This used to be a big, open deck that ran across the back of our house, but with our wooded yard, it was hard to spend much time out there without getting eaten alive, especially in the evenings.
So we decided to build a screened porch. But that project grew, as projects tend to do. We started asking, "How much to add windows? Okay, how about an A/C unit? Heat? Insulation?" Before we knew it, we were building a sunroom instead.
The extra investment was worth it because we can use the room on all but the coldest days of winter and the hottest days of summer, and it functions as a kind of family room for us now year-round.
Hard to believe it's almost time to start redecorating the sunroom for fall...
But I'm not ready to think about that just yet!
You can find more photos and details about the sunroom (and the rest of my house) over at Hooked on Houses under the tab labeled "My House." Thanks to Kim for inviting me to share my favorite room on her lovely blog! :)
Thank you, Julia for sharing your favorite room here. I know how you feel about your sun room because I feel the same way about mine.
