Y'all know I love worn painted pieces and I love to collect so when I was sent this super cute cabinet from Decor Steals it was a win win and I couldn't wait to decorate it. First I had to figure out where I was going to use it. I had thought about using it in the guest room, but once I saw the size of it I knew I needed a different location.
The best spot for it seemed to be the sun room. This cabinet has hangers on the back to hang on a wall, but my home doesn't have many walls with all the windows and openings.
I placed the cabinet on the drop leaf table in place of the olive bucket that held a fiddle leaf fig tree.
I started shopping the house and filled it with little things I collect. I think a cabinet like this is good for showcasing those treasures.
I placed a sea fan in the back for texture and then added old books and bottles on the bottom shelf.
This vintage monogrammed silver creamer is a favorite and I filled it with feathers I purchased on my trip to Tybee last weekend. I didn't know I would be using them in this cabinet while I was buying them, but they fit so perfectly.
The top shelf also displays a sea fan.
Old books and coral.
I bought these balls (forgot what they were called) at The Paris Market in Savannah for a dollar each and placed them in this old ironstone food mold. They make a great filler.
Here I have already swapped out the food mold for another ironstone bowl. I'm loving this cabinet in place of the olive bucket and tree.
The cabinet is today's DAILY STEAL and I bet they sell quickly!
It can be used in many different ways. If I had the space I would hang it in a bathroom to hold toiletries and decorative items.
Tell me how you would you use it?
Be sure to check out my friend Yvonne of Stone Gable's idea for this cabinet, too for another great way to style it.

ReplyDeleteRosezeeta.
It is so fun to decorate. Thanks!
DeleteSo pleased that you and Yvonne were selected to receive this gorgeous cabinet from Decor Steals. Your cabinet looks perfectly styled in the sunroom, my favorite room.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sandy. It was fun to fill.
DeleteGreat styling, Kim! This pretty cabinet looks even better in your gorgeous home filled with all the wonderful things you have found on your many shopping excursions around the globe! LOVE it... and working with you!
ReplyDeleteI love the way you styled yours, too!
DeleteLOVE it Kim and the pretty display!! Think I might need one too!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Martina!
DeleteWow, that is gorgeous! Is it weird that I drooled over the hardware on the cabinet? I can't wait to go to The Paris Market in Savannah soon!
ReplyDeleteIt is a pretty handle so I don't blame you at all for a little drool.
DeleteYou've inspired me again, my friend! I just ordered one for the master bath...or maybe the kitchen....or the dining room! xoxo
ReplyDeleteKimberly, you will love it and will probably want to try it in all those rooms.
DeleteEvery time I see something I think wow that is really cute, it turns out to be from Decor Steals. I've never signed up to get their emails, so today is the day.
ReplyDeleteWell, girl it's about time!
DeleteHi Kimmie! Oh, that little cabinet is you for sure and I really like how you've dressed her! Everything you do turns out beautifully. Hope you're doing well.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Kim, could you please tell us how to decorate around a huge, flat screen TV? I have mine sitting on a console with an iron piece hanging above it and two magnolia wreaths flanking each side. It seems kind of boring, but I don't want to overdecorate to compensate for the big black rectangle that just sits there while we're not watching it. Help please! Thanks, Sharon White (qstylethebook.com)
ReplyDeleteSarahjowhite, I was trying to find you a link to a gallery wall around a tv on a console. A friend of mine had done a gallery wall of florals around hers and it looked so good. She hung a couple rows of probably 8 x 10 framed prints across the top of the tv and them a double row down each side. Wish I had the photo to show you. I don't have a huge tv to decorate around so not sure of other ideas.
DeleteGorgeous display cabinet and I love how you decorated it! I love your bottle collection and I pinned it to my bottles board.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Gigi!
DeleteLove the cabinet and how you made it fit into your space. The treasures inside are lovely!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Darielle. It was fun to fill.
DeleteThat cabinet is gorgeous, Kim! You did it justice with the things you placed inside because it all looks beautiful together. The photos are wonderful and I love the shot of the cabinet with those snappy red checkered curtains in the background! The fruit in the ironstone bowl look a lot like what we called persimmons when I was growing up near Savannah, GA. They grew on small trees(bushes) and we picked and ate them after they turned a reddish-brown color. To eat them when green was a BIG mistake(LOL)! I really enjoyed your lovely post!
ReplyDeleteLynn, these had a French name on the display like pincot balls or something like that. They came in green, red and yellow. They are hard and crack when you drop one like I did.
ReplyDeleteI love, LOVE ths cabinet, the size, the style, everything. You have styledit beautifully with your treasures. You ahve the best collections!! I was already over there and have my fingers crossed for a WIN:):)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Pinky. The cabinet will be back in April.
DeleteLOVE the way you styled this adorable cabinet, Kim -- looks fantastic! It is perfect in your sunroom. Now I'm off to check out Yvonne's post! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Julie!
DeleteLOVE this cabinet, I have to have this for sure!!!
ReplyDeleteCindy

DeleteOh Kim I could kick myself. I recently sold a cabinet similar to yours from Decor Steals. Now I need to open my daily email from them to see if I can replace the one I sold. The way you filled your cabinet is lovely. sb
ReplyDeleteOh, no. If you didn't get one today they will be back in April.

ReplyDelete~Des
Thanks, Des, I am sure you could come up with a spot for it.
DeleteCoral is one of my favorite decorating accessories. Last year in an Atlanta garage sale, I found a huge piece of coral for $8. SCORE!!!
ReplyDeleteLove your cabinet.
Oh, you got a great deal. I paid that for the little piece on the books at Scott's a couple years ago.
DeleteI love this piece. I love how you show cased it.
ReplyDeleteThanks!

DeleteI don't think my comment posted (I hope that this is not a double posting)....I'd love to put my little knick knacks in it and display it on my buffet table. It would be just perfect! Thanks so much!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty cabinet. I went to their site but it had already sold out. Do you know if they will be getting more of these cabinets? Thanks. Kathy
ReplyDeleteI just found out they sold out very quickly. Sorry about that. They have ordered more and will be available some time in April.

ReplyDeleteThanks, Cristina. I have seen those feathers sold for $3 each and I got them for $1 each.

Thanks so much, Kim!
DeleteWhat a great looking "old" piece, Kim. I have seen their stuff and wondered what the quality of it was like. i would probably use this cabinet in a bathroom. It is really great...and...like you...I don't have a lot of walls. We have LOTS of windows. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteThis cabinet is probably pressed board, but it is made well and a really good size.

This post is three years old and I think those were probably from Pottery Barn.
