Well, this week sure started off with a bang! If you follow me on instagram and facebook then you saw what happened to me yesterday. Thanks so much for your healing wishes. I was just minding my own business and emptying the dishwasher and I had a coffee mug in one hand and a glass in the other and then I started to drop one of them, I don't even know which it happened so quickly, and my reflexes set in and said catch them and don't let them fall. WRONG, the two clashed together along with my hand and the glass won and I lost. As soon as it happened I knew it wasn't good. Blood was already flowing and I grabbed a paper towel and a clean dishcloth and applied pressure. Hunted for my phone and called Mr. Savvy. Come take me to get stitches! Bam! he is on his way and within the hour I had five stitches. The bad thing is they have to stay in a minimum of ten days because the cut is below my thumb on my left hand in a muscle that is used quite a bit. Bummer! Thank goodness I'm right handed and I was thrilled to hear I can get my hand wet as long as it is in clean water .Sure can't go with dirty hair for that long or even a day. Bad thing is the more I type the more it hurts so no features this week. I normally get the post done on Mondays. Sorry. Glad I had this morning's post already done along with a few others. If it feels better soon I may share some features later this week. Besides me and my boo boo, I had already taken Miss Bailey back to the vet yesterday morning for an abscess on her back from her vaccines three weeks ago. She had a hole oozing blood all weekend. Geesh! She is on antibiotics for that. Poor baby was fine until her check up three weeks ago. Then we found out she had a broken molar that needed to be pulled. So she had surgery last week and she has stitches, too and can only have food in the form of pudding for two weeks. So I have been mixing her food with water and making mush and then mixing baby food in. When it rains it pours...
So with all the drama aside let's get this party started. I can't wait to see what you share this week!
Please read the guidelines before participating:

ReplyDeleteoh Kim, I am so sorry, that is nasty, I had something similar happen, it does take time to heal, and do what they say cause I did not and it did permanent nerve damage, your poor pup and you need a vacation!!
ReplyDeleteWhoa! I have the SAME injury on my right hand! It happened two days ago! How weird is that? Hurts like the DICKENS...doesn't it? I cut mine while I was re-doing a chandelier...I was cutting part of the wrought iron arms off and I cut myself and didn't even notice until the blood started flowing! I am typing with my middle finger and I'm not even mad! LOL!
ReplyDeleteGet better! My hair is really super long so I get to go to the salon every other day to have it done...not ALL bad! LOL!

Bless your heart!!! What a terrible week you've had! As soon as you said you couldn't wash your hair, I pictured Mr. Savvy sudsing you up, a la "Out of Africa" with Robert Redford washing Meryl Streep's hair. OOooooo! There may be a silver lining after all.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get to go out to dinner a lot!

You poor thing - an injured hand is so frustrating! I hope you and Bailey heal quickly!
ReplyDeleteMorning, Kim! Oh those wicked, sneaky dishes and dishwashers! They lull you into a sense of security in the day to day activities - everyone cooperates until one or two glasses and in my case a knife decide to become precocious! Your cut must have been quite deep! You got the better of the glassware - that's for sure - you'll heal and hopefully quickly - I appreciate you hosting and hope you have a blessed Easter!
ReplyDeleteKathy

ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting and hope you have a great Easter!
Hugs
So sorry for the thumb injury!! What a pain, literally! If you can believe this, I had stitches in both thumbs, not at the same time, but exactly one year apart. The worst part? It was the same ER doctor stitching up my thumbs both times and the second time he remembered me!! I was using a razor blade to scrape a label off a can, and I think I did the same dumb thing a year later. I guess that is as long as my memory stretches for dumb things not to do. Hope your thumb heals quickly!
ReplyDeleteOh Kim, so sorry to hear about your hand and Bailey. Praying for a speeding healing for both of you. Thanks for hosting this party and enjoy some time off. Happy Easter to you and your family!
ReplyDeleteOh Kim, I am so sorry to hear about your hand and Miss Bailey. It's been a terrible week for me too, I had to put my beloved golden Tristan down on Monday night. He was 10. I hope that your hand heals quickly for you. I know I can say to you try not to use the hand too much but, I know that it will be hard for you. Sending you love and prayers xoxox
ReplyDeleteYikes Kim, that doesn't sound good. Sending you healing thoughts and wishing you a Happy Easter (hope you're not hosting). Thanks for the party!

So sorry about your hand Kim, hope the typing wont be too difficult too!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for hosting, Kim! So sorry about your stitches. My first year of teaching first grade I chopped off the tip of my left thumb on our school paper cutter. I got to walk around with my left arm in a sling for a few weeks and my thumb bandaged up as big as a microphone. We sure take our working hands for granted, don't we? Wishing you a speedy recovery!
ReplyDeleteOh my - take care. It is so easy to get an infection in cuts like that. Hope your furbaby is on the mend also. Thanks for hosting!
ReplyDeletewhat a rough week!! Hope you are all on the mend quickly. Thanks for hosting :)
ReplyDeleteOuch! I am sure you aren't feeling all that well today, but hopefully the healing will start quickly. It is always such a shock when we realize how much we use a hand or arm or whatever it is we can't use for a while.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry you injured your hand, Kim. What a trooper you are to go ahead and host the party. Thank you, and take care of yourself. ~ Nancy
ReplyDeleteI did see your stitches on Instagram, Kim! Glad you weren't hurt more extensively and that all went well in the repair. Heal quickly!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about your cut and little Miss Bailey. I am so glad you knew to apply pressure and Mr. could get you to the emergency room stat. Nothing material is worth getting badly injured. Poor little MB - My little ones have to have their shots in increments because all at one time is too much. I learned the hard way by doing them in one visit and he was in severe pain and just screaming. We had to give him aspirin (baby dose) and major TLC. I hope you're both feeling 100% very soon.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness Kim. I'm so sorry about your hand. That's so scary with all that blood, and poor Miss Bailey too. You both need some serious TLC, please relax and take care. Sending you all my positive prayers for a speedy recovery.
ReplyDeleteHave more pix of the pond.
ReplyDeleteHope the hands heals quickly

ReplyDeleteGosh Kim, you really have had a bad week, 5 stitches sounds very painful, I do hope you heal soon. Also sad about your little dog, I hope she recovers too. Next week will be brighter for you I am sure. I have linked up some cheats Easter cakes, I was really pleased how the photos turned out.
ReplyDeleteLee :)
I'm sorry to read about you cut and stitches. I cut one of the muscles near the thumb years ago: you have to be patient. It takes some time to heal. Be a good girl and don't move that muscle too much. Best wishes to Miss Bayley as well!
ReplyDeleteOuch Kim, that sounds bad. Glad Mr. Savvy was quick to get you some medical care. Hopefully you and Miss Bailey will be back in the swing of things soon. Take it easy, hoping you'll be healed up soon.
ReplyDeleteHope your hand is better and you both are on the mend.
