After I moved the ugly bird picture to the sun room I was left with a blank wall in the back entry. No problem because it gave me a place to use my cow chalk board again. This dark hall area is so hard to photograph and I wish you could see what it looks like with the lamp on, but that just causes a big white glowing blob in pictures.
This is the normal way I create a vignette just by grabbing things from here and there.
Sometimes I get the look I want the first time and sometimes it takes a few tries.
A French enamelware pitcher, old red scale and my favorite bull are corralled together.
An old ironstone milk pitcher is filled with dried lavender.
It all sits on a vintage French torchon with red stripes.
I created this look a few weeks ago and now it may just get styled for fall.

ReplyDeleteLooks great. Love the bull with the cow blackboard. Perfect pairing.
ReplyDeleteLooks fantastic Kim. Trays and baskets are so great for making this and that just right. :)
ReplyDeleteA lovely vignette! Wishing you a lovely weekend, Kim!
ReplyDeleteYou have so many pretty things Kim! Great vignette!

The scale needs to come out and the pitcher with lavendar go in. You can't see the scales. Just my opinion!!!
ReplyDeleteGood idea, Donna. At first I had lavender in the pitcher in the basket. Swapping it would probably work. Always good for a new set of eyes looking at it.
DeleteSuch a pretty vignette, Kim! It will be so easy to change out and add fall decor. LOVE the cow chalkboard!
ReplyDeleteLove that red handled basket. What a great find!

Looks great, Kim. The cow chalkboard is one of my favorites. :)
ReplyDeleteI decorate like you. I start with one piece, often a basket, and just walk around the house grabbing things.
ReplyDeleteI especially love that red scale!

Kim you are the vignette queen. I love how your this and that just all comes together so beautifully for a vignette. The red handles really pop from the basket to tie this all together. Very nice.

I LOVE this Kim! ~julie
ReplyDeleteVery cute. But I would agree about the scale being too low. Maybe add a book underneath to raise it up just a couple of inches? LOVE the red handled basket!
ReplyDeleteKim, I just wanted you to know that we gave you a shout-out on today's blog.
ReplyDeleteI love your vignette! Did you draw the blackboard design? All so neat looking! Blessings, Lynn
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty vignette to see and admire as soon as you walk through that garage door!....Looking forward to the Fall vignette you create...
ReplyDeleteSimple but definitely packs the right amount of Farmhouse punch into the space!
