A few weeks ago I went to my local Pottery Barn store to return something I ordered. Of course I had to look around while I was there. Well, that was a mistake because of course I found something, but I returned what I brought in and went back home. The thing is that "something" that I found haunted me. I went back the next day and thought it had been sold since it wasn't in the same spot. I asked someone and he told me it had been placed in the doorway. Well, I had walked right past it. Yay, it was still there and it was all mine!
This is my new gray chair with brass nail head trim. I have a grain sack over the seat to keep it clean. Do y'all have dark blue jeans that turn everything blue? Yea, me, too. Y'all should see my leather seat in my car. I know how to clean that though, but not upholstery.
This is now the chair that I sit and blog in most of the day. Good thing it's pretty comfy.
I love the color and the details of this chair and since it was a floor sample it was half price.
It is truly a great chair and such a great compliment to the one that sits beside it!....I saw that chair in my PB too..on sale as a floor sample and I said, "oh that's Kim's chair!"....Said it rather loudly and some heads turned....A group of ladies thought that was the name of the chair, the Kim Chair. I laughed and had to explain...but they should consider calling it the Kim chair!!!...Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteOh Kim, I love that chair and you'll enjoy sitting in it sooooooo much more knowing you got such a great deal!
ReplyDeleteLove the new chair. fondly ~lynne~
ReplyDeleteGreat chair, perfect in your sunroom! It looks comfy too!! Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteIt does look comfy Kim. And yes. I can relate to those indigo jeans that look amazing on, but cause a bit of a mess . :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday!
Beautiful chair and a good bargain.
ReplyDeleteHi Kimmie! I love your new chair! Looks so pretty! I just wanted you to know that I've tried for days to comment on your blog and a window would pop up saying a script was preventing me from doing anything. I don't know if it's my computer or what. Just wanted you to to know I've been visiting and couldn't let you know.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Well, that's strange, Shelia. I'm glad it is working now.

DeletePretty chair and it looks really comfy.
ReplyDeletePretty chair....pretty Kim Chair. I like grey too...but have been on the fence adding to my house. Sheila E
ReplyDeletekim, i like your sunroom. very cozy. about your dye on your jeans, if you add 1/2 cup of white vinegar to the first wash of jeans it should set the dye. and no, you will not smell like pickles. thank you for sharing your beautiful designs.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip, Katherine.
DeleteThanks for the tip, Katherine.
DeleteThe rubbing off of the dye is because it's indigo dye. It's called "crocking" (the rub-off). Not sure where they came up with that! LOL Personally, I am not crazy about the dark jeans, but I do have one pair. I read up on what to do. Before you wear the jeans, wash them as regular but add 2 cups vinegar to the RINSE CYCLE. You can let rinse as normal or you can let them soak for a while before finishing up the cycle. Then let your jeans air dry (weird I know) and iron them on high temp. Then wash your jeans 1 more time through a normal cycle with detergent, dry as usual, etc. and the dye should be set.
ReplyDeleteOh and I've been getting the same message about a script as Sheila has! Although yours is not the only site I've gotten that.
Great chair and what a deal!!
ReplyDeleteI want your chair!
ReplyDeleteKim, what a smart looking chair and what a deal too! Crazy about the grey and oh, that pillow is just perfect and classy! I can picture you blogging away and and being comfy too!

It looks so comfortable and very, very chic.
ReplyDeleteGreat chair and a great place to set and use your computer. Nothing like getting a bargain on something you really want.
ReplyDeleteVery nice chair!
ReplyDeleteHi Kim, once my jeans are old enough then I sit anywhere I want, but yes I grunge when my daughters friends come over in the heat of summer in what looks like new jeans or the black denim they where and sit on my pale pieces, charis, sofas, mand so on.
ReplyDeleteThat's why we also throw a piece of linen sheeting over a sofa or chair when these college friends are hanging out.
As for your new GREY CHAIR, perfectly winged what a looker, and I too would have been haunted with making a choice to want to return to make a purchase. I just bought at our Good will donated new packaged up some pottery barn linens and 2 brand "real simple" duvets in original packages that are still online for $149.00 each, and I got them each for $11.00 in the original packages and in mint condition. those where the Good will pieces that haunted me, and was Happy apon my next day return know one had my vission for them.
Your home is amazing, everything you add and take away adds that much more French charm.
More days of inspiration ahead of you.
Xx

What a beautiful find! I'm glad it was still waiting for you!
ReplyDeleteI've been washing dark or bright clothes with an initial vinegar wash for years. It sets the color to prevent fading and color transfer. Love your new chair. I have a fondness for wing chairs. Pottery Barn is a dangerous place for me to enter. It's impossible to get back out those front doors without buying something. But then, if you love it, it's a good thing. Right?
ReplyDeleteThat is a beauty! And half price, I love it even more! I have cream and white and denim dining chairs! They are so bad at the moment, I really should do something! Damn jeans!!
ReplyDeleteLove that chair Kim! It's looking mighty fabulous in that room too;)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful chair Kim! It looks great in your sun room! I also love the idea of the grain sack over the seat to keep it clean!!
ReplyDeleteGreat looking chair, Kim. Glad you took it home! It does look comfy!
ReplyDeleteLove the color and it does look comfy!
ReplyDeleteGreat chair! Love the color and of course the nail head trim! Also love the grain sack over the seat, no matter the reason!

ReplyDeleteGreat find Kim! Still crushing over your grain sack PB chair.
ReplyDeleteLove your new chair and everything that goes with it!
ReplyDeleteHi, stumbled across the researching about the Thatcher Chair. I must have missed the chair on your blog. After 6 months, are you still happy with your color choice in reference to stay fair clean. I want that exact color and hubby it trying to sway me! What to do? I do have some Vintage Wingbacks to perhaps upholster but I just love the details of the brads in this chair.
ReplyDeleteAmy, it is staying pretty clean and I have sat in it almost daily until now since it has moved to a guest room. It is not really comfortable, but nice to look at.
