How is everyone's holiday weekend going? We haven't done anything fun much. While a lot of y'all are out enjoying picnics, cookouts, swimming, boating, vacationing, etc. I have painted a piece of furniture, cut the grass and bought groceries. Yep, fun fun.
Let's continue looking at the changes made here and there after we finished painting the walls. Today we'll visit the stair landing area.
Here is the before look when I had this farm painting hanging here.
I showed you the painting in its new location.
I also showed you how I didn't add the large clock and antlers back on the wall below the stairs. You can see the before here.
I moved the clock here over the bench.
I changed the pillows out. I have so many I have to change them up.
I also told y'all that I painted three things in one day recently. These bench legs are one of those things.
I just brushed some Versailles chalk paint over the already painted legs. Then a little distressing, wax and done.
Miss Bailey was following me while I took pictures.
The huge wooden tray that was on the dining room table is stored under the bench for now.
I know most folks prefer wood stairs, and in the future I would like to remove the carpet, but for now this works best with the grand kids for safety and riding on their little bums down the stairs.
Okay, y'all get back to your fun stuff. I have laundry and ironing to do.

I love the new updates on your stair landing....cute pillows too!
ReplyDeleteOMG, Kim all this time I thought the painting you called the "farm painting" was a wooly mammoth. I have seen it a ton of times and always wondered why you thought that was a farm animal. Oh, my I must get my eyes checked, I now see it is a hay mow and a person. I am so cracking up!!
ReplyDeleteLove the check bench, and your new arrangement is gorgeous. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteMore painting from you.....it just completes your day right:) Had big plans for today but with the rain I might have to start a project indoors or go shopping:)
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty and cozy spot! I love the new look. I wish our landing was big enough to put something on it. Such a fun spot to decorate! Enjoy your Labor Day - it's pouring down rain here!

Love the bench and pillows..
ReplyDeleteI might have to sorta kinda copy that in my entry as no table I try suits me eyes..
as always, thanks for all the great inspiration.

I luv the domino effect of decorating. ! thing leads to another. I am a fan of change :-)
ReplyDeleteI have a bit of ironing to do as well *grumble...grumble*
Pretty landing vignette.
Hugs, Gee
Looks great! I LOVE that painting too! It looks nice in that spot!
ReplyDeleteLove the clock in its new spot. The bench is so darling. Love the fabric! Love all your pics of Bailey. We've had 2 yorkies. Miss them.
ReplyDeleteLove all the changes, I am so in love with the pillows on the bench as well. :-) I guess Bailey loves the changes as well! LOL Have a blessed day!
ReplyDeleteI love that you change up your stuff as much as I do. My husband thinks I'm the only woman in the world who changes her furniture around. What is the fun of leaving it in the same place for 2 years?
ReplyDeleteLove it all! I'm in love with the fabric on your bench. Swoon. :)
ReplyDeleteKim,
ReplyDeleteYour landing looks great. I love the check on that bench and your pillows are fantastic. Love the clock moved there too. It looks fabulous. Happy Labor Day.
Kris
Your home is lovely Kim, and this area is no exception. I really like the bench and how you painted the legs. Your pillows and accessories are lovely and it is great that you can move them around. We have had a quiet weekend too. We had a big bbq last weekend because my niece headed off to University. My boys go back to high school [and work for me] tomorrow so just hanging out. I did finish waxing the big armoire in our family room and got quite the arm work out lol.
ReplyDeleteYour landing updates look great Kim, and I love those pillows! Hope Bailey is behaving herself today :)

