I love the look and the wonderful patina of very old breadboards. I have collected quite a few over the last couple years in all sizes. I thought I would share different ways I have used them in my home.
I have two old boards leaning against each other on the wall on this sideboard in the great room. They add just the right height in this vignette and work well in place of art.
I like using one on the breakfast room table as a centerpiece.
They can be hung on the wall. This one hangs in my kitchen.
I layered it with this old copper mold. This is one of my favorite boards that I purchased from an Hungarian vendor at the Country Living Fair two years ago.
This stack of smaller boards leans against the backsplash in the kitchen. The rooster board is not old, but I have had it for years.
This one is one of my newest finds and it hangs on a wall in the sun room.
It's just the right size for this small space.
This is a display from a couple years ago.
Another old breakfast table vignette.
Loved this look last fall.
As you can see there are all kinds of ways to use these old breadboards and they are certainly a part of French country decor.
The breadboards add such warmth to a home. Yours are so pretty the way you have them displayed. Happy Anniversary!

ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary! What a milestone you have accomplished. I love the patina of all your breadboards and how you have incorporated them in your decor. Just love!

ReplyDeleteLove the Country French series. :)
ReplyDeleteYour breadboards are beautiful. I would love to collect two or three myself.
Hi Kim,
ReplyDeleteI have been a reader for a long while and love your style. I'd like to add some French Country to my home as well, but wonder how to start when I have never been to France and don't have any authentic French pieces! Any advice?
Thank you!
Dee
Dionne, if you have been following this monthly series you should be getting how to add French Country without any real French pieces. That is why we are sharing these ideas in this series. I have been decorating French country style for years before I ever went to France two years ago. I get my ideas from books like Charles Faudree's and Betty Lou Phillips. Also check out pinterest.
DeleteLove all your breadboards! How fabulous - happy anniversary!
ReplyDeleteI don't have any of these vintage breadboards, they are not something I see often in Ireland actually. They look lovely, they add a real warmth to your decorating. Wishing you a very happy anniversary x

Happy anniversary you two...we will celebrate our 49th in November! Love your use of breadboards! I only have one wooden one, but the wood is beautiful and I should be using it in my decorating instead of just letting hang on the end of my island. Thanks for the ideas.
ReplyDeleteI love your wonderful vintage bread boards, Kim! You really have such a nice collection! Hope you had a great trip and happy anniversary!...hugs...Debbie

ReplyDeleteI love these vintage bread boards. Also Happy 40th Anniversary to you and your husband. Just a couple of weeks ago my husband and I celebrated our 34th.
ReplyDeleteI love the warm texture that bread boards add to your home. my favorite is the huge round one on the wall! Happy 40th anniversary!
ReplyDeleteLove how you incorporate all those different sized boards into your decor.
ReplyDeleteLove your blog. Question for you - where did you get your boxwood wreath? I've found a few on Amazon, but very pricey for decent sized ones and the one I ended up getting from Target for $45 seems over priced for it - the boxwood is only on the front part and the rest is grapevine, which come on, for that price is really not worthy...
ReplyDeleteThank you
Laura, I ordered it from Decor Steals when it was available, I believe. It has been a while. I probably paid around 45 but it is large and fully covered. Thanks
DeleteKim, fun to see your different bread boards and how you display them around your home. I like the patina of these old pieces. What is it about old wooden utilitarian pieces? I'm drawn to them!
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary. We are right behind you and Mr. Savvy.
