Well, most of you know I like cows in my decor. Not sure why, except that it is a French country style thing. It's not like I ever lived on a farm or anything. Most of you also know that I have changed what hangs over one of my guestroom beds more than once. That's normal around here.
But, one thing I can say at least I'm consistent. It's another "cow".
I found this at the Scott Antique Market in Atlanta last weekend. I know many of you are thinking that I could have easily made this. Well, it surely wouldn't be easy for me since I am no artist and by the time I bought very smooth plywood, chalkboard paint, barn wood trim, and asked Mr. Savvy to build it for me and to wait on him to get to it, it would not have saved me much since this was very reasonable.
I moved this cow art that did hang over the bed over by the reading spot.
The cow drawing is permanent and I need to get some chalk and an eraser and fix some spots on it. This of course would be perfect in a kitchen with something cute written on it. I am sure if it hasn't already been done many bloggers will copy this idea. The vendor also had pigs and chickens drawn on boards, too and three different sizes. Mine is a medium. The large ones were sold. This is very heavy so I wouldn't want one any bigger.
Another change I made in here was adding this red bench that I took out of the sunroom.
I love the red bench against the white bed and I stuck this old burlap pillow on top.
So three changes, but all still cows and I love this new one.
I still even like the first look, but for now this one works. :)
In a few days I will have a couple of blogging friends as guests and one will stay in this room and I promise this will not fall off the wall. fingers crossed
I hope y'all have a super week!
A woman can never have enough cows or roosters. My home is a testament to that theory. Have a wonderful week, Kim.
ReplyDeleteCan't remember if I told you but I LOVE the new look of your blog!
ReplyDeleteIt's a perfect addition to that room Kim. Love that patchwork pillow too, it looks like the new quilt I just bought for my son's room.
ReplyDeleteIt's a great addition for that cozy room! I am no artist either - so I am not someone who thought I could make it! Your guests will feel so welcome in there!

I love the chalkboard, Kim. I wonder if they do roosters. Between us, we could start a farm. A small one, anyway. By the way, I love the new look to your blog- it looks very consistent with your home style. So, yes, you are consistent. :)
ReplyDeleteLUV the chalk board cow Kim. He's perfect in the guest room.
ReplyDeleteI know... I am not a farm raised girl either.. city (NYC) but I am so drawn to the farm life and decor. A client asked for a chicken on a chalk board... she wants it for January. Hmmm.. she might want a cow next :-)

ReplyDeleteKim,
ReplyDeleteYour new chalkboard cow is quite original, both in its own design and for the design of the guest bedroom! I LOVE this room, and if it were me coming to your beautiful home, I don't think I'd sleep a wink as I'd be staring at the style strategies you filled it with, so that it shines as it does. That red bench is playful and perfect where you've placed it. Lucky, lucky blogger buddy...

That is SO my taste! I would have bought it, too, had I seen it. The guest room is so charming...your guests must not want to leave. The red bench really "makes" the room. It all looks great!
ReplyDeleteKim, I love the cow and I would have nabbed it too! So fun for it to be in an unexpected place. Love your white bed and red bench. I have a sleigh bed that is cherry wood. I let hubby pick it out when we bought it. It's old now and I thought I would paint it white this Spring. After seeing yours I know I will now! The quilt draped across the bottom is gorgeous also. Your guest will sleep comfy cozy for sure.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann
I sure wish I were that blogging guest coming to stay in this GREAT room! I love the cow art! It is perfect here. Have a great weekend.
