Last week I shared the chairs that I transformed from yellow to gray and placed in the dining room.
Several of you asked what was in the breakfast room now? I had the six black chairs in here while I painted the yellow ones, but I decided to try something different and placed the ladderback chairs that were in the dining room in here.
If you look closely you will notice the chairs are mismatched. Two are gray with linen seats and two are white with checked seats. The gray ones sat against the wall beside the hutch in the dining room and the white ones were at the table. I don't mind them being mismatched, but I do have two more of these chairs in the original dark finish that I will eventually paint and recover.
Yesterday many of you said this wall in the breakfast room was the best spot for the new Kensington clock from Decor Steals. I knew I had some smart design savvy readers. This is my favorite spot, too.
I changed up what I have on the table again. Y'all know nothing stays the same long around here.
I blame this new vignette on this new old looking cow from Antique Farmhouse. When it came up for sale I tried to resist it, but I just couldn't.
I pulled out my vintage berries crate and filled it with a few things I had on hand and then the cow statue landed there, too.
For height I used a cake stand and placed a French torchon on it.
The vintage red scale adds a pop of color.
The enamelware pitcher with grocery store flowers that I also used in the spring sun room shoot rounds out this farmhouse style vignette.
I hope y'all have a fabulous weekend!
sure, go ahead and blame the cow if it makes you feel better. :) love the mismatch going on.
ReplyDeleteLove the mismatched chairs at the table...and knowing you, they won't stay that way for long!!!
ReplyDeleteThe centerpiece of carefully selected vintage items to create a perfect vignette is so beautiful....Have a great weekend!
Love the vignette - but the cow is my favorite!!! Somehow I missed this one! Happy weekend, Kim!
ReplyDeleteOf all the arrangements you have shared with us of this part of your home, I like this the best of them all!
ReplyDeleteLike you, I am loving that little cow. It really sets off the vignette! And I really like the clock on the wall that you posted about yesterday. Just love the whole look today! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteLove the little cow! So cute! The mismatched chairs look great.
ReplyDeleteKim, love your kitchen and your chairs are wonderful! Okay, your vignette is so darn cute, but that cow speaks to me!
ReplyDeleteHave a fun weekend!
Nancy
The mismatch actually adds to it's appeal!
ReplyDeleteKim, I love everything you do! : )
ReplyDeleteLove your clock on kitchen wall. Sheila
ReplyDeleteI am all about the mismatched chairs!! Giggling at 'the cow made me do it' :)
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend my friend!!
I love the mismatched chairs! When I worked for Pottery Barn, a million years ago, I got 6 chairs for a ridiculous steal (like $5 each), but the catch was that they were all different colors. That was fine with me, I've always liked a collected look, but none of my family or friends got it. Of course, now it's totally in vogue, back then, I was just a mismatched decorating mess! Ha!
ReplyDeleteHi Kim,
ReplyDeleteLove your table vignette. Love that cow. I love the mismatched chairs too. Glad you decided to keep the clock there it looks so great. Have a great week end. Your weather looks pretty good down there.
Kris
Love it!
ReplyDeleteWarm hug,
Titti
Well, I will give you that the clock is perfect there- but I liked it in the guest bath, too. However, the cow is PERFECT right where you placed it. That is A GREAT looking cow, too. I've not seen any others like it. I like mix and match chairs, too. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteYou have a great eye for decorating. I wasn't sure what a French torchon(tea towel) was since I took Spanish, but I found out I actually have one I bought in Avignon, France two summers ago.Maybe I'll pull it out and start something with it..lol. I like the collected look too.

You have given me an idea for my dining room table. Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteI actually like the idea of mismatched chairs!
ReplyDeleteThat red scale is fabulous! Your breakfast room is so full of charm, Kim!

The breakfast room was definitely the right choice for the clock. And I,too, want that cow! And I like the mismatched chairs. I"m really tired of my matchy-matchy set. But I can't quite bring myself to paint them as they are a nice golden oak and fairly new. Maybe I will find some cool old ones that I don't mind painting and giving a new life. Thanks for your inspiring post!
ReplyDeleteI love mismatched chairs! LOVE your vignette too!
ReplyDeleteI love how you always manage to rearrange everything, swapping "this and that", and somehow you always make everything look marvelous!
ReplyDeleteEvery time I think your kitchen can't get any better, you find a way to take it up a notch! The clock looks perfect on that wall, and the table vignette is great!
