Hello! My name is Andrea, and I blog at Willow Wisp Cottage.
I am honoured to be sharing my favorite room in Kim's fun series! I have read Kim's blog since I first started my blog a few years ago, and credit her beautiful home and sense of style for inspiring many decor choices in my own home.
We moved to a new home a year and a half ago. When we first viewed the house, it was the sunroom that sold us, and it continues to be my favorite room.
The sunroom is basically two spaces, separated by a corridor. The first side is where I love to read, and look out at the beautiful view of horses in the fields, and the Rocky Mountains beyond.

The sunroom is basically two spaces, separated by a corridor. The first side is where I love to read, and look out at the beautiful view of horses in the fields, and the Rocky Mountains beyond.
Down the corridor is the fireplace and another seating area.
While in the rest of the house, we've painted and done many upgrades, the sunroom didn't need anything done to it. It has great features such as a panelled, white washed ceiling, french doors, in-floor heated tile, board and batten on the walls, and matchstick blinds on all the windows. I even loved the buttery yellow walls. The red walls you see is the exterior siding, as it's meant to look as if this room has been added on.
The fireplace is two-sided, with the other side in the great room.
Here are a few pictures of the room all decked out in it's Christmas finery.
Thank
you so much, Kim, for having me! I really enjoy this series, and am so happy to be part of it!
Thank you, Andrea for sharing your cozy sun room with us. Andrea is a vet who is not practicing for a while and has helped me a couple of times when miss Bailey had an upset stomach. Sure did save me a vet bill. I hope you will go over and visit her blog. She has a beautiful home.
Have a super weekend!
Have a super weekend!
Andrea I can definitely see whey this is your favorite room. Love the way the stune streams in. The accent red wall truly makes the room look like it's added on to the back of the house. Love the mixture of painted wood and natural wood in the room. Now I'l go on over and visit your blog!
ReplyDeleteYou think I could spell. Just got up after a long 11 drive to Delaware (that's my excuse)

ReplyDeleteBoth sides of your sunroom are beautiful, Andrea! When we bought our condo {a year and a few months ago} the sunroom was a deciding feature for us, too. Thanks for sharing this lovely room, Andrea and Kim!

ReplyDeleteThanks for my favorite weekly series, Kim!!!
What a charming home...love the white washed wood on the ceiling...
ReplyDeleteAWESOME spaces, Andrea! Thanks for picking this, Kim- and I certainly can see why you did!
ReplyDeleteLovely, open, bright, and beatifully designed.
I wish we had a glimpse of that view she wrote of though - the mountains in the background? To me in Ohio we have nothing of the kind. We have beautiful wide bright lakes, green fields and lots of woods, but no mountains! Not even hills much where I live!
What a beautiful post-I can picture reading and watching the horses. I'll have to go over and check her blog.
ReplyDeleteThanks alot Kim.
This sunroom would have sold me, too! You have it styled just perfectly and I LOVE the fireplace!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
Beautiful room. And a view of the Rockies! Love it.
ReplyDeleteI can see why you probably spend a lot of time in your sunroom, Andrea. Love the stone fireplace!

ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty sun room! Love all the details that add texture and interest. The moldings, the blinds, the gorgeous fireplace stone, the french doors. It all adds up to perfection :)
ReplyDeleteI can see why you love this room so much - it's beautiful! So inviting and comfortable! I think it would be my favorite place for coffee and reading and dreaming too! Thank you for sharing! Hugs, Leena
ReplyDeleteI can certainly see why you love this room! I love fireplaces that function on both sides and wish the "zero clearance" fireplace wasn't so popular, here in California. And then, don't get me started on our approved days to burn a fire! Anyway, I digress! Beautiful room! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteCheers!,
Barbara
I love the look of the red exterior siding indoors!
ReplyDeleteAndrea's sunroom is beautiful! Love the fireplace.
ReplyDeleteHi Kim!
ReplyDeleteAndrea has a very beautiful Sun room!! How I would love to sit there to read my books. The fireplace on the other side is so gorgeous. I love big old fireplaces in the winter to keep us warm.
I love the chair in the corner of the Sun room. It's very inviting. The light above the chair matches beautifully with the window treatments.
I love your house Andrea!!
Thank you for having Andrea stop by!!
Pam
What a lovely room! It must be wonderful to have such a view to look out upon each day of the Rocky Mountains and, of course, the horses! Thanks so much to Andrea and you for sharing!
