The foyer is the first thing you see upon entering the house and I like to change up the vignette on the French antique chest as the mood strikes. It has looked the same since taking the holiday decor down. I didn't realize how much texture is in this vignette until I started editing the photos.
On one side there is wicker, metal, leather and bone plus the added patina of the tarnished silver and the aged antler.
More texture is found with this ivy and fern fronds set in moss and tucked in the ironstone dish.
On this side are more leather books and ironstone with pine cones.
More texture is found on this new stone lamp and the linen shade. I ordered this Aidan Gray lamp from Joss & Main at a really good price before Christmas. It even came with two shades. One light and one dark.
And there is even more texture on the wall with the wooden mirror frame and the antique antler trophies.
This is what the foyer looks like on a cold and cloudy morning which is what we have going on again these days with a chance of snow in the wee hours Saturday.
I wish it would snow while I'm awake so I can see it fall. We rarely experience snow around here, but I love to watch it.
Stay warm!

Love the textures, Kim. Everything looks beautiful! I love the photo with the books and pine cones. If you need to see some snow, come on up to NJ. We are expecting a blizzard to hit on Saturday! My kids are thrilled since we've only had a dusting so far this winter.

Life is all about fabulous texture. Our decor, fashion, food, all in the eyes of the be holder. Shine, color depth, layers of age,and memories, everything we do sparks a smile! I love leaving shades open on a winter night to catch a glimpse of white flurries layering earth . Smiles!
ReplyDeleteLovely vignettes.
You have such great things to create such fabulous vignettes including great color, texture and various elements....I will be tweaking vignettes, etc as most likely house bound for the next couple of days....winter storm headed our way!..ugh!
ReplyDeleteLooks wonderful! I especially love the plant life in the tureen. That inspires me to try to make something like that for my tureen. Sheila

ReplyDeleteI love that chest and your vignette is lovely with the browns whites and greens. We are suppose to get ice starting tonight and then snow after. I hope the ice stays away.

ReplyDeleteLove the new lamp and it came with 2 shades? That's awesome! LOVE all the texture too. I am refreshing each room after taking down Christmas too. WE are expecting 12-18 inches of snow ALL DAY Sat. I will definitely see it fall....and fall....and fall....

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful space! I love all the textures and materials used here. I'm really digging the color of that frame on the mirror...I might have to try that! I was thinking about changing the color of my huge Rococo mirror and that's beautiful, Kim! Have a marvelous weekend:)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Cindy. That mirror is very old and that is the color it has turned.
DeleteI love all the texture! So pretty to me!
ReplyDeleteI was wondering what you call that lovely high piece of furniture in your foyer? It seems taller than a buffet, is it a bar?
ReplyDeleteSharon, all I know is it is a tall chest that I bought in France. I just loved the patina of it and the size and it was an awesome price.
DeleteYou really create wonderful vignettes each time. And that front door is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI shared you post about the rug you removed with my husband tonight. We have been wanting a rug in the living room, but we both decided that we just track in too much sand.
