It has been warm and down right humid here this week and that has certainly put me in the mood to add some spring touches around the house. Even though we have been knee deep in the guest bathroom renovation I still managed to change some things up. The first thing I did was change the decor on the dining room table by grabbing this and grabbing that.
The large urn of dried hydrangeas that was here has been moved back to the fireplace in place of the logs.
I love this old blue and white transferware sugar bowl. It has been tucked away so it's fun bringing it out to be enjoyed.
Another blue and white addition is this vintage cow creamer.
The creamer sits on a stack of vintage books with some more blue on the binding.
I have had this little figurine for years. The little dog is just like Bailey begging at me.
A cloche covers a stack of found nests sitting on a stack of blue and white transferware plates.
My French confit pot holds some greenery. I will add flowers when I make it to the store.
Five items make this vignette work. Remember the key to the right look is in odd numbers.
Have you started decorating for spring?
Official first day is 3/20!
Today the most exciting part of the bathroom remodel will be taking place! I will not shed a tear when the brown tub becomes shiny and white.
I'm waiting on a few things to be delivered like the shower curtain, liner and rings and I need to go buy a shower curtain rod. Mr. Savvy has to finish the trim and install the mirror and I will finish the touch up painting. Yay, we're almost done.
I don't really do alot of seasonal decorating, but I will change out pillows, put away the heavier throws, etc. Haven't done anything yet because we are painting and it seems like nothing is where it should be! The good thing is as my hubby paints, I am cleaning light fixtures, fans, cabinets, etc. so I guess spring cleaning is taking place too. I do have a cute bunny rabbit wreath on the front door and an Easter flag out!
ReplyDeleteLove the blue transferware! I have started added some Spring touches in hopes that it would brighten my mood!!! Can't wait to see the guest bath after all your hard work!! Enjoy this beautiful weather!
ReplyDeleteI have been even more into blue and white lately....Note to self: Bring a big purse when I visit the next time..love that sugar bowl....I know you will have tears of joy when the tub is done and is a sparkling white!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful Kim! The blue transferware is gorgeous. Haven't decorated for Spring yet because I'm right in the middle of prepping all of our tax information this week. I have the itch to get outside with this gorgeous weather, though.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad to finally be decorating for SPRING! Such a pretty vignette Kim!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Cindy

Can't wait to see the bath update. I have really started my spring decorating still some to do. This house gives me the freedom to change things for the season and I'm having a blast!

Very pretty Kim! The last few days we hit 60 here...I'm itching to get outside but we need the snow to melt first!
ReplyDeleteHi Kimmie! oh, I just love all your pretty decorating and the blue and white pieces are lovely. Do you really need that blue and white cow creamer? Hint hint! ;)
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
I admire you for being able to decorate so beautifully for spring while handling a major bathroom renovation. Your dining room vignette is charming, and I'm in love with your pretty figurine and cow creamer. They work so well together!
ReplyDeleteI love it all! Nice presentation, Kim. And, watch out for Shirley and her big purse!!
ReplyDeleteI'm new to your blog! And I just am happy I found it....
ReplyDeleteI have started to do a little spring/easter decorating not to much as I have to dig around my attic!

Your dining room looks so pretty and fresh for spring! Glad it's warming up where you're at. Little by little, we're adding spring touches. Today, our youngest and I will break out the Easter boxes of decorations. :)
ReplyDeleteStill in winter mode here but the changes you made are charming. Love the figurine with the dog!
ReplyDeleteLovely vignette you created, Kim! Your blue and white accents are so pretty. Gorgeous hutch in the background too.

I change my tabletop often but the pillows are another matter. Hopefully I muster up the energy to do that this weekend. Humidity sounds great right about now!
ReplyDeleteWe are still stuck in the low 40's so far, but the sun has been shining bright:D I saw that hutch today while flipping through the pages of a special magazine issue;) Excited to see the bathroom!
ReplyDeleteIt is looking great there, Kim. Really Springy! Not doing anything here yet but will this next week. We still have snow and the frozen bay. I do love the blue and white. Can't wait to see the brown tub turn white! Kinda like bleaching hair-only longer lasting! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteLove the crate you're using to corral your spring vignette.
ReplyDeleteMary Alice
Everything looks pretty, Kim! I especially like your Nelson's Berry crate!
ReplyDeleteKim, I always get inspired when I see your dining room. I love the look of the open doors on the cabinet and your long table. You always have a charming vignette in the center of your table. I will add this one to my Pinterest boards.
ReplyDeleteIt is looking and feeling like spring here the last two days, so I've pulled out some Easter things. It perked me up just to have something fresh and spring like out . I bought the most gorgeous purple parrot tulips to fill a large ironstone pitcher. I'm a happy girl! '-)
The vignette is adorable and the sugar bowl is gorgeous! Good luck with the bathroom!
ReplyDeleteI adore the woman & dog figurine! It is precious! The entire vignette looks great. I put out some of my Spring touches back in February after buying an antique French wire egg basket at the flea market. I guess, in a way, it is eternally Spring in Santa Barbara, California.

I never think to move things around the house to create a new look - what an inspired idea! Like shopping only at home! And I love how you've showcased the nests under glass. We often find the most precious nuthatch nests and now I know just what to do with them! Thanks!!
