If you follow me on instagram then you saw peeks of the huge mess I've been living with for the past couple weeks. This guest bath project has not been an easy one. We have gotten a lot done even with the challenges we have faced or I should say Mr. Savvy has faced.
We actually cleaned out several things we weren't using anymore, but still have all this.
Mr. Savvy worked hard all weekend.
Walls prepped for paint which I will be doing today.
A new light replaced the old one that never worked correctly. The other one would go off after a few minutes and then come back on over and over. I know my guests will be happy to have a new light.
This light was another thing that didn't go in easily. Hubby had to get in the attic over this tub to get the old can out and then the hole on the tub had to be cut larger for the new light. Then it did not want to go in easy. Nothing has been easy. Later this week I will be more than ready to say bye bye to this brown color.
Yesterday was better than Christmas when the faucet was delivered after a snow delay with UPS.
And the light fixture showed up a day early!
So this project drags on, but we're getting there!
I hope to see y'all tonight for Wow Us Wednesdays to share your projects or anything else.
Looking great!...and I will miss "the ghost" .....
ReplyDeleteYes, the ghost is outta here!
DeleteQuestion....why is Mr. Savvy painting over wall paper??? Just asking..
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the finish!
I said in a previous post that I will share how to paint over wallpaper....coming soon.
DeleteOh, I know it's going to be gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Thanks, Shelia.
DeleteI want to know about the wallpaper too. My hallway is papered and I hate the thought of standing on a scaffold to remove the paper. Help!!!!
ReplyDeletePost coming soon.
DeleteLooking super so far. Can't wait to see more.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Marty.
DeleteYou are really making big changes here! And I also wondered if he was painting over wallpaper?
ReplyDeleteWell he was actually priming in the pic. I'm painting today.
DeleteOh I'm so excited for you, but I did start to shed just a little tear when I saw the paint on that wallpaper. lol! I just love that:) I can't wait to this this reveal! I'm really liking that new faucet:)
ReplyDeleteCindy, I loved that wallpaper too for 19 years and it is time to lighten up.
DeleteJust priming over that dark wallpaper made a huge difference. I'm inspired to go finish a project just looking at yours.
ReplyDeleteSo glad I have inspired you.
DeleteWe are in the middle of a project too but I am saving it for a surprise:) The bathroom is going to look so nice. You 2 are a great team.
ReplyDeleteOh, can't wait, Pinky.
DeleteLooking good Kim! Hopefully all the obstacles will make the finish line even sweeter. I know it will be beautiful. Jane
ReplyDeleteI sure hope so, Jane.
DeleteOooh, love those faucet handles!
ReplyDeleteSheila
Thanks, I'm in love with them.
DeleteLove the new faucet!! I had a thought about shower curtain......how about a red ticking stripe or black?? Ticking is very French or farmhouse style. Country Curtains carries them and they have long sizes too. They would coordinate nicely with the Buffalo checks in the bedroom. Just saying......
ReplyDeleteI have everything picked out and you might be surprised. Great ideas.

DeleteI found the post about your Wesley Allen iron bed, but not this one. Would you share? Wish I had known how to paint over wallpaper before I tried to remove it -- a hard (and not excellent) job!
ReplyDeleteI don't have a Wesley Allen iron bed. Thanks
DeleteWhen I read the following, I wasn't thinking you already got rid of it. I just wondered who made the one next to your bathroom project - not to literally share.

Our Wesley Allen Iron bed has been with us for about 16 years now. I keep thinking that I want a change and either get a padded headboard or a beautiful wood French style headboard,
Okay the other post you referred to was a room of another blogger who had the Wesley allen bed. My bed in the guest room is not a Wesley Allen. It is a cheap metal bed found on Overstock.com.
DeleteLooking good Kim. That faucet is going to look awesome!!!!!

Hi Kim,
ReplyDeleteIt will be well worth the mess in the end, and I too have painted over wall paper using a deglosser and prime and ready to paint.
Can't wait to see and hear how you tackled your wall paper to paint finish, most of all I can't wait for the reveal.

Don't you hate the surprises that make a project drag on? In the end we seem to forget those snags...Mr. Savvy is the best!!
ReplyDeleteMary Alice
Isn't it great to have a handy hubby? I hope all of the snags are behind you now, I can't wait to see it all come together!
ReplyDeleteI always feels like my house exploded every time we tackle a big project but it's always so worth it in the end! Can't wait to see the makeover Kim!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet husband! You both are working so hard, can't wait to see it finished...and I know you feel the same way!
ReplyDeleteI love working with my husband. It's great that you two tackle your projects together! I can't wait to see it all put back together.
ReplyDeleteOh, gosh, I feel your pain when I look at the stuff in your guest bedroom. Your bathroom does sound like a challenging update, but you're tackling so much. I'm enjoying reading all the nitty gritty details of your adventure.
ReplyDeleteI am positive your bathroom is going to look awesome Kim!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the finished product!
ReplyDeleteLooking good Kim! I'm living in a mess too with the kitchen reno and it isn't easy. Can't wait to see how it all turns out.
ReplyDeleteHang in there. You (& Mr. Savvy) are in the home stretch. Love the faucet handles!!! Where are they from???
ReplyDeleteBest,
Michelle from simplysantabarbara.blogspot.com
