This is the best full shot I could get from standing outside the bathroom and then it was hard to get the lighting right since I have to have the lights on in the room or it would be totally dark since there is no window.
Stood in the tub to get this shot. I love the new mirror and light.
This is the best shot I have of the new light fixture without the light on.
This artwork was in the storage/hoarding room and decided to use it since this bathroom goes with the French country style guest room and this picture reminds me of all the beautiful boats we saw docked in Honfleur.
Bronze faucet replace the brass one.
Hand soap with the perfect name and a little vintage linen towel.
Instead of purchasing a new bronze toilet handle and toilet paper holder Mr. Savvy painted them for me with bronze spray paint. Easy update.
This was a very shiny brass and he sands the finish so the spray paint will stick.
I found this rack at HomeGoods last week and decided to use it instead of a faux bamboo towel rack I had ordered from France. The rack was too small for this wall so I was thrilled to find this.
Ironstone pitcher filled with dried lavender and a stack of towels on top. Then I hung a French torchon and a tote bag made from a vintage grain sack and an old leather belt. I found the bag on ebay.
More towels stacked on this stool that has moved from the master bath to this bathroom.
Indoor outdoor rug from HomeGoods is perfect for the bathroom.
Wooden bowl we purchased in Hawaii years ago hold sea glass and shell potpouri.
I took a picture of this wastebasket so you could see it better. I have had this for many years and found it at Steinmart marked way down. I love the blue and white print on it and the crackle design. It was regularly $78 which I would never pay for a wastebasket and it was marked down to $22.
I stole these knobs from the armoire in the other guest room and then replaced those.
I will share more about the blue plaque which is a piece I just painted, but I'm thinking it may need a little tweaking.
I think that about covers it all.
Now on to the next guest bath soon.

ReplyDeleteLooks great! I am totally stealing the paint-the-handle-idea...man why didn't we think of that sooner?? Your rack from Homegoods is perfect, and I love the idea of the bags holding the paper. We bought the exact same mirror for the tiny bathroom in our new room over the garage (except it needs to be moved up one inch. :( ) Love your shower curtain and the wastepaper basket!
ReplyDeleteLove all you did for your bathroom makeover, Kim! The rack is perfect!! The bag holding toilet paper...brilliant!
ReplyDeleteMary Alice
It looks fantastic! I wish we could comment beneath the photos.. ha! I keep looking back to see all the details. I love the mirror! I've been looking at those lately. Love how you did everything Kim! I can imagine you running around from room to room looking for this and that... it all came together perfectly.
ReplyDeleteGreat summer look for your guest bath. Love how you used the burlap tote for bath tissue.

The curtain is fabulous, and I love the idea of painting the hardware! Fixtures are so expensive this saved you a ton and kept a few things out of the landfills.
ReplyDeleteAs much as I love everything, would you believe my favorite is the bag holding the T/P?!! So cute!
(We have the same mirrors in our master bath)
Looks fabulous. I love the new fixtures too and your accessories are perfect. That shelf from Home Goods is a real find.
ReplyDeleteThat turned out great! I like the softness of the shower curtain better than shower doors too. I'm sure your guests will appreciate the updates.
ReplyDeleteooh la la, I love it!!!!! Hugs, Katherine

