It looks like old man winter is making an early appearance throughout most of the country. Even here in the south we are quite cold. I have one room in my home that just feels cozier than the rest.....the sitting room.
This room is a little smaller and not open like the other rooms. It is filled with some of my favorite things like the vaisselier, equestrian decor, demijohns, dog prints, ironstone and transferware.
When I saw this pheasant pillow at Pottery Barn a couple months ago I knew I had to use it somewhere and it works perfectly in here.
Did you notice that this is where I moved the chair to that was in the master before all the changes in there? I don't know why I didn't think of using it in here sooner. Look how perfectly it goes with the rug. The chair that is now in the new master takes up less room since the bed grew.
I found this ironstone bowl a couple weeks ago at the antique mall and loved the shape and the price.
I was gifted these vintage blue ribbons from Shirley.
Old gingham pillows from Ballard's, new velvet ones from Pottery Barn, and my fave aubusson pillow.

And Miss Bailey agrees that this room is cozy on a cold windy day.
I love your cozy room. It is definitely the perfect place to be on a cold, windy, grey and sometimes snowing day! Even though my Great Room is open to the other parts of the house...it is cozy - mostly due to the colors and fabrics I've chosen for that room. If I want smaller and cozy, our Den works nicely too.

I love your sitting room, one of my favorites in your house and the chair is perfect there.
ReplyDeleteThis room is lovely, Kim. I could definitely cozy up in there!!
ReplyDeleteI love this room too, it is so warm and inviting. It was 24 degrees when we were coming home from our dinner group last night. UGH!!! WAY too cold!!!!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty and cozy room Kim. Bailey looks so sweet!
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect sitting room!!! So cozy!
ReplyDeletebeautiful, love the thought of "cozy" on a cold blustery day!
ReplyDeleteCan we see a full shot of your gorgeous room. I love it!
ReplyDeleteClick on the highlighted sitting room link at the top of the post. thanks
DeleteThanks Kim. I just keep going back looking at the photos. Love it!
DeleteVery cozy and pretty Kim. That chair does go great with the rug. Love little Bailey taking a nice cozy nap. Too adorable. Happy Sunday.

Great cozy room Kim-it is still warm in CA but getting a little colder at night.
ReplyDeleteThis room is one of my favorites in your home Kim! Love the way the chair looks in there...great switch!
ReplyDeletei am with you about the need for a cozy room. I call mine the mama cave in our house...it is a smaller room and closed off to the others like yours. Our great room is cozy...but it is a large room. Smaller just seems cozier! Miss Bailey is so cute. I have a golden retriever Mikey who snuggles with me in my "cozy" room.

That chair is really perfect in there with the rug and all. I think everyone needs a spot to feel "cozy" during the cold months! I have a fire going here this morning and it warms the whole area. Have a wonderful Sunday. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteI coming to take a nap on your sofa. Is that okay?????
ReplyDeleteIndeed it looks very cozy soft and warm, love miss Bailey she is too cute. Lovely Sunday Janice
ReplyDeleteThis room looks like one that would be a favorite of your hubby.
ReplyDeleteThis definitely is the room to be in today! Your comfy sofa looks mighty appealing on this cold cloudy day that looks and feels like snow.

The chair looks perfect in this room. It seems Miss Bailey has excellent taste.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful, beautiful room! The chair from your master is just perfect with the rug. Funny that I'd never noticed the blue in the rug before. And that photo of Bailey is absolutely adorable!
ReplyDeleteThat is a cozy room. All of the warm colors and seating are so inviting.
ReplyDeleteIt all looks terrific Kim, I ordered the pheasant pillow too :)
ReplyDeleteLooks oh so cozy, Kim. I have one room that has to be our living room and den and study all at once. But I find if I just rearrange the furniture it really impacts the room. So now that it's cold that sofa gets to be moved : )
ReplyDeleteBailey has the right idea about how to spend a cold and dreary day! Love your beautiful, cozy sitting room as much as she does!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous and cozy, Kim!
ReplyDeleteLovely, a perfect room to sit and sip hot cocoa! Lisa @ Sweet Tea N' Salty Air
ReplyDeleteLove the way you decorated, reminds me of a ENGLISH sitting room with dog, & horse decor & I love that. I have what was a formal living room that became a office/sitting room in a reconfiguration of walls, that I was just thinking this weekend needs a makeover...aka move furniture, & shop the house. I have a "thing" for horses & dogs, & other nature themes, & your pics gave me vision & ideas... As for Bailey, my Bella (yorkie-bichon) does the same thing. She perches on the backs of sofas & chairs, even if they're not up against a wall. I'm always worried one day she'll fall off on the wrong side.
ReplyDeleteYour room is so cozy and inviting! Such a sweet photo of Bailey <3
ReplyDeleteMy sort of style for sure! It is indeed a warm, inviting space. Miss Bailey is precious too! Please tell me what is the name of the painting in your first picture? I have been trying to find one like this for years. My grandmother had one in her home and I alway admired it. Thanks, Kim!
ReplyDeleteI don't know the name of it I found it in an antique store.
DeleteHello Kim, I shall continue my search! Thank you.
