If y'all have been a follower of mine for any length of time then you know that I am a huge fan of Charles Faudree's design. He was always decorating with dogs in his homes. I am a huge fan of using dogs in my decor, too.
I had these two vintage framed dog paintings, that I won in an auction in France, in two separate locations in my house. I just didn't know where to use them together. Then an idea popped in my head the other day and on a whim I tried my idea out.
I removed the painting that was over this chest and hung the two dog paintings.
I love them hanging together. I wish the paper in the top one wasn't so yellow, but that happens with age.
You can read the first post about the artist information here.
One is black and white.
And this one in color. I love them both.

You can see where one of the paintings was located ever since I got it here.
I never shared the other one much, but it hung behind the chair next to the French doors in the sitting room.
I love them both together! These are fabulous prints. I love the buffet below them too.
ReplyDeleteI like them there so much. That was a good decision. We have had two dogs, English Spring Spaniels, just like in one of the paintings.
ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful....great find! I love them hung above the chest......

They look great hanging together!
ReplyDeleteI think they were meant to be hung together because they look fabulous in that spot! And I just adore those sweet faces that the artist captured!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the prints there....I so remember you being drawn to those gorgeous prints in France and so glad that you won them in the auction....They belong together for sure....Looks great. I am enjoying going throughout the new Charles Faudree book...so happy that Jennifer Jordan created that book...such a wonderful tribute to the late and great Charles Faudree.
ReplyDeleteI love the 2 pictures hung together. they make a nice statement that way. I even like that they don't perfectly match. they look more like they've been acquired over time rather than a matching set.
ReplyDeleteI love them! I don't think I would have thought to hang them underneath with the heads facing opposite ways, but they look perfect!
ReplyDeleteHi Kim~
ReplyDeleteI love how you painted the ceiling in your room
It makes the room look so cozy, I know this is about the dog prints, but I couldn't help but notice the ceiling. I love it... And the dog prints are so pretty.
Have a great day.

Looks great Kim!

Beautiful effect! Blue chest is wonderful! xo Leslie
ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful and perfect together in your dining room!
ReplyDeleteI love flipping through Charles Faudree's books and seeing the dogs in almost every room! I also like that chest that is below the cute doggie paintings.
ReplyDeleteOh, those look good there, Kim!
ReplyDeleteLove dog portraits...probably cuz I love dogs. I think people who love dogs like to use them in their decor, and it certainly is something Charles would have approved of!
ReplyDeleteThey look perfect paired together Kim. You could always have the one scanned into a computer and printed on white paper if you would like it to perfectly match the lighter one. Just and idea !
ReplyDeleteThey look fantastic together above the chest! Meant to be.
ReplyDeleteHanging them together is perfect.
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful pictures and they are great there where you can truly enjoy them.
ReplyDeleteI am a dog lover as well and love seeing images used in decor. The yellowing paper just adds to the history!
ReplyDeleteYOU REALLY ARE CHANNELING SOME FABULOUS CHARLES F. STYLE!!!
ReplyDeleteCharles Faudree Inspired would be a nice title for a blog party!
ReplyDeleteLove those prints, Kim and they look GREAT together!! I, too, Love Charles Faudree's style and want his books. Someday... Everything you do looks fabulous.
ReplyDeleteThis may be one of my favorite things you have ever done. They look magnificent. I just wish I could find both prints for myself:) I love them.
ReplyDeleteSo Downton Abby-ish!

They look great together and above that beautiful chest!
ReplyDeleteThose are such beautiful pictures of beautiful dogs. They look great together!
ReplyDeleteThat entire vignette looks great together! The pictures, the plates, the chest, glass jars on the floor with your vintage bowls...it really looks as if you picked all those out to go together! Looks fab as usual:D
ReplyDeleteI think they look great when hung together and I love the fact that the dogs are looking in opposite directions in the paintings.
ReplyDeleteKim, I adore your prints hanging together in their new home ♥ Two paws up from Chloe & Gracie too :)
