When I think summer the first thing that comes to my mind is HOT, STICKY, and SWELTERING! One way I like to cool it down a bit inside, besides using the air conditioner, is by adding blue and white to my decor. The other day I went in HomeGoods, to see if there were just a couple new things for my summer decor, and I ended up strolling the lamps aisle like I always do. I don't need new lamps, but I always look. I sort of have a thing for lamps. Going in HomeGoods can be dangerous. :)
I came upon stacks of lampshades and these blue and white ones called out to me.
These also had me at plaid and jute trim.
Changing out lampshades is such an easy way for a fresh look.
Here is the original lampshade which I do love. In fact the shade is what sold me on the lamp.
Don't worry these are stored until I put them back on.
The blue and white already makes me feel cooler.
You may have also seen a peek at something else I picked up at HomeGoods and I will share more soon at this upcoming tour.
Have a fabulous weekend!

My legal name should be blue and white but it's not because I'm drawn to other color palettes too. I just recently visited my first Home Goods store and found a beautiful painting. Looks very nice Kim! Have a "cool" weekend!
ReplyDeleteThose are darling Kim, and they look terrific on those lamps! I have yet to go into a Home Goods store. The way everyone talks about it, it's probably a good thing I haven't been there yet!
ReplyDeleteWell, you had me at blue & white. Throwing in checks was the clincher.
ReplyDeleteKim, I am always up for blue and white! Love the crisp look it gives your lamps! Pam (everydayliving.me)

Great colors for the summer weather and very relaxing too. xo Catherine
ReplyDeleteThose lamp shades are the sweetest!!
ReplyDeleteI am not a blue person but the new blue's have gotten my interest. I bought some Americana Decor chalky finish in Serene last summer at Home Depot in Florida. It wasn't avaiable here in California store's yet. But in getting ready for my first vintage flea market i thought I'd try it. So nice. I took a mirror frame I liberated from the trash and painted it. Added a chalkboard and it came out great. So I did a corner 3 tiered shelf too. Both have touches of white. My new fav.
ReplyDeleteAll it takes is an inspiration piece.

I love blues and lots of white too. Those are sweet lampshades.
ReplyDeleteVery cute lampshade!
ReplyDeleteLove the touch of blue! Okay, so I am crazy I actually LOVE the humidity LOL... I know.. I know. But if you lived through one of our winters you would totally understand.
ReplyDeleteI saw those shades in our HG too and thought they were so cute!
ReplyDeleteThe blue and white lampshade is perfect for summer! I have a hard time finding lampshades I love around here.
ReplyDeleteThose blue and white shades would be PERFECT in my master bedroom where I have a blue, yellow, and white color scheme (a la Provence). I am happy that you saved the other shades, because I love those, too.
ReplyDeleteThe nearest Home Goods is about 1.5 hours from my home. I think that may be a good thing for me, because Home Goods always has so many great items for very good prices.
Best,
