I know this is a home and garden blog, but this is also the blog of a Grammy who has grandchildren with birthdays and when we attend and I take photos I will most likely share them.
Um, K?
Isn't the cake cute? Her other grandmother and great aunt made it.
We went to my daughter's house last Sunday afternoon to celebrate Leila's third birthday which was the 18th. I can't believe she is three already.
She loves Sophia so that was the birthday theme.
The weather was perfect so the party was in and outside.
Leila and some of her cute cousins.
Time to light the candles.
And in one big blow the candles were out! I love my daughter's expression.
Yum.
I caught Leila just sitting and looking at a book.
She ripped through her presents at lightening speed.
She changed from her Sophia dress into Minnie Mouse that received as a gift. That's daddy behind her.
This is the dining room turned playroom after the children were through destroying it. The tent was also a birthday present and they loved playing inside it together.
Happy Birthday sweet girl.
Oh, and happy birthday to your daddy on Tuesday.

What a little doll! The Minnie Mouse was the cutest thing. Love her looks you captured and that cake was stinking adorable. Happy Sunday!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Shannon.
DeleteWhat a precious little doll! They grow up so fast. Looks like they all had a really good time.
ReplyDeleteJudy

Andie
Thanks, Andie.
DeleteWell, who doesn't like Sophia the first?! What an amazing cake! Your grand daughter has the most beautiful blue eyes.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI was reading your blog when your daughter got married! So yes, it is hard to believe Leila is 3!! Such a cutie. I, for one, would rather you share pictures/stories about Leila and your other grandchildren, your children, husband, etc. It lets us see more the real person rather than shop, shop, paint, paint, etc. etc.
ReplyDeletetina
tina, my blog is about my home and the wacky changes I make and the shopping and painting. Yes, I do occasionally share the family, too when it is time to, but this is not a lifestyle or mommy blog. My kids got married in 2006 and I didn't start blogging until 2010. Thanks
DeleteKim!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to little Leila! She is a sweet three year old doll! Fantastic photos of the fun day! Thanks for inviting us in to your daughter's home and family celebration.
Poppy
Thanks, Poppy!
DeleteWhat a cutie! Alicia, my granddaughter will be turning 4 next week and I'm giving her a Sophia the first party Saturday. Love the cake! Alicia won't eat cake but I'll do a big cookie?? Maybe? Happy birthday Leila! Can't beat being a mawmaw!
ReplyDeleteI guess most of the little girls love Sophia the first. I have another granddaughter who will turn 4 in February.
DeleteShe is so cute, Kim! I can't believe she is three! Time flew by!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Pat. Yep, already three!
Deleteso much fun to see how much she has grown! adorable cake and decorations. we all love seeing all aspects of "life", and grandkids definitely are part of it all!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Debra. I just hate only sharing Leila since I have three other grands in Nashville that I am not around as much.
DeleteOh kim, she is absolutely precious. Princess sophia would be proud. Thanks for sharing the party.
ReplyDeleteThanks, girl!
DeleteKim,
ReplyDeleteShe is just adorable. What a cutie. My granddaughter is 3 too and it is such a fun age.
Kris
Thanks, Kris. This is such a fun age. So much discovering.
DeleteHi Kim, I still have such a hard time believing you are a grandma-you simply look too young. Happy Birthday to your sweet girl, she is a beauty. Seems we have granddaughters the same age-such fun. We are indeed blessed! Happy Birthday to your sil too. Thanks for sharing, looking forward to next weeks theme and all who share. Have a great evening.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Noreen
Oh, Noreen, you are too sweet. I am 58 and a grandmother of 4. :)

ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing your post tomorrow! :)
Julie, I hate just sharing Leila all the time when I have three other grands in Nashville. I just am around and babysitting Leila more so I like to share when I have photos of a special occasion and the occasional cute shots.
DeleteShe's so cute in her princess costume! Looks like she had a great birthday. I don't think I've ever seen so much pink and purple before! LOL!
ReplyDeleteOh, yes lots of purple and pink!
DeleteSuch a fun age! She reminds me of our oldest granddaughter who is just a month younger than Leila. Adorable! They grow up way too fast!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Vickie they sure do grow up way too fast.
DeleteKim, She's a doll! It's easy to see the resemblance from grandma to daughter to baby!!
ReplyDeleteBack to visit tomorrow for the tour :)
Thank you!
DeleteOh Kim! She HAS grown up way too fast. What a darling little girl! You must love her so so much. I'm so happy you shared your family with us! This is the first time I can remember seeing a picture of your daughter! What beauties! You are certainly blessed!
ReplyDeleteYvonne, I have shared photos of my daughter a few times in the past. Thank you!

ReplyDeleteThanks, Penny. She is always in on costume or another.

ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteI loved seeing Leila's party and all the fun little girl gifts. I can't believe she's three either, and such a little princess in her outfits. Too cute. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Babs.
DeleteOh how sweet. I can't believe she is already 3. She is so cute. love the little toy hair straightener.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Katie. Yes, the toy hair styling products are so fun.
DeleteKim, what a wonderful party that must have been! I understand, perfectly, about grandchildren. I've been known to post a time or two about them myself. Your Leila is totally adorable! The cake is just too cute. My grand-littles love Sophia the first, too, though I don't often see it, now that I am not taking care of the youngest ones. The youngest started K-5 this year, but I can tell you, I have seen plenty of Sophia(and every other Disney show). The girls look so cute in their costumes and that little owl barrette in Leila's hair is precious!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lynn. My oldest started K 5 this year.
DeleteI can't believe she's three already! It looks like she loves a lot of the same things my girls do :)
ReplyDeleteI can't believe she's three, too. thanks
DeleteKim, it seems like just last year that you were posting about her baby shower and birth. 3 years! Wow!
ReplyDeleteLeila is adorable as ever. Still has those gorgeous blue eyes! Happy Birthday, Leila!
It seems like it was just last year to me, too, Sarah. Thank you!

ReplyDeleteWhat a sweetheart Miss Leila is. Her princess outfit AND Minnie Mouse outfit are both so cute. Hard to believ she is 3. Your daughter really looks like you in this picture! You are truly blessed.
ReplyDeleteOh, is she sweet! Love her little princess outfit, and the Minnie Mouse, as well! And that cake is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to sweet Leila! Love her beautiful cake! Oh I miss those early years. My daughter is turning 14 this year, hard to believe! And she does not want a birthday party but wants us to take her out to dinner and her favorite store to pick something out.The years go by too fast!
ReplyDeleteWow!!! That went by fast! I remember when she was born! Wasn't that just a week or two ago?!?! What a precious gift she is to all of you!
