After a little bit of cleaning and polishing I have nice shiny bright copper again.
This is an old photo showing how tarnished they were.
The top mold is a new one I ordered from an etsy shop. You can find some at good prices on etsy. I just googled vintage copper molds and there were several.
this rooster mold is a fave.
The beautiful fruit mold is the only copper piece I purchased in France and at a great price.
I have several vintage pieces hanging from my pot rack. I found the large tea kettle last fall for only $29. I have seen them for over $100.
This is another mold like the rooster one and look how cute this is.
It's a cute tea or coffee pot. It was tarnished badly and cleaned up nicely. This was found on etsy, too.
I love these old copper measuring cups that Susan of Maple and Magnolia was sweet enough to send me.
Two molds that I have had for awhile hang by the aprons.
This old strainer hangs in this nook.
I used Bar Keeper's Friend cleaner. As soon as you pour some on it lifts the tarnish away. Just rub it all over and rinse and dry. So easy and no polishing or strong odors.
I have seen prices all over the place for these old molds. I haven't paid more than $60 for any of them and that would have been for one of the larger ones. All the others were much less.
Check out etsy and ebay for the best prices.

I love old copper molds, too. We always had them hanging in our kitchen when I was growing up. I sell them occasionally in my Etsy shop, when I can find them. xo Laura
ReplyDeleteBeautiful copper molds. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful collection! Cross your fingers for me there is an Estate Sale today with a ton of Copper pots! Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteOh, I wish I could find some at reasonable prices. I should have bought some in France at 12 euros each which is probably about $16.
DeleteLove your collection ... look so "perty" all shined up!
ReplyDeleteVery nice collection! I like that pot rack and the mix of things you have on it. I could kick myself for selling off my copper pieces I had collected a long time ago.
ReplyDeleteYour collection of molds is so pretty! My mom and dad were given a copper mold in the shape of a rooster when they got married in 1960. That rooster mold hung in every kitchen they ever had. My mom died in 1999, and my dad gave away most of my mom's things, but that rooster mold hangs in his kitchen to this day! :)
ReplyDeleteBar Keepers Friend is a miracle product! Your copper molds are amazing and what a treasured collection.
ReplyDeleteYou have a great collection Kim...they looked so pretty all shined up!
ReplyDeleteI meant look lol!
ReplyDeleteVery Pretty Kim. I still love seeing the vignette you have below the strainer. So adorable. Makes me smile to see how you have that.

You have such a nice collection of molds.
ReplyDeleteI love the feel of warmth copper gives to a kitchen.
Especially when it's shiny and clean!
I love all of your copper Kim. I have a copper fleur de lis and rooster similar to yours. Mine need polishing too. I have always used a copper polish. I will try the Bar Keepers Friend. Thanks for the tip!
ReplyDeleteKim, I love your copper collection. You have a beautiful collection. I'm going to look for the Bar Keepers
ReplyDeleteFriend.
Kathy
Love your copper collection and how you have them beautifully displayed.... I need to get the Bar Keepers Friend as I have some copper that desperately needs cleaning!..
ReplyDeleteLooks beautiful! I too have a very large collection of molds and copper pots. Don't use them at this time. Different type of kitchen. Bar Keeper's friend is great!
ReplyDeleteWhat a GREAT collection! I'll have to keep that Bar Keepers Friend in mind! Life to the full! Melissa @ DaisyMaeBelle
ReplyDeleteYour copper is all so beautiful I need to get some of the Bar Keeper's so I can polish a couple of things. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteThe new liquid barkeepers friend is fabulous for copper. It also seems to retard re-tarnishing. It is wonderful for my copper pots and pans.
ReplyDeleteNow I wish I still had all my moulds -- I sold them at a yard sale for very little!
You have a beautiful collection Kim. I love the way you have it displayed. Just another beautiful accent to your gorgeous home.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great collection. I never thought about a copper mold collection, I just might have to look for some on my next antique shop outing. Thanks for sharing, I just love your design taste.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful collection Kim. Makes me want to start one of my own.
ReplyDeletehappy today. lazy day weather... pouring rain.
Hi Kimmie! Oh, I just love your copper molds! You have some really pretty ones and they did shine up nicely. Love your pot rack too with all of your thingys hanging down. I see that little cow creamer. You know this helped me get started looking for mine! ;)
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia;)
I didn't know about using BKF on copper. That stuff is great on so many things! I do not have anything copper in our home, but I have a huge old copper boiler on my front porch. It looks like verdigris now. I love the patina of aging copper - love the green. I use my boiler as a planter.

Oh my gosh, Kim - have you been in my kitchen?? My neighbor moved and gave me several copper molds. I just pulled them out this weekend to see where I could put them. They also need to be polished, so now I know what to use! I'm inspired now, to get this done, as your collection looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThose copper molds look perfect in your kitchen. They are so country french. I like how they look all cleaned up.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your copper. I can't seem to make it work in my kitchen which is a bummer!
ReplyDeleteI love the look of copper, but it's usually quite expensive if it's new, like cooking pots for example. But it looks so pretty in a kitchen!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the shine, Kim. You have quite a nice collection. And you display it so beautifully!
ReplyDeleteBoy, this makes me so sad: I had a great collection of copper molds, pots, a colander, grater etc. and got rid of them!!!!!!!!!! This was pre blogging plus I didn't think anyone used them anymore. I could KICK myself, they would be vintage by now:):) Your collection is beautiful, I wondered if you still had the molds hanging there. I love the molds, pots and that kettle is amazing!!!
ReplyDeleteAfter reading this post this morning, I thought of you when I was in the local antique mall today where I saw a copper ice bucket for $6.95. Then, I saw this listing for canisters at Oliver and Rust.

(Not that I'm trying to be an enabler, but if you're like me, if it's not that, it's pillows, or some other thing I collect ;o) Love the unique shapes of some of the ones you've found.
Pretty! It sparkles, too!
ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful Kim. You have inspired me to bring out my mama's. I LOVE your Cow mold!
ReplyDeleteI love copper- have since the 70's! I gave my oldest daughter quite a few of my pieces but kept a couple. I have a copper prep sink in my kitchen and that is all I use on it- Barkeeper's Friend...the powder. I don't like the liquid Barkeeper's AT ALL! Your pieces are gorgeous!!!!!
ReplyDeleteKim, I've never tried the Bar Keeper's cleaner, but my husband recently purchased a can of this product for me to try. I'm the one who polishes "his" copper collection. '-) Glad to know it works so well.
ReplyDeleteYou have a lovely collection. Fun to see your molds.
Oh no Kim - you may have led me to start collecting copper molds!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the cow!
Kelly
Copper is not something I have ever purchased but you have a Wonderful Collection! Thank you for sharing it with us. I'll be thinking you us when I see pieces now :)
ReplyDeleteSo pretty Kim, they shine so nicely...going over to Etsy to see the prices!
ReplyDeleteYour collection is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteYou have a beautiful collection, Kim! My faves are the one with the fruits and the rooster.
ReplyDeleteKim,
ReplyDeleteI love your collection! Thank you for the tip, I never knew that you could use barkeepers friends to clean copper.
I hope that you have a wonderful weekend!
Hi Kim: I have a question, is that bead board wall paper you used in the shot with your aprons or real bead board? Thanks for your reply.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful copper collection!
