I have been wanting a vintage red scale for a while since I started collecting old scales. Red ones are not easy to find. I finally found one from an etsy shop and I love it.
Remember when I shared some of my Christmas peeks the other day? Well guess what he is standing on?
Yep, on my vintage red scale. Don't you love the cute shoes?
Just look at those eyes and mouth made of coal and the carrot nose. When I saw this vintage looking fellow in Tuesday Morning back in September he had to come home with me. For only $7, why not? I was birthday shopping with my mom and sister not Christmas shopping, but there he was.
When the scale arrived I just had to use it in a Christmas vignette in the kitchen. I bought this vintage style Santa in his sleigh about three years ago and have used it each year in a new spot. For some reason I am drawn to these vintage looking decorations. Maybe because I am vintage, too.
:)
Of course I had to include a vintage bottle brush tree. I set it in a pillar filled with sea salt to look like snow since I was out of epsom salt. Everything sits in a tray filled with batting for snow.
So I am quite thrilled with my red scale....
.......and the whole vignette that it inspired. Don't you love how the wall is blocking my tree. That will be shared another time.
Are y'all enjoying all the Christmas cheer throughout blog land? I know I am. So much inspiration out there.

And this is a stretch, but since I am not very crafty, but did put this vignette together, I am sharing it at our second hostess' stop for A Homespun Christmas at Cedar Hill Ranch. Please be sure to share all your handmade items over there.
