When I was hunting at the Liberty Antiques Festival a couple weeks ago I came across another piece of artwork.
I stood there and looked at it and pondered about whether I really wanted it or not....for about half a second.
I've always had a fondness for these handmade pieces though and the time it took someone to create it.
I can't sit long enough to work on a piece of art like this, but sure am glad that someone else did so I can enjoy it now.
This is such a good size and the farm scene with the bible verse is perfect for this room.
I love the sampler Kim! So much work goes into it. That's the perfect spot for it too.

ReplyDeleteI love it Kim...it looks perfect in that room!
ReplyDeleteI think it fits perfectly in that room. Have a beautiful Sunday. Catherine
ReplyDeleteThat sampler looks like it was meant for that room! I love that phrase too.
ReplyDeleteLove it, I couldn't create that either. I have tried to cross stitch and it is a mess. LOL
ReplyDeleteI used to do cross stitch....that is a lovely piece....great find...

i love it! last sunday i bypassed an embroidered scene of two deer that was in a booth at my favorite antique arcade and I have been thinking of it all week and regret I didn't grab it. It would be a 50 mile one-way trip to go back to see if it's still there...though on second thought, I could call and ask them to hold it for me... hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm?
ReplyDeleteKim,
ReplyDeleteWonderful find and boy that was made for this room. It looks perfect with your red armoire and check drapes. It was meant to be.

It's beautiful! As someone who in the past did a lot of handwork, it IS a lot of tedious work. I love the apple painting too.

It is a beautiful cross-stitch...looks great in the room...perfect find for the farmhouse room!...I used to cross stitch all the time...but now I do not seem to have time for that anymore...or the "eyes"...would need a huge magnifying glass!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI have a cross stitch of my parents wedding!!!! I haven't gotten it hung in this house yet but you have inspired me. I just wish I had ANY idea of who did it. Yours is beautiful and perfect in your room. Great find, Kim!
ReplyDeleteI does go so well in that room, I've did those samplers back in the 80's and 90's and they are a lot of work, the price you paid for it is a great one!
