I had such a fun time at the Southern Bloggers Conference and want to thank the ladies who took the time to put it together in such a short period of time. I met up with some bloggers I had already met and met some new ones, too. There is nothing like meeting the people behind the blogs that we follow from day to day.
I have also developed a new friendship with my personal chauffer over the weekend. I rode with Laura from Top This Top That and we found out that we must have been separated at birth. We both said we were wondering what we would talk about on the road. Well, there was no problem with that. We talked non stop and found out we had so much in common. There was a whole lot of laughing, too. We won't tell anybody that we started following the wrong cars to one of our stops on our shopping adventure and ended up at HomeGoods and realized that we probably should have listened to the lady in the box(GPS) when she was screaming at us to make a U turn and to turn here and go back here while all along we just kept following the wrong group of cars. Good grief! We did finally make it to where we belonged. Here are some pictures from our stops.
We were welcomed with open arms at a couple of our thrifting stops in Raleigh on Sunday with signs and goodies. I had a picture from our first stop and it has completely disappeared in lost photo land somewhere.
These first few shots were from our second stop. They welcomed us with open arms in this small shop and also gave us an extra discount. I did make all my purchases, but one here.
Now the rest are all shots from our fourth stop. I didn't take any pictures at the third stop and Laura and I had to leave after the fourth stop to make the six hour drive home. This stop was like a small little shopping village with cute shacks full of goodies, lots of stuff outside and the cutest vintage camper.
I think these greeters needed a bit more sleep.
This is what came home with me. A beautiful vintage quilt, two clocks and the enamelware pitcher. White clock: $10, black clock: $14, and pitcher: $17. Not too shabby.
This quilt for $40 plus a discount is not too shabby. I will share more pics of my purchases when I show where I use them.
So glad to be back home and so much to catch up on. I will visit as soon as I can. I have to get the top three post and Wow post for tomorrow ready plus I will have Leila. So much to do and so little time.
ooh, love the quilt and pitcher especially!!.. you found some real treasures.. in bloggers and thrifting!
ReplyDeleteSo many great treasures Kim. I agree with you that thrifting needs to be added to the dictionary!
ReplyDeleteI want everything you showed! I'm not too far from Raleigh - I really should go!

looks like fun! I have an obsession with clocks, so love those, and that quilt was a steal! I'm an avid quilter, and it's nothing to spend $300-500 on the materials for one quilt, alone! ps don't tell my husband hehe
ReplyDeleteTooo much fun Kim! I love the quilt and the clocks. You crack me up. Did you really think you were going to be at a loss for words for the car ride? NOT for a second. Gosh I wish I were there!

I spy all sorts of stuff I would want to put on the roof of Laura's car and bring home. Make a note if you ever ride with her again to bring a third person whose only job it is to pay attention to who you are following.
