Gridley and Graves photographers arrived 9 am and stayed till after 7pm. Lots of equipment was brought in.
Several varieties of flowers were brought. These were sitting in a bowl of water waiting to be used.
Food like this strawberry rhubarb pie was used, too.
Not a lot of my stuff was moved or changed, but they did a different set up on the coffee table and with the furniture in this room. It was fun watching how they would change the room for the perfect shot.
Mr. Savvy's recliner got kicked to the curb. Sorry, dear.
This would not be a good daily set up, but in the camera's eye this looked right.
It was a very long day and I was thrilled to have my home chosen. Mine was not shot for a monthly magazine, but for one of those specialty ones. So I'm not sure if it will show up in maybe a fall issue or it may be spring of 2015. So now the hard part of waiting.
:)
You can find out more info about Gridley and Graves here.
Looks like we are in for another major winter storm event here and this one could be worse. I pray we don't have an ice storm and lose power. That shouldn't happen, if it does, until tomorrow so be sure to come back tonight for our party!
Kim this is uber exciting. I am so happy for you. I really do love the bench there, but yes, not practical for day to day living.
ReplyDeleteCongrats Kim! I think that is one of all of us gals dreams. So happy for you. Stay warm! It is only suppose to be in the 30s for us today and rainy but no snow.

ReplyDeleteI loved getting to see these pics from your big day! It's fun to see how they moved things around to get just the right pic. I really like how they styled your coffee table and moved the furniture in your family room. I know that it wouldn't work for everyday, but it really does look pretty! The pink roses they brought are beautiful! Did you get to keep the props they brought?

Kim,
ReplyDeleteThis is so exciting and so well deserved. I had Gridley and Graves here at the end of the summer for some up coming magazine issues due out this spring and summer. They are the sweetest couple and take the most beautiful pictures of your home. I remember it being a long day but it will be so worth it when you see the beautiful pictures in your feature. Congrats. I bet they were so impressed with your beautiful home.
Kris
Congratulations Kim. Such exciting news. Can't wait to see it when it comes out.
ReplyDeleteKristi
Kim, congrats that is such a big accomplishment, but I don't blame the mag for wanting to feature your home, it's truly stunning.

Congratulations Kim!!! How funny about the recliner. :) They pack a lot into one day, don't they? And it is always interesting to see how things that look lovely for the camera don't always work great in real life. I pray you (and I) don't get the ice that is being predicted. I hope you have stocked up on things in case you lose power and that you have a non-electric heat source. Stay safe girl!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful roses you are lucky! Congratulations well deserved!

Congrats. I own the magazine and leave it to Ann and Gary to do a great job at making your home look great in the magazine! I too had them shoot my home back in 2005 for Country Decorating Ideas and it took till 2007 for it to appear. Last week I had photographers here shooting for Country Sampler magazine and now I am doing the waiting game again. I said that I never would do this again, but since my home is finally close to 'done'...I wanted to see professional shots. And Country Sampler is not the kind of magazine you would think of for my home but they said that they we breaking out of the mold people know them for. The photographers stayed for two days like Ann and Gary did back in 2005. That's a lot of pictures and a long slow process.
