I have been adding a bit of summer in the sun room. I think nothing says summer like the sea.
I really need to get some non glare glass for this shadowbox. I'll add that to my to do list. Remember that I had this framed naval shirt of Mr. Savvy's in the guest bedroom before the makeover? Well, I am glad it works here for a summer vignette.
I pulled this coral from the master bathroom to use under a cloche.
I grabbed this little bamboo lamp from my hoarding room stash and the brass RH lamp has moved to another room.
I added my ticking striped pillows to the bench and placed my doggie pillow here since a different pillow has been placed on the sofa. That's for another post.
I also grabbed this old PB lantern from my stash and added a seafan to it and placed this on the t.v. cabinet.
I added this photograph, that I took last fall and had made into a canvas, on the wall above the red bench.
Simple changes just by shopping the house is all it took to add a summer vibe.
If you don't remember how this looked before you can see it here.
Changing things up seasonably keeps things fresh.
Do you do that?
I hope you come back tomorrow for another fabulous favorite room.
I do. To em shopping the house for treasures placed in another area , given a whole new life is the best!
ReplyDeleteLuv the new summer vibe in the sun room Kim. Hmmm what's tomorrow I wonder?
Hugs, Gee
Oh love how you transformed the room with the vignettes of the sea...I was wondering where that great navy shirt would land...and where's the vintage bathing suit...would we find it in the room soon?...Love, love what you have done...and so happy to see the orchid still lives!!!
ReplyDeleteKim.....perfect! I love these changes!
ReplyDeleteI love it Kim and so glad to see Mr. Savvy's navy shirt. I like it there for summer!
ReplyDeleteLove the changes and love the "sea" themes. I change things up all the time and it drives my hubby crazy....LOL He never knows what he will find when he gets home from work. :-) Keeping it fresh!
ReplyDeleteI change with the seasons to. It makes things look clean and fresh to me. Also keeps you from getting tired of things. Your summer look is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI like your changes
ReplyDeletewish I still had a sun room this home doesn't have one and I miss it so much
I really like the sailor shirt framed
Looks great! Nothing like shopping the house. I do it regularly!
ReplyDeleteI don't make that many changes for the seasons. I use many family and personal type accessories that have meaning to us. I don't change these type things often. I like our "collected over time" look. I did change pillows/throw in our sunroom and pillows, etc. in the great room, but that's about it. I feel like our house tells the story of us, our life, even past generations. That's more important to us than keeping things fresh. We decided long ago to use things we love and that have meaning to us/our family. Those are things we don't seem to tire of.

ReplyDeleteHi Kim, Yes, I like to keep things moving as I clean and redecorate. I tend to get stuck in ruts nonetheless. You always inspire me to try something new. Thanks for your lovely decorating!
ReplyDeleteKim,
ReplyDeleteLooks great-love how you are bringing the sea to your home. I do the same myself, just added a new vignette to my tea cart.
