Creating French Country Style With Collections

I can't believe a month has already gone by since our first post in this monthly series. This month we are sharing collections that evoke French country style. That is sure no problem for me. I have several collections that you would probably find in a French home.

My old copper pots hang from a pot rack, but the French do cook with theirs.

Vintage copper molds hang on the wall.

Collections of dishes.....

such as ironstone, transferware and old crocks.

Old books, too.

Ironstone on the wall and another collection I have is the roe deer antlers and other larger antlers.

I have them hanging here and there. You will find these in many European and English homes.

I got the idea for this gallery wall and the antlers from my favorite French country designer, Charles Faudree.

He also used a lot of dog art in his homes.

I was so thrilled to find this one with my birth date on it. You can read more about that here.

Demijohns are a great French country item to decorate with. This huge amber one is from my trip to Normandy last fall and they are harder to find.

I have several green ones.

I also love the wicker wrapped jars. I have several sizes of these.

I have even converted a couple into lamps. So easy with a lamp kit.
You can read my tutorial here.

I hope this gives you an idea of some collections that say French Country.

Please check out these other lovely ladies' collections, too.

  1. Bonjour,

    Gros bisous ❀ ❁ ❤︎ ❤︎ ❤︎ ❁ ❀

  24. You have lovely collections! I have many as well, so I guess I must be French. I don't collect wicker wrapped jars, though, as my cottage is too small for such a collection, but they remind me of my grand-father so much.

I am going to choose pieces I really love. I purchased two pieces from her when we were in t he old house and saved them since I Knew we were moving. It will be so great to see them soon. I also love your demijohns.
