I bet you were expecting some Christmas decorations. Not yet. Just come back on Saturday night and join the Homepsun Christmas link party and you will see some then. Right now I want to share a project Mr. Savvy and I worked on a couple of weeks ago.
Remember this hutch that has been painted more than once? Well, guess what it has been transformed with more than just paint.
This hutch originally had a shelf in it that was taken out. Well, I decided I needed a shelf added back in.
I also decided it needed to have the doors removed and beadboard added to the back and handy Mr. Savvy did that for me.
Then after he did his thang it was my turn to paint it.
And now it looks like this. Let's take a closer look.
I painted the beadboard with Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint in Shutter Gray.
The rest was painted in Luckett's Green milk paint then lots of sanding to show the layers of paint.
This project was done in one afternoon from start to finish. We already had all the supplies. Mr. Savvy walked in the bathroom after I was finished and he said, "You are already finished?" Yep, the paint dries quickly so no waiting.
The green goes well with the green tiles in the floor, the green stained glass window, and the green in the granite. This bathroom originally had green carpet in it. That was a quick way to get the house ready to move in when we built it. We were just physically and mentally exhausted and we just told the floor people to slap the same carpet in there that was in the master bedroom at that time. Mr. Savvy and I laid this tile floor ourselves a few years ago.

ReplyDeleteI've had a post-it note stuck on my dressing room wall for months saying Luckett's Green. Love the color. I wonder if there's a match to the color in any wall paint? The color of that stain glass is what I'm looking for. So pretty.
ReplyDeleteI love them both, actually!
ReplyDeleteMy husband isn't into this "art thing". He makes the money, I spend it. That's our deal! LOL!
