edgartown is a wonderful place and we just love it. Looking forward to your pictures of my CT! Linda
ReplyDeleteJust lovely. And what a wonderful time to visit. We have traveled from Texas to Massachusetts for the Brimfield antique show each May for the last three years. We made into Martha's Vineyard and Edgartown, but sadly, we haven't made it to Nantucket yet. Maybe next year. Can you share where the thrift store was located?
ReplyDeleteSmiles,
Carol
So glad that you finally got to see these places. These pics are pretty with the fog since it's all on the water. Looks like something out of a movie! Well, now you have something else to look forward to....Nantucket!
ReplyDeleteLove all the pics! The fog looks really cool. Sorry you didn't get to all the places you wanted to go. Looks like you had a great time anyway!
ReplyDeleteI know it was foggy and not what you wanted, but those are fabulous pictures...You will go again and it will be perfect!!
ReplyDeleteCarol
Kim, even the foggy photos make me long for a trip to Nantucket. I love that area, fog and all! Travel safely.......Sarah
ReplyDeleteI'm following you on FB now because I want to see what you are up to!!
ReplyDeleteYou never know, it may not rain next time! :)
Lookit you, taking time to visit us....love that fog, love New England no matter what!!! Ya gotta visit there in August.....
ReplyDeleteKim, I love the photo of the jetty with the red posts.....and the red pushbike!!!! Surely you didn't set it up like that or was it just a fluke?
ReplyDeleteSuzyq
Love the photos...fog and all!! I've never been to New England, but it is on my list of places that I want to go visit.

Beautiful pictures Kim. New England is one of my favorite places to be...thank you for sharing your vacation with all of us! Wishing you safe travel home.
ReplyDeleteBarbara
Actually I loved the photo's because of the fog, like out of a mystery novel. You inspired me to visit the east coast once again, will have to begin planning now. (getting out bucket list).
ReplyDeleteLove that the photo's and fonts on your blog, are larger than normal so much more easy to enjpy your posts.
So sorry you didn't get to go to Nantucket. I know you must have been disappointed. The weather is definitely unpredictable in that part of the country this time of year. Thanks so much for sharing the photos. They're beautiful.
ReplyDeleteSafe trip home.
Laiura
Enjoyed your pictures from your trip....I know you had a great time! Have only been up to that area once and it is so very picturesque for sure!
ReplyDeleteI know I might be a little weird...but I love fog! In Ferrara we have fog all the times in the fall and winter months...sometimes for weeks before we see the sun again.
ReplyDeleteWell, two out of three isn't bad! I've always wanted to go. One of these days! Any good antique shops that didn't cost an arm and a leg? Hard to imagine! Glad you had fun!
ReplyDeleteAh bummer. I've always thought Nantucket sounded fun too. I hope you get to go again and that the weather behaves for you!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you didn't have better weather but your foggy shots are still really pretty! Can't wait to see more photos!
ReplyDeleteKim...these photos are fantastic..Love the fog!..one day I shall make it there....sorry about Nantucket....
ReplyDeleteKim, you're kicking it in my part of the world! I grew up in Falmouth. Although I now live in Nashua, NH (just 2.5 hrs to the Cape), I have family there and visit often.
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are lovely, Kim. I'm so glad you were able to come up and visit my part of the country. I think Autumn (with or without fog) is the loveliest time of year to wander on the islands and the Cape.
