Mark Your Calenders
I can't believe I am saying this, but it is time to think about how we will be decorating our homes for Christmas. Eek! I know some of you like to jump the gun and start now, but I don't start until after Thanksgiving. I say one holiday at a time. I do however like to start looking at holiday magazines, pinterest, and stores for ideas.

These are pictures of some Christmas vignettes I created last year. It's fun looking back. I actually saw things that I forgot I had. This actually gets me excited about decorating this year.
Speaking of Christmas vignettes I am joining three other stylish bloggers to host some fun parties. I am hosting vignettes and mantels. You can share table vignettes, hutches, kitchen counters, etc. and your dressed up mantels. Any Christmas vignette in your home.
Ann from On Sutton Place invited me to join this group and I thank her.
The fun begins December 2nd, but the link up will begin the night before so be sure and mark your calenders.

Can't wait, Kim. Great group!
ReplyDeleteSo excited for Christmas!!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see your home and all the other gorgeous ones included on the tour :)
I am so excited, Kim! I already know what I am doing on my mantle!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love Christmas decor. I will be looking forward to this with my flash on. My Christmas decor tends to be my fave.
ReplyDeleteI'm one of those crazies that starts early (already pulled out 2 boxes yesterday). My excuse is that Canadian Thanksgiving has come and gone, so Xmas is the next holiday for us! Also, we host an annual big party 3rd week in Nov so I need to get cracking to get it all decorated and some baking done for the party. I'd prefer to do it in Dec, but there are so many work functions going on that no one seems to have time then. I'll be ready for your linky party in plenty of time =)
ReplyDeleteKim! I'm with you- I start getting excited about it but won't actually do it until after we celebrate Thanksgiving. I am going through my Christmas things (since 1975 I've been collecting) and letting the 4 adult kids choose until it is all portioned out-(keeping what I want first, of course). I have so much STUFF it is sad....or crazy...yeah...I'm going with crazy!
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a wonderful weekend- I can't believe you aren't PAINTING something!!! xo Diana
Sounds like fun Kim I will be there! I don't decorate until the day after thanksgiving.Although this year I am working at the antique mall.Kind of a bummer but that is how it worked out for me this year!
ReplyDeleteLOVE your fresh tree greens.I am planning on doing all real greens.I have done artificial greens that look authentic. But I am using those in my space this year. The only think fake will be our trees.
xx

Fun! I'm looking forward to the party. Glad I'm not the only one who can't remember how much stuff I have :)
ReplyDeleteOh it's marked! This is going to be such a pretty party (: I'm looking forward to it!
ReplyDeleteSounds like fun...hopefully I will be unpacked by then. Moving day is Nov 26th.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I'm going to put up trees this year. I've come to think that is too predictable. Think I'll decorate in some different ways, but probably not starting till December. I get tired of it otherwise.

You have some gorgeous vignettes shown from last year! I love the centerpiece on your coffee table in the great room and the one in your foyer. I was just out shopping early today and stopped in Michaels briefly. They are in full swing there with all of their holiday decorations! Already had some of it on sale too. I'm like you though and prefer to wait until after Thanksgiving to start decorating.
ReplyDeleteIt'll be here before we know it!! ;)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait Kim!!
ReplyDeleteYour pictures from last year are really pretty. The party sounds like fun.

ReplyDeletesounds like fun.. marking the calendar.
ReplyDeleteIt will be here before we know it. Not sure I'm quite ready. lol Patty
ReplyDeleteSounds like fun, although I feel mildly panicked at the prospective of how quickly it will be here! I'm marking my calendar :)
ReplyDeleteI thoroughly enjoyed seeing all your vignettes from Christmas last year. I love how you incorporated natural elements into your designs, something I hope to do this year. I'll return here for more inspiration! Can't wait for the linky party!
ReplyDeleteYour vignettes are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI don't decorate until after Thanksgiving either. I think of all that stuff as dust collectors and hate to have it up for to long. Guess I need to get thinking on this years decorating so I will be ready to link up. Thanks for the reminder:)
ReplyDeleteI so agree with you, one holiday at a time!
ReplyDeleteSounds like fun. I'll have to link up...
