A few weeks ago when we were moving furniture out of the sun room for the new rug I had decided to take the drop leaf table out which meant it had to go somewhere else. I really didn't have a place for it in the house so it ended up in the garage. Only problem I already had this sofa table in the garage so something had to give.
The problem was the table was a bit short and lost behind this tall sofa and items on the table sat too low. So what to do?
You get in the car and drive to the big box store and pick up some wood bun feet for around $8 each.
Mr. Savvy looked at me like I had four heads when I showed him the bun feet. He said how do I attach that when it has a screw sticking out of it and there is no way to attach them to the legs?
Well, silly you drill holes for the screws to go in. Isn't that how they work?
See he did just what I asked. He also added glue.
They are a bit big for the end of the legs, but worked great to raise up the table.
I painted them to match the table and voila.
I added three of my green demijohns including the giant one I just shared with y'all the other day.

I'm at the oral surgeon's office this morning getting a fractured tooth pulled and a bone graft so I will publish your comments when I am coherent.
:)
Post edit: the tooth came out and the graft done and all went well and quickly.
Happy Thursday!

That's a great tip, Kim. I had not idea you could do that. Thanks!
ReplyDeletePerfect solution:) and it looks great!
ReplyDeleteTable solution looks great, but it's the last comment that got my attention most. Good luck - I am going through the same process (since March). I go back in a couple weeks for my grafting & posts (a little different timing as my tooth was abscessed before extraction). I got by with your protein shake recipe - trust me, it'll come in handy!

Great tip!
ReplyDeleteHope all goes well for you today and you have a speedy recovery!
Very clever idea! And if you move that table again and need it the regular height, you can take the bun feet back off!
ReplyDeleteLove that Kim! The bottles look gorgeous there as well!
ReplyDeleteKim, I did the same thing on an end table! I had to order my bun feet from Ebay tho because Home Depot wanted $18 each!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful idea! Very creative indeed.
ReplyDeleteGreat solution Kim...I like the way the sofa table looks with the green demijohns.
ReplyDeleteLove the table behind the sofa...another great surface to stage!! :) In your household, the motto is, "where there's a will there is a way" !!!
ReplyDeleteWe used the same ones to raise our kitchen butcher block table which functions as our island because the stool wouldn't go under otherwise. Worked like a charm!
ReplyDeletePerfect solution Kim!
ReplyDeleteOh dear, that does NOT sound like fun:(:( Ugh. Love your wonderful solution! I have a similiar problem with my sofa tables and raise things on little pedestals when I need to. Your bun feet look great!! Hope you feel better fast!
ReplyDeleteGreat solution, Kim. I hope everything went well at the dentist.
ReplyDeletexx,
Sherry
Hope you have a quick recovery. Love your idea for the table, it turned out great.
ReplyDeleteLove the table and great fix. So sorry about your tooth and the graft. I had one a few years ago and that was worse than the tooth.
ReplyDeleteor....... you can get them in several different shapes and sizes at your nearest Habitat for Humanity Restore for $1 ea
ReplyDeleteOh no...we just went through the same exact tooth problem here. Hubby broke a molar, infection set in, antibiotic before oral surgeon could pull tooth, but hubby had an allergic reaction to the antibiotic! Waiting for healing for an implant. BTW...table and demijohns look great. Sheila
ReplyDeleteIt's a great idea and very timely for me. I inherited my grandmother's coffee table and it has a marble top that is VERY heavy. It's only 14" high because it's mid-century and I want to make it about 2 or so inches taller. It has brass caps on the legs and I need to find a solution like this. Right now I have it propped up on children's blocks. I love what you did to this table. Hope I can figure out what to do with mine :)
ReplyDeleteMarcy
AWESOME easy fix - congrats!
ReplyDelete:Looks great and love the new demijohn.
So sorry about your teeth - ouch! Get better soon!
Great fix for your table. Looks awesome.

ReplyDeleteThe table looks great:D Now the the table has a unique set of legs! Looks AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteGenius! You are a clever one! Blessings to you as you heal from dental surgery...take good care.
ReplyDeleteor.... you could add casters. They won't show behind the sofa and can be removed when you don't need them.
ReplyDeleteOUCH! Sorry to hear this.... hope you recover quickly!
Love this idea. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! And who's going to go look back there anyway?
ReplyDeleteBrenda
Great idea to fix the table! Best of luck with the dental problem!
ReplyDeleteClever idea, and the demi John collection looks stunning behind the sofa. Love this look!
ReplyDeleteGreat tip Kim. I know the exact look your husband gave you because I get the same one. ;) Hope your feeling better with you dental issues.
ReplyDeleteIt's a great idea. I'm in love with the way the light plays with the glass demijohns.
