Hi there all of you Savvy Southern Style readers! My name is Cristina and I blog over at Remodelando la casa. I'm so thrilled to be a part of Kim's "My Favorite Room" series.
After the initial excitement when Kim invited me, my first thought was...
Of course the kitchen
But then, I kept on thinking on how this room has been seen "everywhere", and how it would be better to bring my bedroom instead of the kitchen.
Ha, I know, that's not my favorite room, yet!
So, the kitchen came, the room I spend most of the time with my family. This is how it looks now, after many DIY projects and lots of elbow grease.
It is also the room that started me as a blogger, when I was inspired to change the dated 90's look. I promised myself to do it the best possibly way I could, doing it on a budget, and documenting all the steps that were done.
After a few months, that same kitchen was transformed (paint, backsplash, range hood, lighting, trim work, etc.), all that hard work was more than worth it! This is how it looked after the big makeover.
It has stayed the same for almost two years, but lately I've done some changes, like bringing "new" chairs to the breakfast area, the ones before where a bit too bulky for the space and blocked the view.
Some branches from the yard or plain bottles brighten up those little nooks.
One more change came by simple taking off a door and installing a plate rack.
Simple changes that give interest and openness to this small kitchen.
Our homes keep changing, evolving
Thank you so much Kim, not only for your invitation to this wonderful series but for all your support!

Hi Nancy, they aren't my favorites. It is the guest blogger's favorite. I sure do miss you blogging!
DeleteSuch a beautiful kitchen remodel. I love the vent hood, but unfortunately that space in our kitchen holds a microwave (which I dislike very much). But alas, my husband loves the microwave there and we really can't afford to give up the counter space. What's a girl to do.....
ReplyDeleteThis is a dream kitchen. Enjoy
