Today we are going to use our imaginations and pretend we are dining in the French countryside of Normandy. Simple table setting, some lighting for ambiance when it gets dark, an ironstone pitcher of freshly cut flowers from the bushes and trees close by, and whatever you would like to eat and of course wine.
Of course the truth is it was 95 degrees out with 1000% humidity when I set this up and took pictures. Oh, what I do for y'all. :) Of course I should have set this up and taken pictures two months ago before it got unbearable out. I'm sharing lots of photos, by golly, since I sweated doing all this and not a lot of words. K?
Enjoy dining for two in Normandy by the water....
I don't think I have ever shown y'all this little French chair I picked up at a flea market last February. It sits in the great room by the sideboard normally.
Now, it's time for some wine. Added a nice bottle of Savigon Blanc to my vintage silver wine chiller.
I hope you enjoyed dining in the French countryside of hot hot Georgia.

You did a great job of recreating Normandy, Kim! I love the demi-johns and that big lantern! I'm enjoying being in our little group!...hugs...Debbie

So pretty. Did you stand in the pond for that one shot?
ReplyDeleteNo, Lori, used my zoom from the other side. My husband asked the same thing.
DeleteWell, you've created a beautiful setting for outdoor French dining even if it is too hot to use it!
ReplyDeleteNow you know why no one has never seen a tablescape done under my pergola on the 6-top out there! It is a LOT of work! This looks so beautiful, maybe a magazine will use it.
ReplyDeleteLOL we never end up sitting at my outdoor tablescapes either! Very very pretty photos, Kim, I'm super envious of your lake. Pretty sure if we had one the mosquitos would be cat-sized by now :)
ReplyDeleteAndrea, it is just a spring fed pond. Lot of work actually, but thanks.
DeleteSuch a pretty table setting Kim! I remember that Georgia humidity when I was there last Summer! Hopefully it cools down a bit for you soon! Love the mixed chairs and colors you used.
ReplyDeleteThe humidity will be here for you next week at Haven, Courtney!
DeleteIf you did not say that this setting was in Georgia....we would have thought that we were at a beautiful bistro table by the water on a gorgeous Normandy estate...magnifique Kim!!!
ReplyDeleteMerci!
DeleteBEAUTIFUL Kim!!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures Kim, I love to dine beside water, be it the ocean or a river or lake

ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous setting for an al fresco meal. Your table setting is simply gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteJust lovely, thank you for dragging all that stuff out there in that nasty weather......we all appreciate it!!! Love how you put the lantern on the stool, the tablecloth is perfect and so are the chairs. We are also having high heat and humidity, hate that part of summer!!!
ReplyDeletePerfect!! I luv the relaxed style of the mixed chairs Kim. I can see myself munching on some bread and cheese sipping wine by the water... tres magnifique!
ReplyDeleteQu'est-ce une très belle table!
ReplyDeleteIt looks just like the French Country side Kim! I love the table cloth...
ReplyDeleteOh Kim it is so lovely. I could see feeling like being in France for sure. Everything is just gorgeous.

It looks very French: my grand-mother has the exact same chairs in her dining-room than the one you brought back!
ReplyDeleteAhhh Kim, I wish I was there right now sippin on some chilled vino:) Looks gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty, and the lantern is TO DIE FOR! Love it.
ReplyDeleteI so appreciate all your hard work Kim! The heat here in Florida is unbearable right now! Love all your colors and the setting makes it magical looking! Bon Appetit!!
ReplyDeleteIt's hot and humid here today too, so no alfresco dining. You are a trooper to set up this delightful setting by the pond. It looks like a beautiful spot for an alfresco meal. Every detail is lovely!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful setting, Kim! I would love to sit and have a glass of Sav Blanc there! It's my favorite too! But maybe in the evening when it cools down a bit. Thanks for sweating for our visual enjoyment!
ReplyDeleteVery lovely Kim, and I didn't see you sweat at all! I love your pitcher with huge hydrangea blooms and the oversized bottle and demijohn~ it does look like France!
ReplyDeleteJenna
Looks fabulous, Kim and looks a lot cooler than 95!
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful, Kim! Such a cozy setting for two. It has been so hot here. As much as I am enjoying our carefree summer days, I can hardly wait for cooler temps. See you in a couple of weeks at Haven!!
ReplyDeleteIt is SOO beautiful Kim. And it's hot here too, but I can pretend it's not looking at your lovely photos. Wish I were there in person.
ReplyDeleteThat first pic looks like it belongs in a magazine! So pretty! You did a great job styling that table.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Kim! LOVE all the french accents! Magazine worthy... French magazine that is!
ReplyDeleteKim everything looks so pretty. Your pond looks so beautiful in your photos. It's really hot, and humid here too.
ReplyDeleteKathy
Very pretty Kim! I'm learning a lot about french decorating from your blog. The humidity here is 1000% too! I'm in eastern N.C. and it's HOT!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this. When I saw the picture (1st one) I knew it was your pond, but, I started daydreaming about France. So sorry you have that awful humidity......it is also very humid in Orange county (Calif.) Again thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThis setting is so pretty! I do not miss living in the Midwest where there was like 1000% humidity as well. Makes me appreciate the hard work out into these pictures more!