ReplyDeleteWhat a great job Kim!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fresh and updated bathroom! Thanks for getting it ready for me!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt looks just lovely ! And I am over here checking out your fruit smoothie recipe...I think I have everything here ( just peaches versus berries ) and am going to make one for lunch :)
ReplyDeleteI am always amazed at how similar our homes are...surreal! Thanks, Cheryl Ann
ReplyDeleteVery cute, Kim! Love the blue. We had those bronzed fixtures in TX. I would just love to see that hoarding room. Ever going to show us? Or have you already?
ReplyDeleteBrenda
Unbelievable as it might seem, I think your bathroom is bigger than mine. I think mine is longer, but I couldn't fit a stool in there like you did. It's too narrow. Anyway, I love your idea of painting the brass fixtures bronze. I think I may steal that idea since I will be redoing my bathroom soon and was thinking of replacing the sink faucet and tank handle. Might not have to! Thanks and love the new bath!
ReplyDeleteLooks great Kim! I think my favorite part is the vintage grain sack tote bag for holding the toilet paper - so clever!
ReplyDeleteKim love the changes to this bathroom, especially that faucet. Great hair cut and color by the way, I saw it on FB.
ReplyDeleteCynthia
Great updates, Kim. I especially like the pretty shower curtain and rug. I'm still searching for a stool with a bit of character for our front hall half bath and I think yours is adorable and perfectly rustic.
ReplyDeleteKim your guest bathroom turned out beautifull - there are so many things I like! Love the rack, the grainsack bag, the new mirror, the artwork, the blue and white trash can - everything is perfect - I know it makes you smile! Have a blessed week,
ReplyDeleteKathy
It's so sweet. Great job!
ReplyDeleteAlison
What a great transformation - love all of the attention to detail…great rug and shower curtain and the stool with the towels…perfect!
ReplyDeleteNo surprise that it looks great - everything you touch turns to perfect!
ReplyDeleteI love that wire shelf and the bag holding TP. I think I might steal that idea. I have a great canvas bag I purchased at JCrew years ago and it will look great in the bathroom holding the extra TP.
Thanks for the inspiration.
I love your darling bathroom! The bag is an unique idea for holding bathroom tissue. Thanx for sharing.

C'est si bon! I have taken out glass shower doors before, I really don't like them. The bath looks really nice. I like your mirror/light and accessories. Good thinking to Mr. Savy painting the hardware. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI love the blue accents in the shower curtain and rug! And that wood stool is to die for!
ReplyDeleteHard word paid off ... love the new look, Kim, especially the coastal accents!!
ReplyDeleteIs there anything left to makeover in your house? What a great transformation....there are so many things I love starting with the rack you found at HG's!
ReplyDeleteKim,
ReplyDeleteAs always, you and Mr. Savvy have done a beautiful job! Your taste is perfection all the way. Thank you for your beautiful pictures and your awesome blog.
Cyndee
Awesome! Great updates to your bathroom but I love that you painted the flusher and the tp holder instead of buying new! Of course you know that I love all of your cute accessories! Great job, Kim
ReplyDeleteKim I know how hard it is to shoot in a windowless bathroom and you did a great job. I love all the little touches in your re-model, as usual your style is impeccable!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty and fresh, Kim!
ReplyDeleteGreat updates, Kim! What a difference it made to replace the mirror...I would not have thought it would have made that much of an impact. Thanks for the tip about painting some bathroom metal items instead of buying new ones.
ReplyDeleteTurned out great Kim and I love the extra tp holder!:)
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty bathroom, I love the finishing touches, especially the luggage style wire rack for the towels. I plan to update my bathrooms in the near future and would love one of those racks if I can find one in NZ.
ReplyDeleteLee
Very pretty, Kim! I love the new look.

Sherry
Beautiful transformation Kim! My guest bath is really small too and also hard to photograph you did a great job!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful makeover, Kim! I love the new updates. You and the Mr. did a marvelous job.
ReplyDeleteI love it!
ReplyDeleteWe've leased an apartment for 6 months...another step in house prep. Anyway...small, very small for two people and a Labrador Retriever. However, I plan to do "cute", anyway. Even if we are hoping to be there no longer than 6 months before the house sells. This bathroom reveal gave me some ideas to cozy up and make a home out of temporary lodging;
Everything looks so great Kim! The rack from HomeGoods is fabulous!! :)
ReplyDeleteNancy
Loved that tour. Beautiful project there, woman!
ReplyDeleteIt's adorable! Love it!! And love all of the details you put into it. I'm wanting one of those homegoods racks for my bathroom now :) Great idea to put the toilet paper in the bag too!!
