It's been a really long time since I showed y'all this rack in the hall. My ironstone collection has really grown and a lot of the smaller pieces fit nicely in this rack. This little hallway runs between the sitting room on the front of the house and the great room. The powder room is on this hall across from this rack. This is just wasted space and a good spot to display my collection.
I'm standing in the master bedroom for this shot.
When I found this it was a plain pine piece with no back. We did a little diy to transform it by adding beadboard to the back and then I painted it with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint® in Chateau Gray the same color as my kitchen island.
I placed some of my sugar bowls, creamers, platters and plates along with a couple of oddball pieces. Pitchers line the top.
My vintage cow creamer is a bit of an oddball in this collection.
This is the other oddball in this collection. I found this tiny tureen by Red Cliff years ago at a Re-Store of all places and only $10.
You can see more of my ironstone collection here.
I hope you will come back tonight to show off your collections or anything else at Wow Us Wednesdays tonight at 7 pmET.
See y'all there!
I love your wonderful collection of ironstone and how you so beautifully display them!...
ReplyDeleteGreat shelf for displaying your collection, and love the oddball! :)

Love your shelf, Kim. I like the addition of the beadboard on the back. I pick up ironstone whenever I find it at Estate Sales. The pitchers are my weakness!
ReplyDeleteYou really do have a great collection. Love this display.
ReplyDeleteI've always liked your pretty shelf, Kim. Your oddball brown cow brings the ironstone to life and adds a little smile. Cute and classy! Jane
ReplyDeleteyou have a nice collection going! I like it displayed in that shelf in the hallway like that.
ReplyDeleteGreat collection Kim and you displayed it beautifully!
ReplyDeleteGreat collection. I love how you have them displayed on that DIY rack...it really makes a statement!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful collection! Like your photos too ♥ Alexandra
ReplyDeleteBeautiful collection. I love the "parade" of pitchers on the top.
ReplyDeleteAudrey Z. @ Timeless Treasures
Pretty! I agree with Audrey particularly love the pitchers!!
ReplyDeleteAs a family history researcher my mind read your title as 'tombstone' yipes. Your IRONSTONE is nicely showcased by the color of the rack. I am partial to the small pitchers and the addition of the colored cowl finishes the look.
ReplyDeleteOh Kim, don't you just love when wasted space happens to become a place of beauty as you have created here.
ReplyDeleteI use to have a similar shelf that I felt I could not use with it just open to space and sold it in my shop retail space, I could so kick myself for not keeping it, perhaps I could have found some wasted space as amazing as you have done here.
This small cottage home I am in just limits my creativity, unless I really focus on what pieces I purchase, or the amazing salvage that just happens to find me. I am adding my pottery pieces in the mix of my olde ironstone pieces, it will be some time before i have enough of my art pieces to stand out in the smaller mix of ironstone that display.
its just so exciting to add more of what we love tomthose unexpected places as you have done here tastefully. i do have to mention its not only those wasyed spaces that become attention getting it the backdrop designs that add likeyour trim work and doors that pop in for a bit of attention.
would love to walk your halls and take in all so up close and personally.
perhaps even touch a few things :)
xx

ReplyDeleteKim,
ReplyDeleteYour cabinet is super pretty to display all your beautiful ironstone. Love the little cow creamer and that she has on that cute bell. Adorable. Happy New Week.

Enjoyed seeing your collection and how wonderfully you have displayed it in the DIY upgrade to the cabinet. The colour of the cabinet shows off the nice white of the ironstone. So many terrific pieces!
ReplyDeleteYour collection it lovely and the white really pops on your painted shelves!
ReplyDeleteYour display looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteKim. You have really taken your ironstone from a few pieces to a really nice collection. That is something that NEVER goes out of style. I have friends that have been collecting for 25 years or more and it is as much as decorating staple today as it was back then.
ReplyDeleteThat piece is great-love the bead board. In some lights that grey looks like it has a greenish cast. It's a pretty color! Have a great night. xo Diana
I've always loved this shelf! Your collection, gorgeous too!
ReplyDeleteA small hanging shelf is always a great piece for displaying a collection as you've done, Kim. Fun to see your ironstone. I have a really small Red Cliff tureen too, but mine is only 2.5" tall and less than 4" handle to handle. it was a Round Top find this past January. I didn't bring any ironstone home this last show, but my friend came home with a set of plates and two platters. The plates are fabulous with a wheat design in the border. She said I could borrow them! Great! Get to use plates I don't have to store! '-)
ReplyDeleteWhat did we do before AS chalk paint? Love the shelf and the neutrals look fab with the few fun accents! xx, b @ being-blanca.com
ReplyDeleteYour collection is so pretty, Kim, and the shelf is just perfect!
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely collection and a great spot to display it on the pretty shelf too.
