I hope y'all had a nice weekend. We had gloomy skies and drizzle on and off, but it was cool and felt like fall. To ready my sitting room for fall I added darker colored and textured pillows, a thick cozy throw for those chilly evenings, books stacked on the floor with some pumpkins, and some fall florals. It's so easy to add these things to add a bit of the season and to create a cozy space that beckons you in to sit a spell.
Oh, and I almost forgot this room got a bit of a furniture change. I took out the round table that was in front of the sofa and brought in the ottoman that goes with the chair. Now I have this wonderful comfy spot where I can put my legs up.
This is the same fall pillow I had used out on the deck in my table setting. It can't stay outside so it works perfectly in here.
This plush pumpkin looks black, but it is actually dark brown.
I love using my old trophies filled with different florals throughout the year.
The floral pillow is a Turkish kilim cover I bought at the flea market. I just love the colors and textures of my pillows together.
The striped kilim pillow is from Pottery Barn and the other one I bought on Ebay last year. These add great texture.
Since nothing is too serious on my blog I thought I would go ahead and post this photo with the flash of Miss Bailey running through my shot since this happens all the time and she messed up my good shot.
:)
Have an awesome week!
Have an awesome week!
Haha, didn't even notice the swoosh of Bailey at first! I love this room, Kim. That little wooden stool and the smalls on the nearby corner table (the lamp, the little box the plant is sitting on) - really nice, and so is the trophy design with fall florals. Of course, the vaisselier...{sigh}. Great textiles for fall, too.

Beautiful Kim!
ReplyDeleteLove all the cute accents of fall! I must try my hand at making a large acorn. Loving yours!
Yes I just posted a very similar pic of Benny entering our Living room at the time I took the picture!!
I would love to curl up with a good book in that room! It does look very cozy.
ReplyDeleteI always love to see Miss Bailey!! The room looks really good. I haven't changed anything for Fall yet, although I don't do alot of seasonal decorating, but we are still pretty warm here. Should cool down some later this week, so maybe that will get me in the mood. I don't use oranges/reds/yellows in our home, so alot of "fall" stuff doesn't work in our home anyway. (Thank goodness for blue/green/white pumpkins!!) Anyhoo, I love the snuggly throw and the arrangement in the trophy cup. I may have to copy that. I have bunches of feathers, even used some peacock feathers in my mantle garland last Christmas. Happy Monday!
ReplyDeleteThis room really does make you want to sit a spell! I love all of the beautiful elements you brought together perfectly! Cute little photobomb!