The landing looks so cozy. I really like the clock over the bench. Not much fun here, either this holiday weekend. The weather has been crummy, and it's been raining today so far. Guess I'll head to the supermarket.
ReplyDeleteLove the new set up, looks great!! My new curtains in the living room are that same check fabric, love your pillows.....
ReplyDeleteYou have one of the prettiest landings!!!...There are not many landings in which you can just sit comfortably and enjoy the view!...and as far as the carpet..yes, great for kids and Miss Bailey too!
ReplyDeleteLove where you put the clock....and grands need soft stairs...way more important!!
ReplyDeleteI really like the vignette with the clock over the bench.
ReplyDeleteLooks beautiful Kim - that bench is perfect - and the check is just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI get the carpet for kids. You COULD do a runner too???? Just a thought. I LOVE having a runner. Remember I debated about getting it, but for SAFETY we chose to do it rather than the bare steps. I love that farm picture too. Well, I love your whole house! I did laundry today too, still have to iron, and also cleaned out and organized my DARN, TINY closet. It make sme crazy!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt all looks great Kim! I am thinking of ways to change ours up. Hope your weekend was a good one.
ReplyDeleteLove it, Kim. You continue to inspire me to paint. I think I'm going to take a leap of faith and paint the legs on our farmhouse table. Hubby gave the "go ahead" so I should jump on it...right?
ReplyDeleteThat bench is adorable, the check, the legs, love it! Great changes.
ReplyDeleteMy dear I know how you feel, all we did today was work. Oh well at least I was not alone.
ReplyDeleteI love all of your changes!
Your landing looks great Kim. I love the changes. My weekend was spent with a shedding dog and son visiting...lol. Now I have to clean up dog hair as well as construction dust!
ReplyDeleteLove your blog and your style. Can you do something about the super annoying pop up ad. Can barely read the blog for the repeating bra ads. It won't go away after you "x" it, it comes right back up.
ReplyDeleteI love it! I don't have room at the top of our stairs to do much other than on the walls. Love the clock the mostest!
ReplyDeleteSusan, I have no control over those. Are you reading on a mobile device? You may be able to set your settings for no pop ups. You have no reply comment blogger on so I had to reply here instead of by email.
ReplyDeleteLove the change Kim...your landing looks great!
ReplyDeleteLooks great Kim.....you cant go wrong with checks!
ReplyDeleteLove the clock! Looks great with the bench and pillows!
ReplyDeleteI worked too so I hope everyone had enough fun for both of us! Love the new vignette and seeing different angles of the house.
ReplyDeleteLove your landing with your bench and pillows Kim! Carpeted stairs are safer for all of us, I've ridden down the stairs on my bum a time or two :)
ReplyDeleteI have to say I know tiny little bums are loving it that your keeping the carpet. LOL That comment made me laugh, thanks you! and it brought back many a memory of bum walking downstairs.
ReplyDeleteLove the changes you made and the clock is gorgeous!
Ooooooo! Love how that turned out, Kim! And I love that little bench. Totally pinning, so when I start to redo our stairwell, I can remember that a bench would look fantastic up there. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderfully cozy spot! Love the changes that you made!
ReplyDeleteKim, I just love your changes! Especially, the clock and the painted legs. Hope you are happy with the paint color now that you've lived with it for awhile. Everything looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteKaren
Okay ... confession ... I've always thought your "farm picture" was one of a French mammoth beast (like Snuffaluffagus from Sesame Street). I'm cracking up right now as I now see what it truly is! Goodness.
ReplyDeleteI love your changes ... the clock is perfect!
Love the changes to your landing, and I have to admit that I thought your painting was of a woolly mammoth at first too!
ReplyDeleteEvery time I see your picture of the farmer and his giant bale of hay, at first glance, I see a giant wooly mammoth! :)
ReplyDelete-andi
Love the changes so inviting and the plaid on the bench is great!
ReplyDeleteKim -- looks so good. Love the bench, freshly painted legs and the clock and sconce. Awesome job! How do you have time for all of this...looks beautiful as always.
ReplyDeleteFessing up! I too envisioned that wooly mammoth LOL. In any case things are looking good at your place Kim!

ReplyDeleteHi Kim,
I always enjoyed looking at how decor changes in bloggers homes. It always inspires me to "mix things up."
Thanks for sharing the beautiful images of your home.
Suzanne
Love the new paint on the bench legs. It looks great. I also think of a wooly mammoth when I see that pretty artwork of yours.
