A couple days ago I showed you where I recently went junking and today I am sharing one of my favorite purchases.
Only one of you guessed that I would have bought this lidded basket. As soon as I spotted it I knew I wanted it. I stacked it on top of my other large French lidded basket that I bought in Franklin, Tn.
This basket is half the size of the one it sits on, but it is in very good condition. I love that someone painted Lichfield Laundry on it. That just gives it more character.
Glad the straps and buckles are still in tact.
This is the first one I have seen with this type of reinforcement.
Mr. Savvy said this basket is in much better shape than the bottom one. He never could understand why I bought that one since it is a bit rickety. Well, because it was a good price and it just needed someone to take it home. The new one was only $95 which was a very good deal for one of these.
It's Easter weekend, but maybe you will be getting out and getting your junkin on.
Have a good one!

I LOVE that basket....I have to tell you that it would look just great in my laundry room....Note to self: Bring a big purse on my next visit. Or...when you are not looking I will have Bailey drag it out to my car. She is my partner in crime!....Happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteThat is a great basket. The writing and the leather straps really give it a history and character. Great choice!
ReplyDeleteEaster Blessings!

I'd have had a hard time leaving it too!
ReplyDeleteI love your basket, Kim, and it's in great shape. Score!
ReplyDeleteNo antiquing here. We are planting some flowers, mowing, cooking, etc. as we will have a family dinner tomorrow. Looking forward to the music and message tomorrow at church. This is such a meaningful holiday. Another gorgeous day here so we will spend some time outside! HAPPY EASTER!!
ReplyDeleteFun new baskets, I love Franklin TN hubby and I go there often. Can't wait to see if you store anything in the basket.
ReplyDeleteThat would have came home with me too Kim...it looks great stacked on top of your other one!
ReplyDeleteKim,
ReplyDeleteI did take notice of that basket when I saw the pics of your junking trip and thought to myself I wonder if she bought that? We are busy with Easter preparations at our house this weekend and my hubby worked all yesterday mowing the lawn and working in the yard.
However, next week we plan on doing some "fun" stuff which includes taking a road trip hitting some of my favorite shops. We also plan on taking a day or two and going to DC to see the cherry blossoms when they are in bloom. Have a wonderful Easter!
I wondered if that was what you bought....I would have not been able to resist it either!!!!! Looks great paired with your other basket too. Happy Easter!!!

ReplyDeleteI knew it! Love your find Kim and I love that it had that Lichfield sign on it too, made it feel really used by this company way back when!
ReplyDeleteGreat find Kim!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful!
ReplyDeleteIt would have had me too! Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLol! I like that. "It needed someone to take it home"...I'm gonna try that one Kim, of course I'm not sure it'll work, but I'll try anything once:D Love the basket!
ReplyDeleteGreat baskets...especially together! You have a great eye. Happy Easter Blessings...
ReplyDeleteLooove the basket. Love the name on it and the character. It looks awesome with your other basket.

I am so glad you visited The Tobacco Barn ! It is one of my favorite haunts. Is about 5 minuets from my office and I have been late back from lunch more times than I can count. You might want want to check out the Regeneration Station east, up the street on Glendale Ave. use you can get a pup right across the street at Brother Wolf. I've been late back from there also ! Happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteYour baskets look great stacked. Love the texture they add to a room too.
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter,

ReplyDeleteAnd I love the holes on the sides for handles - what a great find !
Happy Easter Kim !
Kim, The basket is what I liked the best when you posted about the trip. I have a little addiction to baskets.

I think I need to visit Atlanta and go shopping with you. I am amazed at the great pieces you find.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful details on that basket! You should be a personal shopper.
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter :)

I adore your new basket! I agree that the writing on it makes it even more charming!
ReplyDeleteThe straps are really nice. Great find!
ReplyDeleteKim, what a lucky find! I especially like the little handle-holes (no need to worry about old, fragile handle straps pulling loose with these types of handles). I like the other basket too-- very pretty with the 'basket weave' pattern. Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving your nice comment. -- Melissa
ReplyDeleteLOVE! What an amazing find! xx, b @ being-blanca.com
ReplyDeleteI think you did well not to take it all home!! Good choice on this basket, how interesting that it says Lichfield Laundry on the front. Do you know anything about it??
