I had the pleasure yesterday of spending the day with my daughter and granddaughter. We had plans to go shopping at Ikea. I was on the lookout for curtains and my daughter needed a bookshelf for the play room.
Before we went to Ikea we went to lunch at this pizza restaurant called Antico which is close to Ikea.
I had shared on facebook the day before that I was going to Ikea and Sue suggested we try this place for lunch.
We arrived at the restaurant at 11:30 and they didn't open till 12. Well a line started forming so we thought it must be mighty good and we decided to wait, too.
That's my daughter and miss Leila waiting in line. Leila wasn't too happy about the wait and wanted to be held.
Well, let me tell you it was so worth the wait. While we were in line the owner came out and said some samples would come out in a minute and then when the ovens reached 1000 degrees he would open the doors.
You stand in line and place your order and then it is communal seating. So we grabbed a spot and then our pizza came out shortly.
This was the dough stacked on pans ready to be used.
The room was getting pretty warm from the three open ovens.
A pan of fresh mozzarella.
After we were full it was off to Ikea.
I got my curtains and my daughter got her Expedit bookcase.
Later we went to Pottery Barn and HomeGoods looking for some pillows for my daughter's living room. We are trying to spruce it up by adding some color. I will try to share pics later. We have to work on the wall over the sofa.
Before I left to go home Brooke gave me my Mother's Day gift. Aren't they cute?
Now I need a pedicure for sure.
Look at the cute bag. Yes, Paris, I will see you in September!
Happy Mother's Day and have a great week!
omg! you make me want to completely change our mother's day plans!!! fresh baked pizza & ikea is a very good day indeed ;)

ReplyDeleteSounds like a great day and the shoes are cute too. Happy Mother's Day to both you and the special moms in your life.
ReplyDeleteOMG...I have heard about Antico lines before but all the times I have been we have walked right in...we also always bring a cooler with ice and plastic cups and although you can not bring in your won drinks they don't care if you bring in ice...I gotta have my cup of ice...I'm surprised while you were down there that you didn't go to the Ballard's Warehouse which is right around the corner half regular prices/half markdowns...and next time you go down you'll have to try Star Provisions for their Muffelatta...that's just as good as the pizza....
ReplyDeleteHi Kimmie! Looks like a fantastic day! Happy Mother's Day to you!

Antico is one of my sons' favorite places to eat in Atlanta. Thank you so much for the pics to see what it is like. He said that the best thing about their pizza is "the little pockets of mozzarella." His favorite is their Diabola. Your sandals looked cute, and it sounds like a very fun day all around
