Visions of Christmas added to the deck have been dancing around in my head since this is the first Christmas after the makeover. Did I come up with a plan for making the deck festive? Not really. So what to do? Well, you just shop the house, buy a small live tree, put it all together on a cloudy and fairly cold afternoon and start shooting pictures.
I did this weeks ago before all the leaves were gone.
I grabbed pillows I already had plus grabbed the two new plaid ones I bought at the At Home store back in October. They were so cute in plaid trimmed with fur that they just had to come home with me. Then I brought out the birch logs and container from the great room, filled my enamelware pail with pine cones that I keep stored, and watched hubby's eyes get big when I grabbed his fur throw. The tobacco basket was hung several weeks ago in place of the shutters that broke and I quickly attached a wreath to it.
I hope you enjoy a little Christmas on the deck.

The Holiday deck is so Merry and Bright!!!!...the sun finally peeked through the clouds today after days and days of rain!
ReplyDeleteThe porch looks so pretty! I do understand reality too! Mine looks the same way at this time of the year! Agree can't wait for the colors of spring!
ReplyDeleteIt's perfect Kim! I've still got pumpkins on my patio, time to get busy!

I'm feeling the warmth on that chilly deck! If only it could stay like that, sigh. Mine looks exactly like yours -- the last photo, that is, lol!
ReplyDeleteIt looked so nice decorated for Christmas. I was hoping because you live in Ga, that you would be able to use your deck through the winter.
ReplyDeleteI just love your style, Kim! I hope you got to enjoy some time on that merry looking deck before you had to store it all away!
ReplyDeleteIt's simply decorated but feels warm and inviting. My favourite part - the little tree in the red pot with a single wrap of ribbon. Perfection!
ReplyDeleteYes, it's heavy rain and wind up here. Not looking too welcoming outside. But inside, I'm in my own Christmas wonderland.
Your desk looks so festive, inviting and cozy! It looked gorgeous! I love all your pillows and the tobacco basket looks great with the wreath.
ReplyDeleteIt all looks so good out there in nature
ReplyDeletelove your back porch/deck?
whatever its wonderful
So pretty ..... Maybe if the sun returns, you can dress her up again!
ReplyDeleteI love this idea. Ohio is typically very snowy for Christmas but some lights and winter touches would be nice to look at from my back french doors. Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty and festive in RED!
ReplyDeleteI love it with all the red and the plaid rug is perfect with it. Too bad you couldn't have left it that way longer. At least spring will be here before we know it...although much sooner for you that for us in NJ!

Your deck looks so festive! Every time I see one of those old tobacco baskets I think of my grandfather who used to farm, buy, and sell tobacco back in his day. Sheila
ReplyDeleteI so wish we could have nicer weather so I could do Christmasd on my patio. I have the inside done and SOME things on the front stoop. We plan to do the outside this weekend as the weather is suposed to be above normal and SUNNY!! Yeah!!! I love, love your Christmas deck. Sad that it can't stay that way. Beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteI love how pretty all of your plaid and sweater pillows look out there. I know you are going to love it out there again this Spring (except for the pollen).
ReplyDeleteWe have to tuck everything in too. We get wicked high winds here. It's already begun.
