Greetings, everyone!
My name is Becca, and I have a little ol' blog named "Adventures in Decorating." I was truly flattered when our *oh so* savvy, witty and talented Kim asked me to be a part her fabulous "My Favorite Room" series! Thank you, Kim ... so glad to be here!
Welcome to my favorite room, which is our kitchen! I love this room because it's a place where I can ... add a "family tree" during the Fall to remind me of all who matter most:

and add a chalkboard to an otherwise plain pantry door for a bit of character.
It's also a room where I can replace a lone cabinet with shelves that I made out of inexpensive wood (and, yes, still pray daily that they don't come crashing down) ...
as well as a place where I can hot glue beadboard to our existing tile backsplash to give it a fresh, new look (shame on me ... I know):
Granite countertops that are rarely used for preparing fabulous meals (oops) become great places to add small vignettes:
Our kitchen is also a room where I can have face panels added to a "basic builder" island, followed by adding a new butcher block countertop, farmhouse legs and painting it Annie Sloane's Old White chalk paint, followed by her Chateau Grey!
And, because I'm one to apply WAY too much paint to my brush, I tend to then look around at other items I can attack ... case in point, our dry bar in the breakfast area of our kitchen:
What can I say? I'm a just a *tad* bit obsessed with chalk paint!
Even our "EAT" letters got a dose of Chateau Grey, too!
I also love our kitchen because what you don't see in the picture below is that this is the place where I blog and connect with all of you! Yes, that *clean* table is usually filled with papers, a laptop and one crazy lady (me) who stares at her computer with glazed over eyes *way* too often!

Lastly, I love our kitchen because it's where I have fun adding whimsical splashes of Christmas, which I'm doing as we speak! Please tell me I'm not alone! LOL
Thanks so much for visiting my favorite room and, Kim, thanks again for allowing me to be a part of such a great series!
I was lucky enough to meet Becca in person at the Southern Bloggers Conference and she is just like what you see on her blog and facebook and ever so sweet.
I hope you will go over and visit Becca at her beautiful blog Adventures in Decorating. There is so much more to see so get comfy.
Have a super weekend!

Becca, you are after my own heart! I see so many things you have done in your great kitchen that I have done in the past, too, trying to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear! I had to laugh at the hot glue to hang the breadboard -- that's when I knew we are kindred spirits! LOL
ReplyDeleteThe only thing that could upstage Becca's gorgeous kitchen is Becca herself! The room is an absolute reflection of her warm and friendly personality and shows off just how talented she truly is. So glad you featured her here! :-)
