I found this floor lamp at the Restoration Hardware outlet store at the after Christmas clearance sale.
Mr. Savvy has been needing some better light by his chair and this bright light certainly does the trick and it is adjustable.
I think it looks good, too while providing him light.
While we are here I thought I would show some winter looks in the great room. I kept these PB pillows in that I used for Christmas since they are winter themed and still work till spring.I wish y'all had feel-a-vision so you could pet this furry cheetah throw. It feels so good.
I made a small change on the mantel by adding this urn with my trimmed rosemary plant in it.
You can see the red rug I added to this area. So glad it is the perfect shade with my furniture.
So do you think the added industrial works with my traditional decor? I think I like the mix.
Have a super week!

Love it all and want that new lamp addition too. If only I could find great deals! No Restoration Hardware or Pottery Barn outlets near me in Ohio.
ReplyDeleteHi Kim, I like the mix too. And it's hard not to see things in Restoration Hardware and not like them immediately. They always have such great styling! Hubby has been wanting a light too, and that one would probably fit the bill. Looks great in your room! Have a good week!

Loving the industrial addition, Kim. Thinking about doing something industrial in the guest room redo.
ReplyDeleteI thnk it looks terrific! I am still trying to get this house "set up" and "put together". My office is making me NUTS:):) XO, Pinky
ReplyDeleteI love the industrial light Kim. Mixing it up a little is always good.
ReplyDeleteI love a mix of looks. Your room looks so cozy all dressed for winter!
ReplyDeleteI love your lamp and the wonderful red rug. If we didn't have sand blowing in all the time and a dog (don't know why she isn't hairless by now) then I would run out and find that rug.
ReplyDeleteOf course a bit of Industrial coordinates with Traditional! The common theme in your decor (or anyone else's, for that matter) is YOUR taste and preferences. If you like it, it probably goes together just fine. Besides, any decor that is just one thing or theme is boring and predictable. (You seem to be a lot of things, Kim, dear ... boring isn't one of them.)
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way - I am liking industrial accents very much but in small doses. I love that color scheme in your room, so warm & inviting.
ReplyDeleteI am in love with that lamp! Yes I do add bits of that to my home too!

Perfect touch of industrial in your room! I've been searching out industrial lighting for my office redo and this lamp is some perfect inspiration. But that cheetah throw really caught my eye. I'd love to snuggle up in that!

I love your new lamp! I like that it's black. Your rug looks good in there too. It's definitely a warm and inviting room.
ReplyDeleteIt's the perfect accent. This room is so nice and cozy! Makes me want to curl up with a good book!
ReplyDeleteI do love that lamp. It looks great in your home. Love the red rug too Kim. I hope blogger gets it fixed so you can leave comments again!
ReplyDeleteI love the lamp and the red rug. Great additions.
ReplyDeleteIt definitely works Kim! I like the look!
ReplyDeleteHi Kim,
ReplyDeleteI love that lamp and it looks great in your room. Love that room.
Kris
Yes, I do! I think it works really well and adds a fun element to your space! I'm sure Mr. Savvy appreciates the added light, too! Love the cheetah throw, and your PB pillows look beautiful during our winter months!
ReplyDeleteI do, I really do. Like the new addition I mean. The touch of industrial with the traditional is great. Keeps the traditional decor from getting too stuffy I think. Gives is a little jolt :-)
ReplyDeletehugs, Gee
Love your new industrial light. It goes perfectly in the room. Love that oil rubbed bronze color.
ReplyDeleteGreat lamp Kim, it looks great in your room.
ReplyDeleteI love it! I think the rooms looks cozy and comfy!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
I am always about a mix of things. I don't like it when things are too "matchy matchy". I like different eras of items, different textures and certainly different styles...all pulled together to create something unique to the people who live there! A friend told me yesterday that I always have such interesting things sitting out around my house...I told her that I really don't, I just have things that some people don't think of as decor! Love the lamp!
ReplyDeleteThe lamp looks just great in your room.
ReplyDeleteI'll throw my hat in the ring also and vote yes on the lamp. A little bit of black in any room always makes the rest of the colors and furniture pop!! Nice addition --- with the added bonus of it being so functional.

Great lamp Kim! I remember the last time you changed things around and Mr. Savvy said he needed a light by his chair.
ReplyDeleteI like the touches of industrial mixed in. The lamp is great! I didn't get to tell you how much I am liking the cabinets you are painting, too!
ReplyDeleteKim,
ReplyDeleteI, too, think that the lamp looks great. I recently purchased a vintage industrial lamp for the desk in my office. I really like the small dose approach also.
Love that urn on your mantle with your trimmed rosemary, looks great!
I LOVE your new lamp, Kim! To me, a bit of industrial really adds a touch of trendy modern to a space!
ReplyDeleteGreat room and lamp, especially the perfect Red Rug....can you share more info where you found your rug?

Kim... Your home is simply lovely! I just want to sink into your couch, light a fire, and read a book - and steal Mr. Savvy's lamp. :) Beautiful room!

ReplyDeleteLove it
ReplyDeleteI think your room looks perfect. Yes, the industrial lamp is purposeful and it looks great in the room. I love mixing things up and really love mixing vintage and industrial looking things with the traditional. It gives it a more eclectic and interesting look. That cheetah throw would feel really good this morning! It's 8 degrees here in Michigan. I'm stting by the fire catching up on reading blogs.
ReplyDeleteReally beautiful, I like all of your small touches, the industrial style lamp is gorgeous and the magnifying glass, too. You have added just the right accessories to your red sofa and rug, really nice!
ReplyDeletenot that i'm prejudiced by my love for industrial, but i must concur. the industrial lamp is awesome against the more traditional styling. but, we'd expect nothing less from you - all that you do is awesome! sarah
ReplyDeleteI think your new floor lamp is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteYour great room looks really warm and cozy. It'll be nice to snuggle under the cheetah throw if the ice storm comes. The industrial chic touches look great with your decor.
ReplyDeleteIt looks great with your decor!!
