If y'all have read my blog for any length of time then you know I love to change out my decorative pillows around the house. I have a lot of pillow covers which make it easy to just switch them out for a new look. Well, one of the only things I do like to keep organized and in a place where I can easily find them is my pillow covers.
These are some of my pillow covers. I pulled them out to divide them up in different stacks either by theme or color. A few will not be going back in storage, but will either be sold or donated.
This is a stack of neutral colored ones. I actually forgot about that cover on the top.
This is my holiday stack.
Blues.
And a mismatched stack. Some of which may be leaving.
And the perfect spot to store them.
All nice and neat and in an easy place to get to them.
The bottom vintage hamper is full and the fish basket on top has a few other things.
These make the perfect storage spots.
Well, at least something is organized around here.

I am taking your tip and taking the stack of pillow covers out of the linen closet where I really could use more room and placing them in one of my blanket chests….great idea in stacking them by color and season…and you certainly do need that very large trunk to store all of your pillow covers!!!
ReplyDeleteSo many fun pillow covers, Kim, they make me want to shuffle through them to see them all! I love baskets for storage, they hide a multitude of sins!
ReplyDeleteThis is brilliant. The key to using what you have is easy accessibility. I just may have to steal this idea!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness. You have more pillow covers then Ballards and Pottery Barn combined! I will be happy to look through your extras next time I see you!
ReplyDeleteKim this is a great idea. I also have a lot of pillow covers and I can never find them or I forget I had some of them. I will do this today, thanks for the inspiration!

Love all your pillow covers! I't so much better to be able to store these than if all of those were full pillows! The baskets are perfect for them... I think that's where my favorite turtle shell came from :)
ReplyDeleteWow Kim you have a pillow cover for every occasion and they are all beautiful. You should have a sale on you blog or a giveaway for the ones you are thinking of get rid of, they would go for sure :)
ReplyDeleteThose trunks are perfect for storing your pillow covers. Practical and pretty.
ReplyDeleteWOW! What a pillow cover collection! Those large baskets are perfect for storing items that can be folded and they look great, too!
ReplyDeleteYou really have a large collection of pillow covers! But hey, it runs in the family. I have quite a bit too. But I'm not near as organized as you in that area. What a great idea to put them in that basket! Mine are in my attic because I have a lot of pillows in them along with the pillow covers. It's quite a mess too and a hassle to have to get them out of the attic. I like your idea much better.
ReplyDeleteWhenever you are getting rid os ANY of your pillow covers please LET ME KNOW!!!! Would love to maybe buy some from you! You sure have ALOT! Are they all from PB??? Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteI too love pillow covers. So easy to change the look of a room instantly. Love the baskets!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! I love love love all your pillow covers! I have that same addiction too. And I think your organization solution is my very favorite. So decorative and organizational at the same time! Brilliant, as always! BTW, I'm thrilled to hear that you are not organized... me too! If you were organized I'd be very intimidated to have you come to StoneGable .... IN THE FALL! I've been talking to Shirley. You should plan a trip up here with her!
ReplyDeleteGreat place for your pillow covers Kim! I have mine upstairs in the walk in closet of our daughter's old room, but having them in a basket (or on of my armoire's) in the family room would be accessible since I hardly ever go upstairs.
ReplyDeleteI so have to do this, I have two I can't find! Putting them all in one place would be a smart thing to do.
ReplyDeleteLove Miss Bailey's picture♥
Kim I use the wicker trunk in my living room for the same thing...great minds think alike:)
ReplyDeleteWOW Kim, you do have a lot of pillow covers! I would take your cast-offs in a heartbeat! Love how you placed them in these wicker chests, your storage is even very beautiful to display! I have a small room with steel shelving inside and that's where I put all the decors I don't use. For the Pillow covers I hang them up using skirt hangers!
ReplyDeleteI can always use organizational ideas, Kim...baskets are some of my favorites...yours look wonderful!
ReplyDeleteKim, I sure need these tips, oh my, thank you so much! Okay lady, I was wondering about your pillows, great place to store them!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
All of those pillow covers! I'm in heaven! :)
ReplyDeleteKim, the baskets are a great idea for storage. We have some wooden chests that we use as tables, so the inside is a great place to store a variety of things. Good luck with your organization. I'm trying to do the same around here. Take one closet at a time. Slow going! '-)
ReplyDeleteHi Kim, I too love this idea. I'm like you in that everything may looks organized but if you were to open my dresser or closet, you'd see differently. Of course, I blame it on my mom~when I was growing up if someone was coming over my mom said to hide everything in the closets, under the bed or in the drawers. Things always looked good on the outside but on the inside it was chaos. Still that way in my home. In fact, I hope that when we move to organize all my fabrics in a easy way to keep them like that. I am also purging lots of things since I am packing too.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Noreen
Love eww if ya wanna get rid of the green and white striped ones holler I love them!!
ReplyDeleteI am afflicted with the same kind of unorganization, but most often I do know where "Stuff" is, at least.
ReplyDeleteSuch a great way to store them! I'll be doing a lot of organizing after we move! Let me know if you ever want to get rid of any of those covers;)
ReplyDeleteLove the basket - perfect place to store your stash - which is huge!
ReplyDeleteKelly
I feel less lonely!
ReplyDeleteManu
Kim I totally chuckled to myself, because I too am the same exact way. People think I am so organized. If they really only knew LOL!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea Kim, I love to stick things in places that hold some storage. I try to use every space in my little house. Thanks for sharing today, have a great week.
ReplyDeleteI just bought my first Pottery Barn pillow cover. It's red ticking and I'm so excited to use it this summer. You are so smart to change out the covers instead of having a bunch of pillows. I have too many and they take up so much room. Looking forward to seeing the other links.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea Kim! I love all your pillow covers :)
ReplyDeleteDebbie
It's funny, I am super-organized in some areas...and disasters in others! Great idea for the pillow covers!
ReplyDelete-Shelley
Great job, Kim. It is great you keep those pillow covers handy. They do make for a quick change up on a moment's notice. I am pretty well organized but I have way too much stuff organized. lol I really need to pare down and get rid of a bunch of stuff. Love the baskets for storage. I am amazed at how "pretty" some people make their storage. I think I need to do a bit of "pretty " when I organize things. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea for storage. I need to hunt down some wicker trunks like yours.
ReplyDeleteKim what a great idea for your pillow covers. I am now on the look out for a wicker chest to put mine in.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing.
Mary
Kim,
ReplyDeleteI have a stack of fishing kreels too and they are filled with seasonal decorations.
I love all of your pillow covers!
I definitely have pillow cover envy, Kim ... love your collection and great way to store them!
ReplyDeleteKim you have such a great collection of pillow covers. Any that you want to donate you can send my way, LOL!! Great way to store them.
ReplyDeleteCynthia
Great idea for your collection ~ I would have bet a lot of money every inch of your house was totally organized!! : )
ReplyDeleteSounds like you might just organize a bit like I do. So sometimes do you forget where you have "stored" things? It's ok to stuff my stuff in strange places, I've just got to start stuffing similar stuff in the same vicinity!
