I took plenty of pics before and during the market. Shirley and I also arrived a bit early thinking that we would get to join some other bloggers to tour the Design House before it opened to the public, but since our name wasn't on the list, since I did not know about the sign up thing, we weren't getting in we were told.
I found that a bit harsh to tell two bloggers who traveled many many miles to get there plus we got up really early to get to this on time that they couldn't get in unless our name was on this list. Oh, well, no problem we toured it later and it wasn't that bad.
The first few photos are of buildings on the property that are outside the market area that I walked around and took some shots of.
How about a nap on this truck? After standing for over two hours this looked pretty good.
The vendors were setting up and this stand was popping a bunch of popcorn and that is all we smelled while we waited.
More of the buildings on the property.
This would make a cute pot rack.
This one, too. I would have gotten this one probably if I didn't already have the one I just got.
After walking around and taking some shots the line was forming to get in. The place was one big wet muddy mess from the five inches of rain on Thursday.
Our hubbies were troopers and I would not have been able to go if Mr. Savvy had not gone with me. Oh, and he was just holding the camera for me for a bit. He has no clue how to use it. I took this with my phone. I see Shirley was texting on hers.

The gate opened and everyone made a bee line for Marian aka Miss Mustard Seed's booth.
Hay had been spread in all the really wet spots.
Hey, Dude I'm not taking your picture.
This was my blogging pal Kristen's booth. She had some beautiful things.
Love these beautiful doors.
How about a wall of doors and shutters?
It was fun having some blog readers come up and tell me they read my blog. It was so nice meeting them.
I shared day one and some shots of my loot dumped in the house (and it is still there) here.
Another fabulous favorite room here tomorrow.
What a fun time with lots of treasures. I love the truck bed turned into a sleeping bed.
ReplyDeleteYou got some great shots and a great feel for the "Market".... yes, that truck bed was hysterical!!...It certainly was a good thing that we got there early !...and kudos to our hubbies for being such great sports!!!
ReplyDeletefor a minute there i thought you were going to tell us that the husbands took a nap in that bed and then tried to make it when they were done. was it really that crowded? oh my, looks devine but not sure I would want to stand in mud waiting to spend money! :)
ReplyDeleteHow disappointing to not be able to get in the house, but it sounds like you were flexible and rolled with it. Everything looks so exciting and festive. It must have been worth that long, rainy drive!
ReplyDeleteI would have made a beeline straight for Marian's booth, too--I LOVE her stuff! I am so glad you got to go and that you took all these wonderful pictures to share. I feel like I got to live the adventure vicariously! Thanks so much for sharing!
ReplyDeleteSuch great stuff!! I would have loved being there, just exploring!
ReplyDeleteWe had a great time too and loved meeting fellow bloggers. I have to agree though as we have been to Luckett's a few times and I love the store but the staff always seem pissed off. Something in the air?
ReplyDeleteIf you go next year I'll be there! LOVE seeing all the booths and the great "stuff". I see the frames I bought for my dining room wall! Great post Kim! Looks like you had a great time!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your great photos with us. It is unfortunate that the staff was a little less than accommodating!
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to be able to see the event through the eyes of your camera! Great pics! Looks like a lot of great stuff for sale.
ReplyDeleteI cannot believe they wouldn't let you in! Don't they know who you are? :)
ReplyDeleteThanks to you and your blog I now know what Lucketts is!!! My heart beats faster just thinking about the possibilities. One question, how are the prices at this fabulous sale? Good? Typical? Average?
ReplyDeleteI just spotted you and Shirley in Miss Mustard Seed's post. Shirley is in another picture too! http://missmustardseed.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/MSI_6549.jpg
ReplyDeleteLuckett's is now officially on my bucket list! What I would really like to do is just travel, with a trailer in tow, on back roads, through small towns, stopping at yard sale and flea markets and small shops and filling the trailer full of treasures! Want to join me? Glad you had a good time despite the early arrival and not being on the list.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite things today....
ReplyDeleteOh, I would love to find a whole wall of doors. I have been looking for an old door, but the only ones I find are close to $1000. A lot of people in my area have tons of money and like to tell how much money they spent on something. I like to say how little I spend.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great time. Your hubbies deserve the praise, most guys would be bored to tears:) Such good shots, Kim!!
ReplyDeleteOMG - I can't move past those doors !!!
ReplyDeleteJust gorgeous -!
That looks soooo fun!!! I definitely need to go - perhaps next year? And Kim, you should have visited me. Would have love to host you all at our home!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like ton of fun. It looks like the weather was nice too after the day of rain.
ReplyDeleteThose doors are amazing.. They were worth the eleven hour drive, I guess! Thanks for sharing. I read a lot on blogs about that event, but of course, I'll never go, so I enjoy the pictures you took!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures.
ReplyDeleteI went to Lucketts last year with my mom and we had a good time. I wanted to go this year but she couldn't and my husband wouldn't. After hearing stories of the mud and parking issues I'm kind of glad I didn't venture out by myself.
I can't believe they wouldn't let you in the house. To be honest I really don't see what the big deal is about the design house. I enjoy the venders over the house.
Glad you had a good time.
Kim - Looks like you had a fun trip!! Lots of goodies.
ReplyDeleteJudy
That looks like so much fun! How nice of the husbands to be such good sports.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed reading about your trip!!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you missed our seasonal snow - Keep writing........ Connie
What a great trip, Kim. It's too bad that you couldn't get in early. Well, you will know for next time. There are some wonderful pieces here. What fun and I bet it was great hanging around with Shirley- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteThis is right up my alley! I would love to go to this. Sound like you had a great time, despite the mud. Looking forward to seeing what you came home with!
ReplyDeleteLooks like such a fun time! Shame on those folks not letting y'all in to tour the house. If I had been there I would have punched them in the stomach! ;)
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Pretty amazing how much great stuff they had there! Would love to go to Lucketts some day. Glad you had fun on your trip and that you found a few things to take home with you!
ReplyDeleteKim, does Luckett's have that market just once a year in the spring? How far did you say?? 7 hours??…lol
ReplyDeleteLoved seeing all the pictures Kim! Here I was a vendor and I didn't get to walk around once and see everything! It was a crazy weekend... I can't believe they didn't let you in the design house either...geez. Thanks so much for sharing a pic of my booth... I don't think I got very many pics of it myself. It was so good to see you and Shirley there:)
ReplyDeleteIt looks like sooooo much fun! I would need that truck to get everything home! I'm glad Mr. Savvy went too, men are good at holding things like cameras and packages ;).
ReplyDeleteWow Kim I would have had to bring a truck with me......lots of cool treasures it would have been hard to contain myself!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a great market! Thanks for sharing the pics and your experience with us. I see so many things for sale that I love.
ReplyDeleteI've never been to anything like this... looks like heaven! Looks like you had a good time. I'll go check out your loot :)
ReplyDeleteYou East Coast gals have a lot of fun shopping destinations! I spy many things that would have been so terribly tempting. Glad to know you had a great day, despite the weather conditions. Love that red colander!
