It now sits on the stair wall in the great room.
This chest that was here before is the one that moved to the area off of our garage that I shared here. So the sideboard in the foyer moved to this wall when the new buffet moved in. Are you keeping up?
Remember this large tray that I have used on my dining room table several times as a centerpiece filled with this and that? I was thrilled to find that it fits perfectly under the sideboard on the frame.
It now holds my grain sack collection and design books.
He then said he liked it. The world is officially coming to an end, y'all. :) He never says much about my vignettes.
I seem to have a thing for chairs....and pillows....and lamps.....and.
So when I was shopping the Restoration Hardware outlet a few weeks ago and everything was 40% off the price was too good on this cute one not to come home with me. I needed a smaller chair to go next to this long sideboard since the others were too big.
This vintage Belgian bulb basket sits at the other end of the sideboard and holds a warm throw.
Mr. Savvy has claimed this furry throw as his and you will find him wrapped up in it most cold nights in his comfy recliner and then he is out like a light.
I ordered this vintage bulb basket from Maria at Dreamy Whites. I believe she has more for sale.
So this is where the sideboard relocated, too.
I'm so glad I am usually able to move things from one room to another and it all works out.

Love your sideboards new home ..too funny about your husbands vignette comment :) It all looks fabulous! Love that basket !
ReplyDeleteLove the change. I too had to laugh about your husband's comment. I love when my husband "catches" on to these things. It is almost like a foreign language when they talk about decorating. Love it.
ReplyDeleteLove the green paint on the basket and your grain sack collection. Looks like you are getting all your treasures from France in place.
ReplyDeleteLove the change Kim and that pretty new chair!
ReplyDeleteVery nice change. I was wondering where that pretty piece would end up. Luv the vignette as well Mr. Savvy has wonderful taste :)
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so wonderful. You have a lovely home and the sideboard found the perfect spot too. Hugs P.S. I hope you will share this at the hop today
ReplyDeleteLove that vignette…I agree with Mr. S…how great is it that the tray fit under the buffet…like it was totally meant to be there!...
ReplyDeleteI had wondered where this piece was going because I've watched its transitions over the past few years! How wonderful that they tray fits right under it giving you an additional place to display some of your treasures. And I agree with Doug-the vignette is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteThat looks great there, Kim. A perfect spot for it. Whatever Mr.Savvy was drinking...well, you should keep it on tap! lol It slows him down enough to "notice" things. MyHero never notices anything either (usually)-unless I bring something new in and then he is on it like white on rice....and that, my friend, is why I HIDE things!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great on the stairwell wall Kim.
ReplyDeleteIt looks great in its new spot, Kim. I love the vignette, and how fortunate that the tray fits so perfectly. Richard has no interest in decorating- I know he has had enough when he tells me "it just needs a toile jabot" even though he has no idea what that is. It's kind of a code phrase for him that decorating is a bunch of nonsensical stuff. :D
ReplyDeleteI like the new arrangement. It looks good in that spot. Love the vignette too. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteVery pretty Kim! Love the new little chair too!~~Angela
ReplyDeleteLove the vignette Kim! Love that little bistro chair, as well.
ReplyDeleteWhatever you add seems to. Be perfectly at home. Don't you love it when the hubby actually notices your special touches?
ReplyDeleteThe world must be coming to an end...because I just posted about the same thing with my hubby!
ReplyDeleteHi Kim, I always love how you arrange everything....lots of treasures here to look at!!!!! I also wanted to tell you a big thank you for your weekly party. I just looked at my traffic sources in Blogger and I have gotten a sweet 2300 visits in 10 month coming from your lovely blog....wow......xoxoxo Christine from Little Brags
ReplyDeleteYou and Mr. Savvy are too cute. I knew that sideboard had to be relocated as it is one of your best pieces in my book anyhow.
ReplyDeleteOh Kim, I love your chest - it's beautiful and looks so good where you placed it. Isn't that just like a man - they never notice anything till you move what they like. So glad that he noticed your vignette.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.
Mary
Love what you have done with the sideboard, one of my favorite pieces you have!! The fact that the wood piece fit underneath is great for storing all your goodies. \We don't have all these outlets of these great stores that you have access to, bummer!
ReplyDeleteCynthia
If Mr. Savvy actually used the word "vignette," he gets extra points for knowing proper usage.
ReplyDeleteLove the changes!
Hi Kim,
ReplyDeleteI simply could not resist asking you a question regarding your husband noticing the vignette, out like a light in his favorite chair, and I believe you mentioned in an earlier post that he asked if you hadn't noticed the inlaid table damage before you bought it in France.
So, here's the question: are you sure you're not married to MY husband?
I just went to check, and he's still here in California!
Hahaha…I love the line about your hubby asking if you created that vignette! Shawn does that to or he comments about liking that new picture, pillow, etc I got and I tell him we have had it for 20 years and I've always had it on display.
ReplyDeleteLove that green hunt pillow too…that's beautiful!
Love the vignette! Beautiful as usual, Kim!
ReplyDeleteI think the cheapest way to redecorate is to move things from one place to another. I love the changes!
ReplyDeleteThe sideboard looks perfect in the new spot....love the vignette you created too! I used to have the same little dog painting in my room when I was a little girl :o)
ReplyDelete~Des
That really made me laugh. Like who else could have possibly created that vignette besides you (the blogger)? The vignette fairies? LOL
ReplyDeleteHi Kim,
ReplyDeleteLove the new location of the sideboard and your beautiful vignette. Score for you 10+ when the hubby notices the vignette. Awesome! Looks great.
Kris
The sideboard looks great there on the stair wall. YOu have the magic touch, glad Mr. Savvy has FINALLY noticed:):) Have a great weekend, Kim!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy you didn't get rid of the sideboard. It is one of my favorite pieces, besides all of your new french antiques. You are one busy lady, rearranging, painting rooms, painting furniture. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI love where you put the sideboard. It is just too pretty to hide out of sight!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you have a prominent place for your sideboard! It is so pretty, and looks lovely in it's new location. You KNOW I love that basket with the animal print throw! My son is the one who is wrapped up in ours every night!
