How was your weekend? We made a short trip to Nashville to visit our son and his family. It was one of our grand's third birthday recently so we went to give her a little something and to spend some time with them. We hadn't seen them since Christmas. We had a great time and came back home yesterday. Fun to go and good to return home.
The other day I shared my newly painted (again) sofa table and thought we would look at the vignettes. It's just more of the things I collect put together.
I ordered a box of these little birds back in the fall and they were a rosey gold color so I painted this one with Miss Mustard Seed milk paint in Tricycle Red. Each bird is different and so far I have guilded one and painted this one.
I collect magnifying glasses and have placed a couple in this old crock and my favorite one is on the books with the bird.
I love these vintage scissors, but they have to stay in the jar so little grand fingers can't reach them. I placed them here so you could see them.
Jar filled with collected items.
This is one of my favorite lamps that I have had for years. It has moved all over the house.
The lamp shade is not original to the lamp. It is from Pottery Barn. I love switching out shades for a new look.
Under the table I have a collection of demijohns and a vintage basket filled with pillows.
Enjoy your Monday. Very foggy and gray out, but I have plenty of house work to do.

Your vignettes look very pretty on that table. Love those old scissors you found! I also love the glass jar filled with things. Hope you had a nice trip to TN. Isn't this weather ugly? I hate it! Saturday was beautiful. Mother Nature gave us one nice day just to tease us. Makes me yearn for Spring. I'm ready for Winter to be over if we're not going to get some snow. LOL!

Love all your collections that you always display so beautifully throughout your home!...i love the idea about painting the bird...i love using "bird accessories" but find that most of mine are "glittery" for Christmas...I think if I paint them, the "shine" will disappear...going to try!
ReplyDeleteAlways love your posts. Where did you order the birds from? I would love to order some as well.

Beautiful. I especially love your collection inside the jar - that is a great display!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful collections and interesting vignettes. You have a verty artistic eye and I love interesting ways that you arrange things to create a different look each time I come to visit. Love looking at beauty. You could easily style for a magazine and your gift must be genetic because I love looking at Kelly's home too!
ReplyDeleteYour vignette and table are gorgeous. I can't believe I didn't know those things were called demijohns. I wonder where they got their name?
